  • the group could be from the target sights. my mak shot like shit till i got rid of those loose flimbsy target sights.

  • What powder and how much? Have you worked any more on this? I just got a p64 and am considering reloading with cast because of cost.

  • i have 9mm and kill anybody :D

  • I love that " yea it is" ........ " shit"

  • I would be very careful on shooting reload on a commercial makarov. Mine blew up after shooting 2 rounds of factory loaded ammo. The gun was brand new and baikal is trying to blame it on the ammo.

  • @2damaxmr2 Thats why you buy military Makarovs.

  • I bought a 380 makarav, the most accurate handgun I have ever shot man, I am telling you man. The russian sure know how to make fire arms.

  • Dog doesn't seem to mind the noise. My Labrador would be long gone after the first shot. LOL!

  • I can give you one tip. Don't hold your finger on the trigger guard ring :)

  • its called round not group!

  • @Krucible99 I don't know what you're talking about. He's talking about a group of shots that hit the target. Sure the shots were from bullet "rounds." But what are you talking about? Maybe his group is not too much of a tight group, but seriously, what are you talking about?

  • Looks like you had a little bit of keyholing

  • cool vid, I miss my Mak it sounded exactly the same I sold mine it was pretty accurate

  • Your buddy limp wrists real bad i believe

  • you are the best christmas gifter ever dude. if i got a mak for christmas. id be happier then hillbilly in a tapco store

  • umm where do u find the commercial makarov pistols

  • "udder dan dis we like to eat some taters and watch nascar

  • @tannen360-- Your an ignorant, pompous asshole. Just by generalizing these people off a youtube video shows how snug you are. Do you think these people generalize based on culture and post crap comments on youtube? Probably not. Clearly they're smarter and more open-minded than you are.

  • @xanderschwab Yeah, I'm glad somebody told him. I was thinking of something to say as well. Maybe he's just jealous at these guys going out showing the world how proud they are of their Makarov. Looks like a decent little gun. But yeah, the nerve of that wad. And to top it off he's a Led Zeppelin fan, surely not. He's giving Led Zeppelin fans like myself a bad rap. Maybe I'll have to send him a personal message telling him I know a perfect trailer for sale real cheap, right up his alley.

  • @tannen360 5 bucks you got a beer gut and you were watching nascar while your trailer was sitting in some trailer park

  • What powder did you use? I have used accurate #5 and unique with this bullet and tend to prefer the unique.

  • ... couldn't you have at least leashed yer dog? How dare you fire a gun when an animal is close by? :-/

  • If these are water dropped, then they are likely hard, maybe way too hard for the polygonal rifling.

I have some "Made" 9X18 brass, and a mold,so will have to try it with a softer bullet and see what I get.

  • Its pronounced: muh-KAR-uhv...do your research people!!

  • Man there a lot of haters out here...

  • I don´t think this are good results. With your hands on the storage, from this distance.... Either the guns are so bad or you guys cant`t shoot. I shoot better than that standing with one hand holding with my sigsauer. But anyway cool vid!

  • @MrNoise666 You couldn't have watched the whole video...

  • @MrNoise666 ........you guys cant`t shoot. I shoot better than that standing with one hand holding with my sigsauer.

What??? Are you the fuckin Voroshilov or what ???

  • @MrNoise666 can you get any further up your own arse!?!

  • @MrNoise666 What were you trained by the spetznaz on the art of not moving, breathing, or flinching when you fire the 9x18 there comrade?

  • I was getting groups tighter than that at 15 yards with Augila and Wolf 95gr factory loads. but then again it was at an indoor range.

  • Are they 3 bucks for 50?

  • i use mine for self defense, so price doesn't mater for me. I'd rather have expensive and accurate than cheap and saprratic.

  • @KironStrife

You are either really ignorant, or you just didn't watch the whole video.

  • @KironStrife

You saw the group at 4:34 right?

  • ya it was tighter than that. but not much.

  • The S&B stuff is very good if you are wanting some good factory ammo. Brass is also reloadable.

The Wolf, Brown Bear, etc offerings are decent. I've tried them all, but honestly, the cast rounds shoot the best in my gun. I realize that every gun is different and they all like different things...

  • thats a nice pistol My father has the same its just better.....

  • lol...yes custom made.

  • I am a big fan of Berry's plated 95 grain 9x18mm projectiles... I loaded them with 3.8 grains of accurate number 2 and they make a great target round. in my P-64 My cz 82 and my bulgarian makarov.

  • @Dietzeeeee

I like them too, but in terms of being cheap, the cast bullets are tough to beat. They are damn accurate for what they are too.

I like using Clays in the Makarov and Titegroup.

Might have to try some Accurate No. 2.

How do you like the P-64?

  • @Iraqveteran8888 I made a full review on the P-64 if you want to see it... I use it as my summer carry gun. I loved it only after I made some necessary changes to it. I have load data available for it and what I liked if your interested... I have 2 lbs of tite group in the mail mostly for 32 acp and experimental 7.62 nagant ammo. If only primmers were more available. Yeah check out my P-64 review... I think you will like it !!!

  • @Dietzeeeee

I will check it out ASAP my man.

LOTS of pokers in the fire at the moment.

(hopefully my channel is going to take some positive turns in the near future)

  • How did you size the lee Makarov bullets?

  • @frankiefishing

I don't size them at all.

