The opera part comes from opera Lucia di Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti and was written in 1835; it has been performed all over the world and by many a great opera singer since then - including Inva Mula who sings here and who also sang a complete role in La Scala and other opera theaters. I think that the costume is very simple in composition, yet beautiful. The fall that adorns her feet is simply gorgeous, it's obviously a mermaid cut, yet it's much more low, open and flighty. The elongated head and face make up gives her an alien look without taking away any emotions, the tentacles add on to the alien feel, but flow rather calmly with her movements. This is one of many popular sources that inspires my art.
