  • BTW, there is a myth that "Marco Polo brought gunpowder and compass from China." Of course it's just a fairy anecdote - blackpowder and compass are found much earlier in Europe by written evidence. The Compass is confirmed by Alexander Neckam in 1180-s being routinely used by English sailors - not a single word about "brought from China" whatsoever.

There is hard evidence that China and Europe invented many important things on their own, all the "copycat"-myths are more BS than anything.

  • Just remember, Francis Bacon (British scientist who is considered the Father of Scientific Revolution" considered printing, gunpowder and the compass the three inventions that influenced and dominated world history. He was unaware where those inventions originated from. Many Western innovations have been originally Chinese innovations. Not downgrading Western achievements, but I'm just pointing out the facts. And you are probably ignorant of Chinese history in science as I am.

  • @VanillaSnow23 westerns made it better and superior to chinese

  • @fireking9934 No no! Yes we admit whites are smart too, but not superior... :)

  • @VanillaSnow23 im just joking with you man... all races are smart....

  • @VanillaSnow23

"Western innovations have been originally Chinese innovations."

    Let's see...

Printing - Johannes Gutenberg invented in 15th century Germany his own printing machine. Chinese may have had it earlier, but there is no "chinese influence" known.

Gunpowder - was already known in Europe in 1260-s for sure. It was probably brought by Mongols, but only Europeans invented "corned gunpowder" and actual guns, no "lance throwers" like Chinese early proto-guns.

  • @Protherium

Compass - Yes, Chinese have used it in 11th century, but there are european accounts dating the use of their own compass in 1180-s. Arab sources mention this technology even 100yr. later, so historians regard it as a independent european invention.

The myth of "Europeans are copycats" is NOT supported by actual historical sources, and must be regarded as typical modern "asiaphile sensationism".

  • @Protherium The only thing you might be correct is the Printing. The Mongols got their Gunpowder from the Chinese, idiot. It's a big cycle. And China invented the first siege cannon, incendiary bomb, multi-staged rockets (used with bambo sticks), land mine, naval mine and fire lance. The only thing they didn't maximize was the "Gun" which you stated.

The Compass was introduced to the Arabs by Silk Road and later introduced to Europe 150 years after it was invented in China.

  • @VanillaSnow23

"The Mongols got their Gunpowder from the Chinese"

I haven't contradicted that. But, what they brought was blackpowder, not gunpowder, there is a big difference. Incendiary bombs, naval mines - the so called "Greek fire" wasn't that different.

"The Compass ...introduced to Europe 150 years after it was invented in China."

Then why there is no historical connection between "european compass" and China? Do you know any historical sources which can confirm that?

  • @Protherium It's the same thing, dumbass. Asians are copycats? Only eurocentric supremacists think that. Certainly it's not true with Japan or South Korea...although China currently has issues. You have a point whether or not Chinese innovations came to Europe, but nonetheless the Chinese were there first (for all three: Printing, Compass, Gunpowder). But I agree...China and Europe both made unique contributions that were important. Anyway, past is past.....the future will be interesting.

  • @VanillaSnow23

    ", dumbass."

    Moron.

    "the Chinese were there first"

Funny but I never claimed otherwise. The whole comment fight is about the widespread myth "Europeans were dumb barbarians and stole inventions from sophisticated advanced eastern civilisation".

  • @Protherium My bad. But yeah it's true...Europe got it's mathematics, science and ideology from the Greeks, who in turn were influenced by Egyptians, Arabs, Persians, Indians...(which is East). Thank the Arabs and Indians for the renaissancial ideals, mathemematics and rudimentary science.

  • @Protherium And the myth of "Asians are copycats" are also NOT supported by actual historical sources or claims either and must be regarded as typical modern "eurocentric sensationalism/arrogance"

  • @VanillaSnow23

    ", idiot."

Yeah, then some smartass would certainly give me some historical sources which tell about "a magic magnetic needle from China" or "magic black powder from China" brought to Europe. According to written evidence, 13th C. Europe didn't even know where and what China exactly was.

"Asians are copycats" - is bullcrap, just like all the Victorian Era supremacy fantasies.

  • americunts must dissapear great china could stomp them anytime theyre just to usefull.

china isnt long in the game and still showd whos the boss HAHAHA

    3 trillion debt doesnt lie.

  • Alot of people ask why China lost to the UK and other Euro nations during opium wars. Here's a hint about Chinese culture stated by Marco Polo: "If the Chinese were warlike, they could conquer the world. Thank God they're not." But after they were invaded and exploited by 8 different nations since the 19th century, these nations have woken the Sleeping Dragon.

