  • I love Megadeth and i like him like marty f..

  • Comment removed

  • technically thriving, musically dead

  • Chris is so buff, it's hard to imagine that he was overweight

  • hey megadeth fans lets wish chris a happy birthday today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we love you chris

  • 14 dislikes ! WTF! Fuck off then...!

  • what's holding the pick on his thumb?

  • Wow! I love his bio. What an inspiring story... Love ya Chris!!

  • Has he made a solo album?

  • His hands are trying to play the whole time he talks.

  • He should have went to Jazz guitar classes instead of classic :)

  • Dude that was totally awesome. The back story was great.

  • Chris likes to focus on playing more relaxed rather than playing fast...

I would like to see what "fast" means in his world.

  • retire at 50, i don't think so. I am 55 and still rocking my ass offf, watching y0ou....

  • Paco de Lucia is a fkin monster

  • What Malmsteen song does he play at 6:04?

  • @StormchaserD31 i believe its the the first solo section of 'ill see the light tonight'

  • Marty friedman kills!!

  • this is the very reason why i dropped out of school. too many robotic players come out of music schools... guitar for me is all feel... reading and knowing notes is a waste of time...

  • @ENEMENCIO123VISION I agree with you because a lot of the musicians in college don't actually seem to have a PASSION for the instruments they play and are just looking for a major.. I'm just doing it so i can have a back up career for what i'm actually doing.. So i'm actually going to college to major in music engineering but my ultimate goal is to become a successful musician so i'll be doing classical bullshit and orchestra or studio work or whatever to make a livable wage to pay my expenses=]

  • @metallicahead666 good for you Bro... and Best Wishes... Peace

  • Chris Broderick is a GREAT guitar player, but to me he's more of a robot then a guitar "player".. He plays way too many arpeggios in his solos. I don't feel it when I listen to (most) of his solos. Dave, Chris (Poland) & Marty have that emotional element when they played their solos. There's no emotion with Chris Broderick, it's just ridiculous speed.

  • @Sideler74 feeling is something personal. maybe you cant feel it, but i can, and i think many others

  • @Sideler74 Chris Roboderick

  • "trust me i know" about failure on guitar... And i know exactly how it feels to be in FUCKIN MEGADETH!!!

  • your influences are broad because your Chris Broderick

  • me no big fan of him but he seems to be a nice musician

  • i want to see him play alongside tosin abasi one day

  • at 6:05 it's like Alexi Laiho exercise :p

  • someone knows how to play the lick at 06:05 ?

  • 12:56 WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!?!?!?!? AND HES EVEN TALKING THROUGH OUT IT.

  • So um I'll start from the beginning. I was a jock but nevermind that becuase I went on a radioactive oatmeal and cartoon bender which gave me awesome guitar playing super powers so I crushed my jock friends bones, erm I mean social lives into dust and lived happily ever after. lol, greatest self bio ever.

  • @leopardsbasketball what´s a jock? I´m not from America and i guess it´s some slang term and in imagegoogle? That can´t be anything related to Chris

  • Am I the only guy who watches this video series while I eat?

  • 7-string guitar!

  • He's so cool.WHY?

  • Hes joking about the oatmeal right? lol

  • And the funny thing is!

  • 12:19 he starts playing

  • he's so right about music schoold being divided. back in the early 90's a friend of mine went to berklee up in boston and would invite me to hang out. after a few times hanging out both on campus and the local bars i began to see that there were jazz snobs and metal head shredders. wow did they hate each other. all i remember thinking was that we we're all guitar players and there should'nt be petty bs about who's style is superior.

  • Dude, you ROCK!

  • I was gonna go to college for guitar and got accepted to a nice school... then realized how broke I am.

  • hes really humble, specially for a guitar hero

  • why does he pretend he doesnt remember it's called 'eruption'

  • Great guy

  • He seems very intelligent, and very devoted. He is a great inspiration

  • Life story

  • He's really cool. Dug this one!

  • lol he knows all those chords and he keeps playing B minor lol.

  • Just remember, if you can't play it slow, you can't play it fast!

  • @Milewskige and if you play like a bumble bee then you might as well make a nest...

  • soooooooo....ugly fat kids like metal?

  • @KitRamsey1 Uhhhhhh...... maybe :(

  • does that mean that if i get fat all of a sudden I will become as good as Chris? :D

  • @pmbass95 no

  • i like the ending of the URL...

  • @ 5:10, that's it...and that's all...

How about dreaming...Chris Broderick and Paco de Lucia...again, what a dream

  • algien que lo subtitule al español !!!

  • Jason Becker!!!

  • He is human!! just he get a great music education!! :D Nothing out of the world

  • Chris sez: WINNERS STAY IN MUSIC SCHOOL!

  • @mowshetung

me sez: most school taught musicians are assholes, and cookie cutter

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA So Chris is an asshole? He seems like a nice guy. What's a cookie cutter?

