i read that the stock tranny on any mustang could hold around 500 before it breaks :( guess not

Maybe on a GT's, but not a v6. Gt transmission's have an extra band on each gear.

I'll be getting times soon as I replace the transmission that blew up on me during the dyno run. I guess stock tranny and 400+ to the wheels is not a good combination.

Hell no. I have a built 8.8 with detroit tru trac, moser axles, and a girdle.
