I think House has been hospitalized more than all of his patients. It happens at least a couple of times a season, typically because of his own stupidity/curiosity. I still love him, he amuses me.
@infradig8 - If I recall correctly, when he was looking at the bike, sort of wishing, the salesman came out and explained about the bike and said they could make a modification to it for him.
It is backstory stuff, revealed in some "flashbacks" from the first season. He had a blood clot in his leg which led to muscle death and had to have a chunk of muscle removed. He's permanently handicapped. All of this happened before when the show is taking place. He's always had a limp and a cane on the show.
In the episode "Three Stories", House said "Because of the extent of the muscle removed, utility of the patients leg was severely compromised. Because of the time delay in making the diagnosis, patient continues to experience chronic pain." Can someone explain to me how the delay caused the chronic pain?
See. Its like cancer. if you catch it early you can fix it. some cancer anyway. Now if they caught it early right, they could have stopped it faster before it started destroying more muscle ... I think
Because the infarctioin was like a heart attack in his leg it cut off bloodflow leading to muscle death since it was delayed there was more muscle death meaning more removed meaning more pain.
