Tiers aren't supposed to determine who you play. It's just an order from the best character to worst character overall.

It also doesn't determine who will win in a match. If a low tier beats a high tier, that doesn't mean the low tier is actually better, it just means that:

a) The player using the low tier character is more skilled.

b) The match-up is in the low tier character's favour.

Melee is more intense.

melee is much faster paced and has more elements such as its speed which make it more intense. I don't blame people for still wanting to keep to melee, it is a more intense experience. Personally, I don't think melee is better than brawl, I think they're both great games. But after getting used to playing one, it can be hard to get used to playing the other.
