5 year warranty yea right, after i spoke to Panasonic i was informed the warranty is only valid in the country of purchase, this stops people from buying the same product for 5,000 cheaper in a different country, but not good for people who use the camera internationally, after using this camera i am soo glad i didnt buy it, stick with my EX3 and a nanoflash at 200 plus mbps 4.2.2,
@alienmode you must be the little faggot bro, the other guy has offered a valid opinion from experience with the company panasonic, what have you offered, nothing but a poor attempt to call someone gay and small, you obviously have some issues of your own that your hiding under your skin, just come out the closet BRO
This looks and sound outstanding. I wonder how much the edit set up would cost that you'd need to edit the footage. mind you if you've got the cash to shell out for this, then you can shell out for the rest.
OK. Cameras are for pictures, right? Camcorders are for videos, right? But what the hell the Canon 7D DSLR make HD videos betters that any Camcorder of HD around 6k to 8k and it only cost $2,129. And as a Videographer a need to pay 6K to 8k for a HD camcorder and it get worst, those camcorder are 1/3 CCD chip, the worst thing in low light situation. Check this video "Canon 7D movie - Another night in Beijing" This is proof that SONY,JVC & Panasonic only whant to F... Y.. until they can't no more.
I have worked on major commercials, and brand videos shot on the HVX, and the footage speaks for itself. You should spend more time practicing your craft and less time griping about nonsense.
AVC-Intra is great,my bitch with Panasonic has always been the pixel count with all their P2 cameras.I personally own the 200.I have shot corporate and weddings where guests with $600
mini DV cameras had less grain and had brighter pictures. The 500 is a 2/3 inch sensor with no more pixels than the 200 with is a 1/3 inch chip.If Red can release a 12 megapixel
35mm film size chip and a 4 megapixel 2/3 inch. The Panasonic can have at least 2.2.megs.
oooh, right. I hear ya. This issue was always in the back of my mind too, I just wasn't sure if it was much of an issue because I still work with DV. I wonder if the problem is that the 200 and 500 have 3 sensors, where as the RED only has one sensor, and therefore more room for a larger chip. I really have no idea how the inner workings are arrange inside a camera though. Either way, I see your point.
Sony does not have a 1/2" CCD with 2.2 million pixels, non of the manufacturers do. Up until this point, almost every camera from Sony, Panasonic, or JVC have used "smoke and mirror" type tricks to uprezz to 1440x1080 or 1920x1080. The Sony F355 and the Panasonic HPX500 are similiar cameras, but both do not contain full raster HD imagers. I'm not trying to say anything bad, the footage still looks great, but it may suffer from some effects from uprezzing when compared to native HD footage.

all 2/3nch ccds should have at least full raster chip (1080 x 1920).Sony did it with
only a 1/2 inch ccd .
High definition is 2.2 million pixels .Therefore a camera that has less is up rezing .
