Reading that the options to create grapple moves in WWE 12 suck ass makes me think of WWF No Mercy and what some people made out of it. Especially D2A and JamStubbs.
I was talking to someone on a different video about the same thing yesterday. It is frustrating at times. The aerial and turnbuckle(to a point) moves are, for the most part, fine, but man, trying to create a decent looking grapple move is a chore, if not impossible, at times.
Wow that Scott Steiner Screw Driver I had never seen before, but that is Scott Steiner's finisher from WCW vs NWO World Tour!!!!!!!!!!! I always wondered where they got that from.
In Japan, they focus heavily on strengthening their necks. Also, the tour system helps a bit, as they wrestle for three weeks, have three off, and so on.
@cmpunkfan2003 The funny thing is this: whenever I see a Hogan Match in Japan, he uses the Leg Drop and the opponent always kicks out, leaving Hogan flustered at first but then he remembers that this is Japan and here he needs a more devastating move...so he finishes his matches with the AXE BOMBER! XD
@michasx90 but submissions could mostly tear a muscle or something like that. Powerslams can be dangerous to the spine too but nothing is as dangerous as getting dropped on your head. I still remember to this day the shocking moments after Owen Hart hit a botched sitdown Tombstone Piledriver on Steve Austin at Summerslam 97 where Austin landed flat on his head. He was paralysed for at least a Minute until he could move again and his neck was fucked up for the rest of his career.
Very good compilation, although I would recommend KENTA's Go 2 Sleep. Yes, some opponents avoid real impact by jumping back and overselling it, but braver opponents (e.g. Misawa) take incredibly brutal impact.
How did Kobashi not die from the Homicide Backdrop he literally was dropped straight on his head. Same can be said for Misawa taking the Kawada Driver
@guitarhero2677 The better question is how Misawa agreed to take the Kawada Driver a second time? The first one at least was just a botch because of Kawada's broken arm but how could he believe it would be a good idea to do that move again on purpose?
Misawa(and to a point, most of the upper AJPW crew) had a desire to raise the bar time and time again. Plus, I have a feeling that Misawa knew to some degree that the 2005 match would be the final match between Kawada and Misawa, thus he wanted to leave nothing on the table, so to speak.
Shouldn't there be at least a few second rope / top rope / avalanche moves up as the most dangerous moves of all time, surely there more dangerous than the mid ring versions
Shouldn't there be at least a few second rope / top rope / avalanche drivers up as the most dangerous moves of all time, surely there more dangerous than the mid ring versions
The thing is that any Avalanche move has additional danger due to the added height. If Avalanche moves were included, that's all the video would include.
@TheSuicidalDragon Fare call, sounds like a good idea for a new video though :) , "The Greatest Avalanche Moves Of All Time" perhaps?, I've seen a fairly small amount of Japanese wrestling but I'd recommend , second turnbuckle Boarder Toss (Hernandez) , top rope Lyger Bomb (Bully Ray) he did it straight to the matt (no tables) to Styles last weekend, and the Avalanche Huvi Driver
@TheSuicidalDragon: Do you have a list that includes El Generico's brainbustah? I've seen your montage, but I was wondering if it is on any "most dangerous" lists of yours. I'm nowhere near the expert on wrestling you are, but to my eyes it's the most dangerous move I've ever seen... even without El Generico stomping his feet for emphasis.
I believe I included it in the Turnbuckle Moves list.
It's indeed a dangerous move. However, with these lists, Avalanche moves aren't generally included due to their inherently dangerous nature, that's all the list would include if they were allowed.
@antman62392 That's because Japanese wrestling takes women wrestlers seriously, instead of just being "divas", which means walking tits, ass & heavily applied cosmetics for teenaged boys & old lechers to salivate over. I wish that WWE would get serious with their women & have some proper wrestling role models for girls regardless of whether their looks fit today's standards of beauty or not.
I think all these wrestler serioulsy injured their neck or got brain damage. while I would like to see the piledriver back again in wwe but most of these moves they can left out imo.
@weecam27 No, Triple H never used the Kudome Valentine aka Gringo Killer aka Undrehook Pildriver aka Put Whatever Name You Want Here. Homicide is pretty much one of the few people that use it...
@razordawn666 The video of HHH using it (I remember seeing an old video of him using it back in his early days in the WWF in 1995 or 1996) , that isn't a Kudome Valentine, that is a Botched Pedigree; He was supposed to jump and the opponent was supposed to land FACE FIRST , the opponent got in a vertical base and instead dropped on his head .
@runer131 I know the match you're speaking of. Some guy who was in hot pink candy stripes.
According to what I've read in that match the opponent thought "Trips" was going for a Tiger Driver. So he posted his legs straight out. And...lost about three inches of height. The guys is still alive despite popular belief. And he's not a vegetable or paraplegic. I just don't think he wrestles.
while i agree some of the drivers are bad, i don't see why the hell the Razor's Edge isn't on here.
think about it:
Scott Hall is 6'6" and probably has about a 76"-80" reach, so that's about 3 and a half feet an arm.
so basically you're up about 9-10 feet in the air and then straight down on the back of your head and shoulders.
Only reason I bring it up is because i did it to a guy once in a fight and it smashed his shoulder blades, messed up some vertebrae, AND gave him a concussion!
@TheSuicidalDragon It's been bothering me for awhile, but why the hate on the CD? Sure it's not the greatest move in the history of wrestling, but it's by no means terrible.
@TheSuicidalDragon And the double pump orange crush isn't? I know to each there own and all that, but I can't help but think it's because of the move's hype more then the move itself that people don't like.
Wow.. been watching your vids, absolutely awesome collection.. but I have to admit; this set is probably the best listed as "Moves you use to literally kill your opponent", 'cause one wrong move and that is it!
all the Japanese announcers reactions to some of the finishers are fantastic! It sounds as if somebody has tore off their hands, and lit their retina's on fire. It paints a mental image of what I I feel is their facial expression when the moves are done.
Well that and.......the same facial expression that "OMG CAT" does.
I liked them all up till i seen the florescent light bulbs cuz thats a prop with no business in the ring, but then i liked it again. Great vids man, checking them all out.
@KillMePrtyPlz Ganso Bomb's a sheerdrop powerbomb, Kawada Driver is a vertical drop powerbomb. Both were created accidentally, the first from a botched piledriver, the other from a botched powerbomb.
@TheSuicidalDragon have you don a top 10 of i think you call it, end all finishers. one's that no one has kicked out of? would be a good vid if you haven't.
Great video. To be honest when I first clicked on this I expected to see John Cena's "FU"(fireman carry) or the "You Can't See Me" or shit like that because all of the newb wrestling fans eat that shit up. I checked out some of your other vids and I'm so glad there are still real wrestling fans out there that appreciate ability, athleticism, and innovation and not just the soap opera dribble on prime time T.V. Keep up the great work!
What about the Backdrop suplex? It may look like a common move but its the same move that killed Mitsuharu Misawa which causes damages to the spine and also the swan dive flying headbutt is also dangerous because it causes damages to neck and spinal areas most notably the brain. Dynamite Kid got paralysed after years of using it and may caused the depression that drive Chris Benoit into a tragic suicide, sorry for typing so much but thats my opinion
Love the video, like I love all of your videos. My only complain is that I feel the Kawada driver and the tiger driver '91 shouldn't count 'cause they were just botched other moves. But, great list, regardless. I never noticed how Kobashi's burning hammer is so different than the 800,000 indy wrestlers who also use it. His is more of a head drop.
Of those two, only the Kawada Driver was produced out of a botch(originally, as it became a true to form move in later years). The TD '91 was around before Misawa began using it.
Same move, yep. I simply enjoy Kudo's a bit more, in all honesty. One of the few moves in wrestling where the innovator still does it the cleanest, in my opinion.
Where the hell is the canadian destroyer? or the Flying Bombshell from chris candido? And that one move is call a mexican stretch buster. The Guerrero family does it and calls it the El Paso
@14zup I don't know him. i stumbled upon this, and then educated myself on indie wrestling. Then do you think he'd hate that match between quackenbush and claudio? The one with the unrealistic flip piledriver?
Thanks a lot SD. I've watched your videos all the time. I Hope this will help me in my SvR 2009 video game but anyways, the Kudome Valentine for me is the best and will always be the greatest and the most devastating finisher ever because it has the uniqueness of the move. First, the user will twist the opponent, lift em' up and finally dropping it driving the opponents head first into the mat plus there's a possibility that the opponent receiving it will have a neck injury, that's why its great
Those moves should be banned all over, it's not worth a man's life :(

