@tweetnes I enjoy doing laundry... There is a Zen feeling of inner peace that drifts down upon me whenever I'm folding except if I'm folding those &^(&%^&* fitted sheets...
Lmao at Cindy. Boy she was peeved. I think SHE wanted to play video journalist! James was just trying to get his thingy to work. He chose the MAN washer and had some rime to kill :0)
No, Cindy wasn't peeved... She just plays the hardass for fun. We enjoy teasing each other a lot especially when there's a camera rolling. You will have to meet us someday and see what we're really like when we're not in performance mode :)
I was quite impressed with those closeups of those birds in the nest that you posted not long ago... You were using some kind of Sony camcorder for that? Your little Canon Powershot is essentially the same thing I use, but mine doesn't stop on me when I'm in the middle of a vlog :)
Ah well, who needs HD? Uploading and downloading takes sometimes ages for these huge files ;o) He seemed to be pretty impressed when you told him your camera is filming, haha.
Yeah, but to be fair my camera has the exact same controls as all the other Canon digital cameras I've been using for almost four years now, so I'm a bit familiar with how to work it. James is still getting used to a completely new system, and he's having to work his way through a bunch of unfamiliar menus... His video turned out as good and clear as mine when he finally got it going :)
I just don't compress or convert my files much. I import the .AVI files from the camera directly into iMovie HD6, and render in the highest quality possible after editing. A five minute video typically makes a .mov file around 450mb in size. I import that directly into iMovie 08, where the top and bottom get chopped off to make the 16:9
aspect ratio unless I want the 4:3, and then I use the built-in uploader to upload to YouTube...
This particular clip was done differently. I imported the raw file from the camera into iMovie08, dragged it into a new project, grafted on the ending, stuck a transition in there, and uploaded it using iMovie08. I think iMovie08 converts the .AVI file directly to .flv format, but I'm not sure. I think the whole process took fifteen minutes from reading the card to having a viewable video on YouTube.
Back in the 1950s cars had to have V8 engines when a six would have done the job. In fact, six-cylinder Hudsons were unbeatable in stock car races at one time because they went around turns better that the competition. I use relatively cheap digital point and shoot cameras, that are a bit like six cylinder engines but when it comes to editing, I don't compress my files much. I edit in the highest quality possible, and that means big files. That's like going around corners better :)
I had to go to the laundry mat last fall. The only thing I liked about it was you could do about 4 loads at one time in their large ones. I called to ask questions ahead of time because it had been so long since I had been to one. The lady owner said honey don't come at night. Believe me it was some scary people even during the day lol.
I'm one of those who routinely sleeps in the day and I'm up at night. We have to drive half an hour out of town to get to a laundromat that's open all night because they close the one in town that's open latest at eleven... The one we go to is so far out in a small seaside community where there are no scary people. I think they close the ones in Victoria because scary people would move in and sleep and shit on the floor, and they couldn't get rid of them...
I have never seen James in a video where he said nothing. Lol.

But your videos are always great quality. I'm hoping that the new camera lets me get at least that well if not better.

We like going at night because you can use as many machines as you need and you don't have to fight anyone to use the dryers...
