  • I am no expert, so I will say that for enjoyment purposes (which is what music is all about) I give a thumbs up :)

  • his outfit doesn't match the scenery

  • If I might insert my 2 cents, he's playing in the wind, in scenery that would rate an 18 on a scale of 1 to 10 any day. I think the idea here is to let go of your carefully schooled notions and let your spirit fly. MIGHT the slightly off-chromatic notes just be part of this wild and gorgeous whole?

  • I need to second cldavis...this is great fiddling, better than I could do, but intonation is one of the issues that really sets apart a superb fiddler....Intonation is key, and has nothing to do with "style"...

  • nice job my cousin play's this as a madley with liberty two-step

  • no, it is not too rushed, this song is supposed to be fast and the sound is great. i love this song, you did a great job!

  • Thanks for the encouragement!

  • good fiddling!! and the scenery adds to your great fiddling,,keep it up

  • Very cool!! This is right up my alley!

  • Gene loved the song and the scenery!

  • lawl

    nice view XD

  • You need more of an old time rhythm, its too rushed. But your bowing is pretty good and its a great setting!

  • wow! i'm like speechless! wow!

  • Awesome. I subbed.

  • Had me rockin in my chair and tappin my feet!

    Thanks

  • Thanks for listening!

  • 'Very nice' technical stuff...focus now more on intonation to take your music up another level and close the gap- without even having to practice the fast technical work. As good as your technical ability is, your tuning should catch up to match now.

    Nice tune!

  • Thanks CL! I think your suggestion makes sense and is worth working on. Truly appreciate your advice.

  • Your "intonation" or lack thereof mentioned in another comment, is what makes your fiddling sound authentic and old time. Be your own fiddler. Perfect, classical "fiddler" are a dime a dozen. Keep your own style. The imperfecions is what makes it sound real and appealing.

  • Good point. There is more to fiddling than being perfect! Thanks for the encouragement

  • Nobody will be perfect. But good intonation makes for some damn good sounding fiddlin'!

  • No, no, and no. Does Mark O'Connor have intonation as an issue? Playing out of tune makes a person sound ---well, out of tune - no other way to say it. Phrasing well in folk style is what makes it sound old time. All good muscians shoudl strive to play with good intonation period - end of discussion.

  • @wvg4800 pretty doggone good, I'd say.