@BillyPoynter64 what... what have I been doing with my life..

Kudome Valentine's like my all-time favorite finisher. Thank Jeebus it's number 2 here
14zup 1 year ago
dude the Kudome Valentine is being used as "Homicide's" finishing move known as the "Gringo Killer" on TNA

Same move, yep. I simply enjoy Kudo's a bit more, in all honesty. One of the few moves in wrestling where the innovator still does it the cleanest, in my opinion.

No Omega Driver?

Where the hell is the canadian destroyer? or the Flying Bombshell from chris candido? And that one move is call a mexican stretch buster. The Guerrero family does it and calls it the El Paso

I dislike the Canadian Destroyer, and Avalanche moves aren't included, and have a video of their own.

@TheSuicidalDragon Why do you dislike the Canadian Destroyer
TheWrestlerNation 1 year ago
The move is just too over the top.

@TheSuicidalDragon what about more bang for your buck
TheWrestlerNation 1 year ago
A hell of a move by a fun tag team.

@TheSuicidalDragon agreed.

If you knew Dragon at all, you'd know he'd NEVER have the Canadian Destroyer in any of his videos. Too unrealistic for him, and I have to agree.

@14zup I don't know him. i stumbled upon this, and then educated myself on indie wrestling. Then do you think he'd hate that match between quackenbush and claudio? The one with the unrealistic flip piledriver?

Ask him yourself. He can tell you how he feels better than I can

@14zup I've read what he's said on other videos. He kinda hates it.

Kudome Valentine the best ever ..
Jefferson3051 1 year ago 7
Thanks a lot SD. I've watched your videos all the time. I Hope this will help me in my SvR 2009 video game but anyways, the Kudome Valentine for me is the best and will always be the greatest and the most devastating finisher ever because it has the uniqueness of the move. First, the user will twist the opponent, lift em' up and finally dropping it driving the opponents head first into the mat plus there's a possibility that the opponent receiving it will have a neck injury, that's why its great