  • @mowshetung

i knew i would have to expound, i said MOST, that means not all, Chris seems like a righteous dude. Cookie cutter means same old shit basically, which Chris obviously is not, he is certainly an awesome talent

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA Oh I get get it now. Cookie cutter - that's classic. I'm self taught on all my instruments. But although I enjoy learning at my own pace I sometimes wish I got some formal training along the way. How long have you been playing?

  • @mowshetung

been playing guitar 1 year, piano for most of my life,i can pick up most instruments and get something nice out of it.Never focused on any one until guitar.I've been told that i'm progressing unbelievably fast on guitar, and i'm more of a percussive player & fingerpicking(andy mckee, erik mongrain, stephano barone,Hedges, etc). My appreciation for all styles is great,i'm not a metal guy,but i appreciate the soloists. But most musicians i've met so far are assholes...so far,lol

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA Yeah most musicians can be utter wankers, that's for sure. I'm going through metal phase right now. I've also been playing the piano from a young age, from about three. About two years ago I bought a classical guitar and really got into flamenco. That lead me to this metal phase I'm in. I was recently in the states and got an insane bargain on a Japanese made Ibanez Destroyer to replace my cheapy Ibanez GIO. I'm trying to play Bach on it. Trying.

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA Great okay, I'll check out Scott Mishoe - thanks for that. Yeah Paco is pretty awesome. I also like Tomatillo (I think he used to play for Camaron De La Isla). I think if speed metal has it's origins in classical music, then metal definitely owes a lot to flamenco. Enjoy your guitar :)

  • I suppose Chris Broderick is the poster boy for sticking with your music lessons...!

  • 6 different Classes a week??? thats why hes a fucking master

  • Overweight by eating oatmeal? Hmm, I guess if you put a stick of butter in ever bowl.

  • he needs a psychiotrist but not youtube ...

  • wow he's talking too much...

  • Shit man, feels like he's just sitting here, talking with me. @_@

  • Holy fuck...

  • I like the fact that no matter how badass metal-heads seem, when they talk about their favorite music and gear, they`re like little children. So excited. I`m the same :)) I don`t know about the badass aspect though.

  • Dye hair blonde.... Skwisgaar

  • @Giveupthefunk100 Sadly, he doesn't have the accent... :(

  • @Giveupthefunk100 cut hair off... real life Skwisgaar

  • 10 dislikes, really! How is that possible... Chris is down to earth and humble, yet he's such an amazing players...

  • Can i have a name for 06:05 ?

  • @Agzastrgath It's "I see the light tonight" by Y Malmsteen.

  • @Tanvir378 Thanks alot man :)

  • So inspiring when guitar players talk about their history

  • Why are you people complaining about Chirs being in Megadeth? He is doing great job in a great band, it's a win-win situation!

  • @guugeli169 You're right, but everything Chris writes for Megadeth is built around Dave's songwriting, people want to see what Chris can do instrumentally for himself, since he's come a long way from Jag Panzer.

  • Comment removed

  • "....Probably bring the violin back up and scare some cats away with that... you know" AHAHAHAHAHA totally died with that!!

  • went to a megadeath show... saw inflames and children of bodom. walked out when megadeath played. chris is way too good for them.

  • @mkehandgrenades Don't get that. Why would you walk out if you like Chris so much.

  • He needs to do a solo album

  • hate his band... love his playing

  • Cool stuff, I love his work with Jag Panzer... Wish he would rejoin and they'd get back together.

  • Fracyal audio Fx... Eric johnson, chris broderick, and tosin abasi use this... This amp is a must buy.

  • Wtf is he doing in Megadeth

  • I love how he can emulate other guitarists. Perfect Van Halen and Yngwie. Will eating oatmeal for a whole summer make you fat?

  • Wow, I used to be into sports until I went away one summer and started playing guitar. Then I came back to school in the fall, practiced, joined a band and banged every girl that I could. I then graduated and went to college, practiced, joined another band. Again banged every girl that I could. So what did I learn. Practice makes perfect and hot chicks are a plus.

  • @asssmoothie69 HOW FUCKING OLD WERE YOU WHEN THAT SHIT HAPPENED!!!??? I practice the guitar every single day for hours on end, but no fucking girl seems to notice!!! WHAT DID YOU DO!!!???

  • @loljonasfail Play stuff girls know man. I'm guessing you really like playing fast, so you sort of have to come up with a compromise and find music that you enjoy playing, while still making sure that girls can dance to it. Sing! Classic rock is a good bet, if you can play stuff by Jeff Healey or SRV, or cover some Van Halen songs note for note you're in. You don't even need to practice for hours on end, even an hour a day is good. Play melodically, not fast, and speed will follow.

  • Comment removed

  • @asssmoothie69 Yes, but that probably happened about 25 years ago. Playing the guitar doesn't earn you chicks today. It just makes people say "Oh, you're probably good but I listen to *rap/pop star*"

  • @asssmoothie69 holy hell! I just bought a jackson randy rhoads guitar. i better get crackin' lol

  • Oh, I wish I knew

  • the range of music this man can play is mind blowing

  • the funny thing is i saw jesus play guitar. but i then discovered i was looking in a mirror.

