Yeah I agree; the right set up is what counts. I have a crappy old 10in off brand sub, but if I hook it up to my Rockford Fosgate P300.1, it really pounds if set right.
The Kicker CompVT's and the solo baric's all have santoprene stitched surrounds. Santoprene is durable to 60 below to hotter than it will ever get in your car. Mine is 3 years old and I pound it everywhere, (when no one else is in the car) The box is built like a brick crapper and I couldn't be happier. For that little space, it kicks! It will vibrate the mirrors to point of no use, raise your hair. They're well made. I almost never hear anyone who has their gains set right, on any system.
@MAP1086 i always have my gains set correctly. But in my vids in some of them the camera sucks and you cant hear any bass. Also dont have a system in my car anymore. I need a new alternator and batter, also need to be re-wired,all that will come summer time.

I have a regular cab 94 S-10 with a Kicker CompVT 12" that came with the enclosure. It's rated at 400 rms. I have an Alpine MRP-450 400 rms amp. It's loud. It's not gonna pull a "hair trick," but it sounds like a home stereo, not a beating box. I have Infinity ref. coax in the doors, Inf. ref.comp. in the kick panels, a ref. tweeter mounted above the door speaker, one on the sail panel and a set of Boston Ac. 4X6 in the dash. kicker cvr's is the way to go , dont waste your money on kicker cvx's if you look at the manual the kicker cvx only handle 1000rms in a 1.8cuft box. anything else it only handles 500rms. so if you plan on porting or getting a biggest sealed box go with kicker cvr and same yourself 150 bucks. the kicker cvr manual whatever sealed or ported small or big box they all handle the same power 500rms thats one strong sub, makes me think it the same as the kicker cvx just different color

@antz350 all subs are pretty much the same. whatever moves air creates bass. no smart ass "when i fart does it mean i make bass" comments necessary, air moving front to back creates a frequency and the faster the air is moving, the higher the frequency. what really makes a system stand out is the BOX. kicker has a square sub, so you have more surface area. therefore i think kicker is the best air movers. so THEN, ultimately, kicker is the best. :)

@13mrcardin CVRs the sound is cleaner, but L7 is all about big SPL. You will need only 1000 watt amp for CVRS 15" ............you will need 2000 watts (real) watts for the 15" L7s. If you dont want to do major electrical upgrades to your vehicle stay with the CVRs. check my videos under "mayorga22" just search mayorga22
@13mrcardin first of all, you shouldn't be comparing the L7 to the cvr. the CVX is closer in comparison to the L7. it's pretty much the same sub power wise, just the L7 is square and the CVX is round. The difference is the L7 will be slightly louder because of the extra cone area, but the CVX will have more accurate bass because the cone is lighter and is balanced better with the spider.
cvr,cvx, can take more than rated power. i had 800rms going to each of these subwoofers in a 3.0 per chamber box sealed 3 15's. and hit 142 on a real meter. i hit 146 on another meter but wasnt a real test. just a side car show i went too. had a concept 2410. i miss them but i got 2 15in fi btl's now and omg
@MrCorona9 yeah i have 2 ohm dvc CVR's. theyre both wired to 1 ohm in parallel. altogether 2 ohms for both subs. makes it much easier to use more of your amp

@13mrcardin CVRs the sound is cleaner, but L7 is all about big SPL. You will need only 1000 watt amp for CVRS 15" ............you will need 2000 watts (real) watts for the 15" L7s. If you dont want to do major electrical upgrades to your vehicle stay with the CVRs. check my videos under "mayorga22" just search mayorga22

@13mrcardin first of all, you shouldn't be comparing the L7 to the cvr. the CVX is closer in comparison to the L7. it's pretty much the same sub power wise, just the L7 is square and the CVX is round. The difference is the L7 will be slightly louder because of the extra cone area, but the CVX will have more accurate bass because the cone is lighter and is balanced better with the spider.

cvr,cvx, can take more than rated power. i had 800rms going to each of these subwoofers in a 3.0 per chamber box sealed 3 15's. and hit 142 on a real meter. i hit 146 on another meter but wasnt a real test. just a side car show i went too. had a concept 2410. i miss them but i got 2 15in fi btl's now and omg

@MrCorona9 yeah i have 2 ohm dvc CVR's. theyre both wired to 1 ohm in parallel. altogether 2 ohms for both subs. makes it much easier to use more of your amp