  • dun worry guys, we gonna overtake western powers soon:D

  • Fuuuuuccck! Im sick of this bullfuck...Why can't you little shit white fucking boys hack the fucking fact that the chinese were the first inventors of mostly everything, yet the motherfucking europeans take the fucking credit just because they wrote it down in fucking history, fucking white boys don't take our credit and start honouring us, bow down to us!

  • @ICU2P : Bow down to us? That arrogance is what cost the Ancient Chinese their edge, when they decided they were superior to it all and closed themselves off from the rest of the world, technology advanced without them until the Europeans got so far ahead they took advantage of China's weakness

What's done is done, nothing is to be gained by wailing over past glories, accept and learn from past shames, and channel that bad attitude to something constructive so that China can be great again

  • @repivz00 well said.... i couldn't have said that better myself... I just came back from China actually, Chinese ppl r very heavily brainwashed.. they are forced 2 believe what their government tells them... which is lies to cover up their own flaws... i got a very anti-western feeling over there.. yet they are using many aspects and ways in business, architecture, engineering, education, health which are developed by westerns..

  • @paddlepopkid : Technology and innovations go both ways, many older Chinese inventions gave way to the more modern western ones, and China now modernized is making new innovations today as well

I can't say specifically about what anti-western feelings you got while in China, but to be fair the west has a not so pleasant history here in the east, my own country was colonized for centuries

And even today western nations are giving us plenty of reason to be anti-western

  • @repivz00 yes i agree with you.. it does go both ways... and i didn't see you were from Philipines.... well your country was colonized by spanish that why....the spanish didn't make good countries, if it were colonized by British it would be like USA or Australia or Canada or New Zealand or Hong Kong which were all colonized by Britian.... the spanish screwed up every country they went too.. look at south america.. ruined to the most part...

  • @paddlepopkid : America kinda sold us out too and stabbed us in the back during our war of revolution against Spain, and then there's all the American military bases they put up here

Despite their mistakes China was never an aggressive nation, they always focused inwards within their own borders and minded their own business, while trading with neighbors, and for that China is very much appreciated, sadly the west (America) is still into their own old habits of invading foreign nations today

  • @repivz00 Europeans came to China to take their inventions to conquer the Chinese at it's weakest point. That is just Disgusting....

  • @ICU2P I agree but we can't change the past, the reality is there will always be people looking to take advantage of others, like the Chinese my ancestors were also naive and taken advantage of by Europeans, all we can do is learn from it and make sure it doesn't happen again.

China is becoming strong again, but don't let that progress lead to arrogance and say "others should bow down". Americans got arrogant and look at their country today, we should not repeat mistakes of the past.

  • @repivz00 China is one of the "Greatest" Country agree?

  • @ICU2P Right now I think so, yes

Let me ask you a question though, why are you so concerned with petty titles of greatness? Isn't humility a Chinese virtue?

  • @ICU2P Lol and another thing....when u say "you little shit white fuking boys"... on a most scale... European's are on average taller and more muscular than chinese... and its fact yous have the smallest penis's in the world...! so get your words right... and most people thing its becoz of the diet.... but my friend is studying to be a dietican or wateva, and she told me chinese people actually have a very healthy diet compared to westerners which is fact

  • everything is made in china lol!!!

  • all of this lacks credibility! its always may have... its possible... some suggest... its totally bull shit.... its China trying to catch up to the West, not Europe and American catching up to China!! the west has always been superior! lets not mention that we are better looking too... asians just have striaght black hair and black eyes which are slanty and facial structure is horrid!

  • @paddlepopkid When you say Europeans are better looking... the first blonde person was an inbreed and the europeans desired it sooo they wanted more blondes, where as chinese keep it straight, europeans look very different from what they do long time ago where as chinese stay the same...

  • @ICU2P umm reading a few of your comments and replying to wat u said to me... your actually in dire need of an education and your ignorance and arrogance is disgusting.... firstly there has been inbreeding in every race and every species since the dawn of time... and your wrong, Blonde hair and Blue eyes was the mutation that happened about 15,000 yrs ago in the last Ice Age... due to lack of sun and certain foods...

  • @paddlepopkid the Chinese are not brainwashed. No one is as stupid as you are. so just don't assume they are like you.

