They go one to refer to the people who caught the boat/arc. "Tiny men would tell a little joke" or the lie they'd tell once they get off the arc. See, the scientist tried making the robot female, but likely, he screwed up the calculations by doing x-7. x+7 was likely closer to the correct calculations, but I believe the scientist, after wards, was under too much stress or something to make another.