I load them as dropped. The brass needs a little bit more of a flaring than normal, but after about 4 loadings, it hasn't seemed to hurt the brass life more than normal.

That is my handgun, although my Makarov loads cycle good through every Mak I have put them through.

Great little playing round and cheap to boot

  • I haven't seen this vid Eric! Nice collection of pistols there, I wanna play!!!!

  • Have you tried these cast bullets in a Polish P64 or don't you own one? I have been real interested in getting a P64 if I can find one for sale other than online.

  • I like the Polish P64, but as many Makarovs as I own, I haven't really found the need to pick one up yet, unless of course for collection purposes.

The Lee cast bullets should shoot really good out of any 9x18mm gun with standard rifling.

As far as I know, the P64 has traditional rifling, so you should be good.

  • The correct pronunciation of Makarov is actually "Mah KAR ahv" and not the more frequently heard "MACK uh rahv.

  • I am aware of that...I just choose to say it like a redneck...lol

  • I had a girlfriend who was half russian and her favorite hockey player was Sergei Makarov. Her Russian Dad told me that was how you say it. For the pistol and the player.

  • Are you still selling the Maks? If so how much, and do you got a vid up showing close-ups of their condition. I have been wanting one, for my everyday carry. Let me know. I trust you, I see your a Veteran, If I like the price, I'll send you a money order, and have you ship it to a gun dealer, to get him to register it under my name.

  • Oh! I see you are also on Ebay, so let me know.

  • I don't have any guns for sale right now.

In the future, if there are any peices I decide to liquidate, I will post details in a youtube video so my viewers can have an oppurtunity to own them.

I don't deal with Ebay or Paypal anymore....screw them.

  • Score one for me.

  • Hey what type of Bullet Lube did you use? I was going to reload for my CZ 82, but I hate to buy all the stuff if it is just going to lead. Could you try the Lee Alox and see if it leads. I have never had a gun Lead with Lee Alox. I know it is a little nasty but I have had great results with it. Is there anything that you have found on the internet?

  • I am using the Darr's formula in this video, but lately I have been using 50/50 Alox and Besswax to excellent results.

Alox as a lube is decent, but I don't prefer tumble lube bullet molds too terribly much.

I suppose you could lube standard bullets with Alox to good effect.

I have lots of bullets lube recipes I am messing with.

  • Could you give it a try for me before I go and invest in reloading stuff to reload for the cz-82 if it does not work, then I would forget reloading for it. But if it does than it may be worth it. I already make cast for 7.62x39, 7.62x54, 7.5x55 and 30/30. I like the way that I can make bullets cheap. You can't always get commercial Mak round cheap. Thanks for your great videos.

  • I will try it but I will need a little time. We are having cruddy weather in Georgia this week, so as soon as things clear up and I can hit the range, I'll shoot the video.

It will be easy, because I alread have several rounds loaded up.

  • Thanks, It is interesting I have the same tastes in Rifles and reloading. Except you are more experienced. I just reload because it is cheap, Pretty much use Lee Stuff because it is cheap and it works. Thanks for your insights.

  • Isn't a Makarov very similar to a .380 round? I think .380 is 9x17 ? Cant remember.

  • Makarov is pretty close to .380.

Makarov bullet diameter is .365 while a .380 is closer to .357 in diameter.

The casing on a .380 is closer to 17mm...

9x19, 9x18, 9x17...kind of an interesting relationship between the cartridge designations if you think about it.

  • nice nice Russian civilian mak I have a Bulgarian Military mak

  • Yeah the Makarov doesn't play. I love the design and the cartridge.

  • so sexy

  • Holy friggin crap, nice groups!

  • Thank you...the Makarov is a GREAT little equalizer.

  • can a 9x18 fire in a 9x19 like a .38 special can fire in a .357 mag ???

  • No...a 9x18mm Makarov bullet measures .365 and a 9mm Luger measures .358

  • DAMN DOG!!! LMAO!!!

  • Hmm, maybe I should buy a Makarov, plenty of ammo, just as long as I have converted 9mm Para, to .380

Can I get a surplus, those are really cheap, and I could fix her up.

  • interesting pistol

  • Just wondered if you used any kind of sizing die? My mold is .365 but all of the other bullets I have loaded were .364. If you havent triied the brass conversion do so, it works great!

  • I plan on converting as soon as I have the right stuff. The bullets are shot as dropped...They are quenched.

  • Did you use converted brass?

  • No...this is Starline brass.

I plan on converting a while mess of 9mm (I probably have 5000 laying around) once I get the right case trimming stuff.

I want to upgrade to the Forster Case trimmer.

  • I have some old 9mm brass laying around. Would you like me to send you it to put it to good use?

  • Thanks for the thought...I've already got a million laying around unless you need me to convert some for you.

  • Lol. I don't plan on reloading soon but i would just like to put my brass to good use. I also have 19 pieces of once fired 8mm mauser brass (remington) .

  • Hold onto all of it unil you have enough to stuff a flat rate box full. If you don't want it, I'll sure take it. I can use any .45 ACP, 9mm, 10mm Auto, 8mm Mauser, 7.5x55mm, 6.5x55, etc.

Basically any surplus hard to find caliber. If you have it laying around I'll make it work your time to hold onto all of it.

    That would help alot...thanks.

  • sure will. A good shooter helping another.

  • Thanks for the consideration.
