You Killed it man. I've just started drawing Iron man and it looks pretty good but it doesn't come close to yours. You should work for marvel, I'm serious.
@cybersaur, I plan on doing one in the next month or so. I have been busy with my shop, so I haven't had a chance to film a drawing segment, but I will put something up in the near future. Thanks.
I love the way you draw, mainly I looked at ALL your videos of you drawing and I looked at the way you hold your Pencils, markers Ex. I think that it is really unique how you do hold anything you are drawing with.
the first picture you showed of iron man was from civil war and was drawn by my favorite artist micheal turner but i only know of one comic book he penciled the whole thing and that was superman/batman suprgirl
ha ha whats the name of the x-men comic anything special are you the penciler inker collorer cause really you said you switched from dc to marvel so quick and already drew a full x_men haha
@MattHawes Hi you are so awesome I cant even tell in words and I am going to subscribe and friend request. I started drawing when I was 5 and I am 11 and I do drawing lessons sometimes for my classmates and as soon as I get a camera I want you and all the other drawing legends like Comicking2 and Mark Crilley or Sharkhead to see my drawings and also my drawings depend because I draw anime and manga or real people see ya
I don't use the magic eraser tool. I use the selection tool on the layer under the black, which is the layer I will color, and select the areas that I am going to color a specific color.
thanks alot, i cant believe you actually got back to me and thanks for the kind words on my videos, i will do more shading and just spend longer on the draws.
Matt your just awesome your the best comic drawer on youtube or even that i know, hey could you have a look at my videos if you got time of course, and just see what i need to do to improve?
im 15 so here is where i need to get my act together.
The way most colorists color Irn Man's eyes these days is like they are glowing, and usually that is done with white or even yellow, not blue. Of course, back when the slits were blacked in, unless the artist had Tony's eyes visible. Thanks!
Well, im attempting to get better at art, but i can't seem to draw freehand, i try and draw things but i can only seem to draw things while looking at them, any advice you have for me at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Kyle! The thing to do is to try and visualize what you want to draw in your mind. It doesn't have to be anything exact. Actually, the image I draw is never exactly what I envision (and it's never as good as I want it to be). I believe that's an artist's curse, though, trying to draw what one imagines but never getting it quite as perfect as what was in the imagination. It does keep the artist trying to improve and I guess that's the reason why it works that way.
Wow, "Thanks!", you are an amazing artist, and having advice from you seriously means quite a bit, keep up the good work, and also i have so much respect for you, you reply to literally every comment i've seen on here, truly great.
As a rule, I am not putting up instructional videos. I'm not even good at explaining to others how to draw, I just draw. And there is a reason to put up drawing videos other than someone might try and learn to draw from them, and that is to show the work. That's why we have museums, and books, and magazines, and, yes, videos.
I prefer to use my videos to show my work, and the drawing videos where I am actually drawing are done so people can watch it being created. (continued)
If someone can learn something from my drawing videos, that is awesome. But, I do not set out to make actual training videos. I have to find the time to do a regular drawing video as it is, and, as I already noted, I am not good at explaining how to draw.
I'm not really good at explaining how to draw, unfortunately. It is easier for me to just do it. I do have the videos where you see me draw the pictures that might help in some way. Thanks!
Amazing! Totally awesome interpretation of the suit (most artists can't draw it consistently). The coloring was cool too. How'd you do those color effects on the armor? Was it just the Photoshop brush tool, or the gradient tool?
you are very good at drawing, i draw but not as good as you, your way better then me. I like how you did your other videos as well, by drawing with the camera on so we can watch you do it, when i try i screw up so bad that i can't post them.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not too good at explaining how to draw. The most important things to work on, though, is anatomy, perspective, and light and shadows.
