  • @cybersaur, I plan on doing one in the next month or so. I have been busy with my shop, so I haven't had a chance to film a drawing segment, but I will put something up in the near future. Thanks.

  • I bet Iron man has ball swet in that suit.

  • I love the way you draw, mainly I looked at ALL your videos of you drawing and I looked at the way you hold your Pencils, markers Ex. I think that it is really unique how you do hold anything you are drawing with.

  • when you colored him he looks like the clasic iron man from the older comics

  • is there anyway to improve my comic drawing? I find it very hard to draw without a reference...

  • the first picture you showed of iron man was from civil war and was drawn by my favorite artist micheal turner but i only know of one comic book he penciled the whole thing and that was superman/batman suprgirl

i make drawns for DC comics,

so next time, dont judge so fast

  • really?

  • i did,

    now i make to Marvel

  • what comics?

  • x-men

  • ha ha whats the name of the x-men comic anything special are you the penciler inker collorer cause really you said you switched from dc to marvel so quick and already drew a full x_men haha

  • its not just me who draw the comics

lots of people are needed to make one comic book

and i said i already made draws to dc,

    not that i switched

  • ha like i said what are you a penciler, colorer, inker. and i know it takes lots of people to make a comic

  • @avaiboot ok well the hands big and legs are short cause he said he tried to do forced perspective

  • Again another masterpiece:)

  • great draw / tutorial i did an iron man drawing too but not as good as urs

and i'm assuming u did the coloring on the computer.?

  • why does he have the superman symbol

    -TaZ

  • good video, do you have any tips on drawing eyes?

  • So tell me, how do you color under the black without erasing all the white with the magic eraser tool? I can't seem to get that part right.

    Great drawing!

  • Thanks!

I don't use the magic eraser tool. I use the selection tool on the layer under the black, which is the layer I will color, and select the areas that I am going to color a specific color.

    -- Matt

  • dude i know a chap that used to draw for marvel, he is really good at ironman inparticular

    -- Matt

  • WHAT TABLET DO YOU USE? i´m a photoshop apprentice myself

  • Hi! I don't use a tablet. I use the mouse. The linework is done with pen and ink and scanned into the computer. Thanks!

    -- Matt

  • wat did u use to color it?

  • I used Photoshop.

    -- Matt

  • how much does it cost?

  • Around $600, I believe. My version is an older version.

    -- Matt

  • u payed 600 dollers?

  • I paid about half that because my friend was going to college when I bought it, and college students were able to buy it at half the cost.

    -- Matt

  • Cool. Nice drawing of ol'shell head. Not saying anything but his eye's you should have gone over with a blue instead of keeping it white.

  • The way most colorists color Irn Man's eyes these days is like they are glowing, and usually that is done with white or even yellow, not blue. Of course, back when the slits were blacked in, unless the artist had Tony's eyes visible. Thanks!

    -- Matt

  • awsome thats a first ive never seen you color somthing keep drawing matt!!

  • Thanks! I appreciate the comment!

    -- Matt

  • Well, im attempting to get better at art, but i can't seem to draw freehand, i try and draw things but i can only seem to draw things while looking at them, any advice you have for me at all would be greatly appreciated.

    --Kyle

p.s You truly are extremely talented.

  • Thanks, Kyle! The thing to do is to try and visualize what you want to draw in your mind. It doesn't have to be anything exact. Actually, the image I draw is never exactly what I envision (and it's never as good as I want it to be). I believe that's an artist's curse, though, trying to draw what one imagines but never getting it quite as perfect as what was in the imagination. It does keep the artist trying to improve and I guess that's the reason why it works that way.

    -- Matt

  • Wow, "Thanks!", you are an amazing artist, and having advice from you seriously means quite a bit, keep up the good work, and also i have so much respect for you, you reply to literally every comment i've seen on here, truly great.

    --Kyle

  • I figure if people take the time to comment, I should take the time to respond, if possible. Thanks again!

    -- Matt

  • you are truely amazing!!!

  • Thank you very much!

    -- Matt

  • nice job

i have trouble on shading and lighting it's MAD crazy hard

  • why can they show the video step by step by actually doing it slow

so fcking crap when they do it quik there is no point havin a video which is fast

  • As a rule, I am not putting up instructional videos. I'm not even good at explaining to others how to draw, I just draw. And there is a reason to put up drawing videos other than someone might try and learn to draw from them, and that is to show the work. That's why we have museums, and books, and magazines, and, yes, videos.

I prefer to use my videos to show my work, and the drawing videos where I am actually drawing are done so people can watch it being created. (continued)

  • If someone can learn something from my drawing videos, that is awesome. But, I do not set out to make actual training videos. I have to find the time to do a regular drawing video as it is, and, as I already noted, I am not good at explaining how to draw.

    -- Matt

  • can you plsss make a video

how to draw like you..?? plss..

  • I'm not really good at explaining how to draw, unfortunately. It is easier for me to just do it. I do have the videos where you see me draw the pictures that might help in some way. Thanks!

    -- Matt

  • oh sweet awsome dude this is a great drawing. Continue on the good work man.

  • Thanks! I appreciate it!

    -- Matt

  • thanks matt i ordered my book already =D!!!

  • Amazing! Totally awesome interpretation of the suit (most artists can't draw it consistently). The coloring was cool too. How'd you do those color effects on the armor? Was it just the Photoshop brush tool, or the gradient tool?

  • It was done using the airbrush tool. Thanks for the kind words!

    -- Matt

  • WHERE DO U GET draw comics the marvel way? i wanna buy it

  • You can order it from Amazon online.

    -- Matt

  • you are very good at drawing, i draw but not as good as you, your way better then me. I like how you did your other videos as well, by drawing with the camera on so we can watch you do it, when i try i screw up so bad that i can't post them.

could you look at my art vids and tell me if im doing okay :)

  • Thanks for the kind words! I'll check out your videos.

    -- Matt

  • man you are the greatest i can draw but i can't seem to draw good like that please would you be able to give me a couple tips

  • Thanks for the kind words. I'm not too good at explaining how to draw. The most important things to work on, though, is anatomy, perspective, and light and shadows.

    Thanks!

    -- Matt

  • do you do any professional work, like for comics?

  • Hi! I haven't done anything, yet, other than work on a comic news magazine years ago.

    -- Matt

  • Ohh, I want Photoshop so badly, do you have to buy it or can you download it? Such a cool drawing, especially the effects!

  • Thanks, Deni! You are supposed to buy it (and I did with my copy, but at a discount thanks to a friend), but it can be downloaded from certain sites.

    -- Matt

  • How many years have you been drawing? the video was great!

  • Thank you! I've been drawing since I was three years-old.

    -- Matt

  • aww, I miss the magic of the speed drawing, as good as this is, it's fun seeing you draw super fast
