RZA said himself that he wishes he could have written the record. So what do hiphop producers do when they find it difficult to make original music? They sample brilliant artists like the beatles and more specifically in wutang's case, old soul and motown records. I think sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't. What RZA did for wutang early on was creative in its own right and for the most part worked. I think re-working this Beatle's song was a mistake and end result was flat and boring

Writing words is extremely simple, esp when it's all 'i fucked this bitch, im the best rapper alive' etc. Writing music is difficult. Wu tang writes their lyrics, but they sample music written by other songwriters, either that or they play a keyboard and make extremely simple music. From what i know a Producer doesnt have to do anything but tell people what to play or kanye there way through. Effectively, sampling. (tell the person what to play then loop and add drums) a beatmaker is known as a programmer/engineer. I also heard that some producers (DRE) buy other people's beats an put them out as their own.

RZA said himself that he wishes he could have written the record. So what do hiphop producers do when they find it difficult to make original music? They sample brilliant artists like the beatles and more specifically in wutang's case, old soul and motown records. I think sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't. What RZA did for wutang early on was creative in its own right and for the most part worked. I think re-working this Beatle's song was a mistake and end result was flat and boring

Writing words is extremely simple, esp when it's all 'i fucked this bitch, im the best rapper alive' etc. Writing music is difficult. Wu tang writes their lyrics, but they sample music written by other songwriters, either that or they play a keyboard and make extremely simple music. RZA is actually kind of a cool guy, but i'm sure he can't write or play 'MUSIC', for shit. He can just throw stuff together and produce semi-ok rap records, that get overhyped because we all have to like rap, now.

jayxavier you are completely wrong. firstly the Wu and all its members are incredible lyricists. EMCEES NOT RAPPERS. they have conscous raps that tell stories, with amazing vocabulary and metaphors, put on a few or their albums ull know what im talking about, dont act like you know what you;re saying because you've heard the songs that get all the radio play. they are pioneers.
And as for the RZA, sampling music is an art, you need immense knowledge of music, rhythm and creativity to do so

I love all kinds of music as long as it soothes my ear. I listen to rock, classic, hip hop and whatever. I agree, hip hop isnt always the most intelligent music, alot of lyrics is just plain childish (come on, grown men talkin about money, bitches and hoes, not original and downright dumb), but as long as its catchy and/or funny im with it. im just wandering. Just Blaze, Stoupe, Dj Premier, Pete Rock, dr. dre, and even RZA. Do they play any instruments besides sampling boards and turntables. Can they play pianos or guitars, or do they get someone else to do it. Because i kno the difference between a producer and a beatmaker. And most of da beatmakers i know only use samples and synthetic drums. Are any other live instruments done by them, or do they just direct the music, and slap buttons. From what i know a Producer doesnt have to do anything but tell people what to play or kanye there way through. Effectively, sampling. (tell the person what to play then loop and add drums) a beatmaker is known as a programmer/engineer. I also heard that some producers (DRE) buy other people's beats an put them out as their own.

and flava flav is a classically trained pianist and trombonist, so you never know what sorta odd things these underestimated musicians can do.