  • Love how when he mention scott mishu, some idiot says "periphery."

  • This guy fuckin rules!

  • 7 strings?

  • @Fusive7 Yes

  • "You know"

  • Wait! So oatmeal and cartoons are why Chris learned to play guitar? haha jk imagine what he'd of done if he had went to summer camp.

  • @o00harris00o he calls it a sharpie pick, nobody else has them although you could make one by super gluing a pick to a severed thumb pick

  • I really respect chris Brodericks disciplined approach to learning and playing guitar. His desire for perfection and proficiency has led him to develop into a guitarist who can play the most technical of guitar pieces in peak form. I really admire the level of proficiency. I can't think of to many guitarist who can touch him based solely on technical ability.

  • the funny thing was...

  • @michaeljjeffrey i guess there were a lot of funny things

  • his pick is bound to his right thumb! now that's classical! lol...

  • damn when i s he gonna shut up and play something!!!

  • I knew this dude was cool! I started looking at this Megadeath Line up and I love it.

  • this is the 10th time i'm watching this.

  • @Syntraediace220 same here, and i still cant figure it out

  • everything was good until he mencioned the country music :/

  • DONT RETIRE CHRIS!!! WE LOOOVVEEE YOUUU!!

  • great video =)

  • And the funny thing was...

  • He says "Hey guitar world fans" like how Buster from Arrested Development says "Hey Brother"

  • What yngwie stuff is it? around 6:08??

  • @GuitarRants

    I'll See the Light Tonight.

  • 8:45....."I don' haf anything elth to practith" with a lil bit of butthead sound...lmao

  • i hate people who say hi im chris brodreck im going to crush your hopes and dreams and stuff like that cause seriosly if you much time to guitar maybe someday you could be better than him

  • @MrJohnson129 No. noone of us will be better than him.

  • he plays so clean

  • Video resume: Blabla, blabla, blablabla, blablá, blabla..... blabla

  • here's a question......if he had an ibanez custom beauty like that......WHY THE FUCK DID HE GO TO JACKSON?

  • @Moxxiekanato ibanez wouldn't let him have certain fret wire on his CUSTOM.

  • @elliotjgc that sounds fucking rediculous.......what the fuck is fret wire?

  • @Moxxiekanato fret ire is what the frets on a guitar are. and really its not that rediculous when u think about it. a custom guitar is ment to be to u own specs basiclly.

  • @elliotjgc ........thats kinda what i was getting at -.-

  • @Moxxiekanato cause jackson is for real men! >:D

  • @blackvein511 i find all of their stuff is so.....meh.......

  • @Moxxiekanato i dont like dean i love ibanez, jackson and schecter what brand do you like then? :)

  • @blackvein511 deans look really bad, b.c rich too, ibanez, schecter, esp, all good companies :3 i like alot more custom guitars though, made by luthiers :DDDD

  • WOW i can relate to alot of what this guys says....Hes Kicks ASS.

  • the funny thing is,is like dude....

  • to all you guys who dont know musical theory i urge to learn it,it'll make music so much easier.

  • Comment removed

  • He actually inspired me to learn theory with his words, AND with his playing. GIVE ME YOUR SKILL D;

  • He's fucking ripped. He aint a fatty no more.

  • Chris you are so cool!

  • honestly, chaos theory sounded more exciting, but hey cool video. Lets see number 2

  • I can play ten times better than him in my dreams.

  • interviewer: So Mr. broderick when are you gonna leave Megadeth and start your own solo projects?

    Chris: -_______- soon enough

  • @evertuber hes fine where he is

  • @MEGAxTHRASH daves retiring

  • @SvddenDeth yea in like the next 5 to 10 years

  • @evertuber then you have just to wait until dave desides to retire megadeth to rest, as chris has once said..as long as megadeth is still there, i'm here to stay. the fact is you just see it on one side, chris is no doubt an incredible talent as far as guitar palying is concern, but c'mon if it wasn't for megadeth, he would not be recognised to the full extent, and chris is 41 already. do you know what i mean?

  • @evertuber he could stay in megadeth and still do solo stuff, marty did it for years!

  • "I don't care how fast I can play, but how relaxed I can play"

Well, he can play as fast as he wants, so I'm not really surprise that he doesn't care of the speed >_<

  • @kilik2049 Speed comes from good, relaxed playing. Excess tension leads to limits on technique and speed.

  • he seems like a smart dude

  • hearing how he started makes me wonder how many other guys started like him. starting with EVH, going to Malmsteen, then going off from there. I know I started exactly the same way..

  • 11:18

say im playing uhh *looking like hes gonna play something super simple, like chromatic bullshit*

while i sit here and think

    "hep"

  • @DBSoloman5000 i can play that i found it in a guitar world magazine
