when he says you arent allowed to interpret classical music, thats not true at all. people do that all the time. improvising is not the same as interpreting.
I like how he says near the start "and I just thought y'know...(plays amazing guitar riffs with casual look on him) was a lot cooler than before". What a legend. =)
I love his music ... one thing I don't like is that he can be a show off sometimes... I hate to say it but sometimes I just don't like when he is just playing fast and expecting smiles....
Joe is sooo great, so talented, litlle bit akward but that is sympathic. I agree with you thecosmicstring that it's a shame he's not recognized yet. Blues forever
Could be a million - licks like that will be something he's improvised on the spot - if not, it would be impossible to pinpoint a single song cause you could probably find thousands of blues numbers with the sane lick in it
A valid question, really. A lot of musicians have high functioning autism, also known as Asberger's syndrome. Most prodigies have this which enables them to focus with strict determination and patience on their specific field of interest. EJ, a source of inspiration for Joe, is a good example of this, having devoted his entire life to relentlessly persue the perfect technique, gear and tone. Very bright and gifted people Asbergians.
It's amusing to watch Joe express himself in words. His kermit the frog tone in his voice actually helps to give him a very unique texture to his vocals. He is very down to earth, which is so rare in today's guitar hero world.
B.B. King hit the nail on the head when he said that Joe would be a legend at the age of 25! I think he's got the soul of SRV,the speed of Santanna (and then some),the imagination of Hendrix, the passion of Joplin, but most of all, the humbleness of B.B himself. He'll carry the "blues torch" from Alpine Valley on to the young people of today who wouldn't otherwise get a taste of the blues if he weren't here. Carry on Joe, carry on!
You know! :D

He's so annoying. Major respect to him though on the musical front. He does rip off gary moore and eric johnson though ...
