My "Cheddar" used to do that...she'd get all excited when she heard water running...if she was out of her cage, she'd fly over or if she was in her cage, she'd insist to be let out by lifting & dropping her food door...she was a trip...

@halorunescaper Well, If he dosent like the water there is many ways to bathe him. You can put him in the shower with you (on the side) And the mist will hit him. or put a bowl of water somewhere. Or you can take a spray bottle and spray him with it.

She wades into it and its like her own personal jecusi. But we have to be holding the dish, and the water has to be the right temperature, and the water has to be going juuusssttt so. I have a lutino cockatiel that fluffs up like that when I blow on him. I'll stand there and blow as hard as I can he just goes nuts for it. He lays flat again the cage bars and lets his wings out and rolls his head, and fluffs and shakes. He gets so happy that he'll come running for it. Your bird is too cute too btw.

@lovesTaylorSwift1313 don't try it, if they don't want it, its best not to stress them out by forcing it. You can offer a few more times, but if they don't take to it on their own its best to let it go. You can try misting them with a spray bottle, or when its warmer outside, (80-90) you can take the cage out side and hose it down with cool (not cold) water and if you use a gentle setting you can keep them in there and hose them down as well.

There are so many videos of cockatiels bathing by themselves... meanwhile my stinky @ss bird would be funky for days if we let him. We tried so many ways to get him to take a bath... sink, bowls, sprays... nothing worked. We had to hand wash him whenever he was dirty... then he'd give us the evil eye for an hour afterwards. LMAO.

@thesparklingdiva16 have you tried just putting his cage in the shower and letting it hit the cage? Its a good way to wash the poop off the cage and my tiels all love it. They peep and groom and have a great ol time in there. I only do it for about fifteen minutes max though, and usually no more than seven or eight minutes, as I have a 19 year old that gets a chill if hes in there for longer.