  • @ICU2P and not all "europeans" and people of european ancestry have Blonde hair.... our genetics come in a large gene pool and is very varied... people have brown, blonde, orange and auburn hair colour and same for eyes... blue, brown, green... and at least we all look different... asians all have the same facial features. and colour complexion, doesn't this mean inbreeding and having 9 kids is actually the asian style

  • lol I'm sorry but I just realized that many Chinese inventions for the sole purpose of entertainment (for kids) have inspired the west to invent similar objects for the purpose of war. =_=

  • @TaiGekTou yeah but then if you look at the kite it was the ohter way around (not including that drunk guy on a kite fortune telling game haha

  • @TaiGekTou I got to agree with that .. Many Chinese inventions which are made for leisure and entertainment has been given a more sinister nature when they reach the West. The ancient Chinese made and used the first ouija board to foretell disasters and talk to spirit ancestors. In the West, they see it as a "portal" to another world with demons and such. :P

  • The discovery, harnessing, and use of electricity is what changed the world

  • China only invents in time of need and necessity we didn't continue our inventions considering the fact that China was at peace at that time. Until ofcourse the Opium wars, which the British Empire was responsible for. Your ignorance intrigues me, please, tell me. Do they teach you that you invented these inventions at school ?

  • @Bioloser I don't normally like comments, but when I do... I prefer when they're right. Thumbs up my friend...

  • Manchu forbidden all kinds of scientific research, and implemented "Close Door Policy", causing the fall of China.

  • Im azn XD The first one to make a child was chinese IS THAT ALL YOU CAN SAY CHINESE

  • ?? although these videos are cool the chess game came from the vikings

  • interesting video but its a little over the top with believe it or not. im sure china invented all these things but thats not to say europeans arabs and africans did not either.

  • this is discovery science, this isn't ripley's, mofo.

  • lol. that's why you were immediately spammed...because you're an idiot.

  • yes europeans invented things but they also have a evil habit of claiming other peoples inventions as their own. They want to project a false sense of surperiority to others

  • The Chinese have sometimes been guilty of the same thing. They claimed for example that the Buddha was taught by Laozi or was a reincarnation of him.

  • we can all prove that everything was created by different cultures. But where has it got them is a better question. Mongolia did not exactly invent the most complicated mechanisms yet they were still able to conquer china. Those who adapt and absorb are the victors those that insulate and ignore are thelosers. Thats why china lost the opium wars failed to realize they had fallen behind in technology.

  • @ehs790 white people are superior,

we have guys like nikola tesla, isaac newton, einstein, and galileo

    BITCH ASS CHINK INFERIOR SWINE

  • @fireking9934 Those are great thinkers...but there are better ones..

  • @VanillaSnow23 yeah but as of right now.. isaac newton imo.. is the greatest scientist of all time, with einstein a close rival.. i can't think of any asian scientist that match up to either of those 2

  • @fireking9934 Einstein stole from his wife's ideas, and I don't think the "atom bomb" was a thing to be proud of...Newton was great though. But don't make preposterous assumptions that no "asian" scientist can match up to Newton and Einstein, because frankly, you are probably another biased eurocentric who is as ignorant of Chinese history in science as I am.

  • @VanillaSnow23 his wife was white...

and isaac newton is still considered the greatest scientist of all time

europeans are superior, deal with it buddy

  • GOLF can also be claimed to be invented by the ancient native people of southamerica: the Mapuches.

Yes, when spanish conqueror's came to America, they found that Mapuche's people used to play a game where a small ball was disputed by 2 teams using a wood instrument very similar to the golf or hockey sticks of today. They called this game: "chueca".

  • just becuase there hitting a ball with a stick doest mean its golfim sure people kicked about a ball also but that doesnt make it football

  • The illustration about Chinese chess was soo wrong! Chinese chess was developed by generals and soliders and it is a smaller version of a battle field played by two forces. The river between them represents the real river that divided two great military forces, the edge between -- Chu and Han. The battle was recored in history books! The Han army won the final victory over Chu, and built up the greatest dynasty --Han Dynasty.

  • The pieces on the chessboard are "Commandas" "Generals" "Military ministers" "bodyguards" and "soliders". Every Chinese who knows how to play the Chinese chess understand that.

  • Wow.. I never cared so little about something someone posted before... as if we truly care about Chinese chess. I didn't even watch the video. I just simply posted it. it's a piece of crap. everybody knows china was inhabited by black native american iroquois zulu's from manchuria...

  • I thought india was 1st with chess

  • I believe you're thinking pakistan.. or "persia"

  • Oh by the way peking man did not come from africa. the only other race not to come from garden of eden. I'm also manchurian and there's no fact to support zulus on our soil. But there are plenty of evidence with caucasian and slavs.

  • lol. I was joking about that silly. Hence the "native american iroquois zulu from manchuria", none of which coincide for any reason at any point in history. *shakes head*

  • --.. i believe the video was talking about a "precursor" to chinese chess... and how it spread to india and from india it spread to china again(or evolved from the earlier version) to the chinese chess we know today...

and dna shows that ALL man comes from africa.

  • And I didn't mean Pakistan, I mean Iran which = "persia" or the "aryans"
