  • dude i'm 16 years old and i love the delfonics :) this is my favorite song from them

  • Love this tune. One of their very best.

  • Were is understatement! they are great and every generation loves them! I remember playing this music in my teens and I think every other mexican teen, of any generation, can relate to this music.

  • Yes, the Delfonics were wonderful. So were the Moments and the Stylistics and the Spinners. This was real soul music, not the crap being marketed as "R&B" today. Why aren't they making records like this anymore? Thom Bell, where are you now that we need you!?

  • can they make a song that dosn't cause tears to fall ? too great for words.

  • i appreciate the oldies....they r to be held in contrast to all other forms of music since this is a genre of multiple musical sounds....seriously this song is beautiful

  • This song build my self esteem about my self i thougth i was ugly cause i did,nt look like the other girls ,but i had a beauty of my own that,s when i knew who i was

  • theres someone for everyone, its just hard to find that special one. and when you do , you do the best you can keep [ him or her ]

  • A great and underrated masterpiece.

  • The black man says SOMEBODY LOVES YOU ...

    a to his church congregation

b to his girl out on the street, which means she BETTER bring home some money

  • Right now in My mind , I am sailing home from Vietnam Aboard a Navy warship. I picked this album up in HongKong along with a Battery Powered turtable and a couple of Suits. We wore suites back then. I sit on the Fantail(back of the ship) and play this over and over until the batteries run out. I thought I was coming home to My girl friend I left, but that wasn't supposed to happen. But the negative turned into a positive fast. I could have gotten a dear John U know over seas. ha ha

  • I remember the Delfonics, this song was great when i graduated from high school in 1968. I have a lot of their 45's. Yes, I do cry ,everytime I play their songs or watch their videos. I will never forget them!!

  • I sang this song to Su-Ann, my 8th grade love..but she thought my buddy Todd sent me over to tell her that HE loved her...DUH!

  • This was a great flipside of their hit, "Ready Or Not, Here I Come (Can't Hide From Love)" - this tune charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 72 in early 1969-

  • @christheone8773 I listened to Cousin Brucie on WABC New York.

  • THIS SONG IS THE JAMMM..WOW !

  • a true master piece, great oldie but goodie.

  • Randy Cain sang with all his heart and Soul ... Delfonics 4Ever ..

  • My brother remembers Randy Cain from Lincoln University days. I was in highschool. Always liked the Philadelphia sound. Intruders, Delphonics, Esquires,

  • The Delfonics were the sound of Philadelphia. You could see them and other great groups that the Uptown Theater. Man this song bring back wonder memories of how wonderful life was before RAP music

  • I have to agree. I do not like Rap. I do not like Hip Hop. And I can't stand exaggerated BASS beats thundering down the road. But, hey, I'm over 50.

The knew how to write beautiful melodies back then.

  • My sentiments exactly. At least we had ROMANCE then so well articulated by soul groups like the Delfonics, The Dells, The Sylistics, The Dramatics and so many more balladeers of love.

  • I saw them in concert when I was 12 years old. I was about 15 feet from the stage. I'm 53 now. I grew up singing in talent shows. They were one of my favorite groups. The group I sang with in the 10th grade even had a similar outfit made that the Delphonics wore when I was in the 7th grade. I still have pictures of me in that outfit. They cancelled the talent show that year...soooooooangry

  • you saw them in concert, you are so lucky!

sorry i'm french and i don't understand all that you whrote(shame on me), but i just can say that the sound of the delfonic is so good to me, to my life...this is just wonderful..(you know, french people loves the oldies..)

i love it, thank for posting, panchonann!

LOL. Fun times, I remember. Can't seem to tear myself away from this you tube soul genre. Yeah, I wore those hot pants, should have seen me then. Cute, cute, cute LOL

  • I had the good fortune to see and hear them sing this song live back in the day. man oh man!!!!! if you think this is beautiful, words can't express the magnifcence of william's live performance when he was at his peak!! simply divine

  • Randy Cain, one of the original founding members of The Delfonics passed away Thursday April 9, 2009. May he rest in Gods tender arms.

  • I really think of all music old soul is my fav!!! :)

  • This is one of the Delfonics forgotten classics from the 70's

  • I love the part in the song when he says your so dogone pretty. They truly don't write them like this anymore. They sound great soaring over this Thomas bell arrangement. When the Delphonics were at their peak they allways had great albums that had at least three too four songs that weren't hits, that in my mind just as good as some of their biggest hits!

  • Beautiful falsetto vocals ! As well as the strings arrengement. I'm a big fan of The Delfonics, "Philly Grooove",yeah!

  • now this is good oll rnr music

  • they dont make music like this anymore.

  • One of the most underrated R&B/Soul groups. To me they just happen to be the best! With their great body of work-they should of been inducted into the hall of fame already. I hope someday soon they get in.

  • in philly, in the summer time,we used to block the streets in the morning.turn on the water plug and each neighbor would clean their part of the street..there was a girl on my block that i was crazy about..30 years later...im still crazy about her....

  • This is one of the best songs ever performed. These gentelman are in a class all their own. I just can't get enough of them. They were to me the best R&B/Soul group of their era.
