This is a great idea for a show, but the still camera makes it a bit annoying. Maybe if the camera was over your shoulder, or someone else could film you doing it, it'd be much better. I couldn't get a good look at the batarang :(
Hard to believe the UK version of Batman Collectors Edition is so watered down compared to the US. im thinking of getting it anyway as i love the game.
it seems that the batarang forms a single piece with the stand, so it ins't actually possible to detach the batarang from the stand. i'm okay with that since I will use it only to decorate my shelf, but those who boght this edition solely for the batarang and are dissapointed with the fact of it being of scratched plastic and non-detachable can always use it as a template for a metal, smooth and separate batarang.
Hey Alex, just a quick question, I noticed that recently you've started buying multiplats for the PS3 rather than the X360 (i.e. Batman, NFS Shift), why is that? I thought almost all PS360 owners bought multiplats exclusively for the 360.
Good question actually. I bought Batman on the PS3 because of the Joker content, and NFS Shift because there are a large variety of steering wheels available on the PS3. I purchased The Beatles Rock Band on the 360 since all my instruments are there -- so in other words, it depends on what game it is and what bonuses they have.
Jecht is really overpowering on the real doe, that guy hits like a mack truck, but you'll see when you play it. He's one of my main's the rest being Cloud of Darkness and Golbez.
i took my batarang and i painted the edges a metallic silver and glossed the rest of it, so it looks metal. then i took some red color and made drops of blood on one end. it looks amazing now. as for the journal, i love it.
I don't mind the plastic batarang, they're obviously not going to try to get sued over a metal batarang getting stuck in some idiotic kids eye. Also I pulled mine off the stand and it attaches back on just nicely.

Arkham Asylum is a really cool game, but I thought Dissidia sucked. I hate grid games. Maybe it'll be better when I can play against some other people though, but I doubt it.
Dissidia takes a while to get used to. Honestly, I'm no fan of SRPGs but the fighting was enough for me to keep going back. Unfortunately, Ted (another gamesandme member) borrowed it. Batman's great... I'm trying to 100% it right now - and I normally don't do that with my games! Last game I did that with was Mass Effect 2.

Yea the additional covers would be awesome. From what I remember Capcom released huge PDFs of the Okami cover since they messed up and "stole" the cover from IGN's images (it had the IGN watermark)... but nothing beats a good old cardboard slip cover!

I got lucky cause I saw how bad the batarang looked when I bought my copy and returned it back to the gamestop cause I thought it defective. It looked like cheap machine marks on my batarang, I was so disappointed with the packaging it not even being metal (come on eidos even GTA4 gave us a metal case) the employee let me return it and gave me the difference for a regular copy of the game.Save 40$ and just buy the normal copy. if you want a batarang there is metal replicas online for 40 bucks.

I'm saying based off of what I showed, make a decision what version you'd get. Personally, I didn't prefer it. But the quality of the batarang may or may not matter to some - and that the making of disc and the arkham journal helped make the package a bit more bearable.

Yea, the batarang is attached to the stand - and the only way to remove it is by force. I intend to use a lot of force to remove the batarang from the stand as I want to use it as a prop in a future Unboxed video :D

Because publishers have to stop and show their games at E3, which throws off their development schedule by a month -- usually, games that come out in July are in the approval process the month before they come out and are usually released a month later, barring any bugs or crashes.
I pre-ordered Dissidia, so I'm not sure of the DFF covers are for pre-orders only. If you're nice to your local GameStop i'm sure they can just hand you the cover

Dissidia looks sooo amazing. I wish they did a full fleshed out console version, or atleast have a release on the DS as well. I would pick up a PSP just to play this game, but I don't have the money.

Wow it's supposed to be scratched to seem like Batman has used it. Im not saying i like it being plastic or anything, but the scratches are there for a reason, not because of faulty manufacturing.
Yea, I get the point of it. Either way, it's not a big loss. I would've paid for the same amount for the "Making Of" disc and the faux leather inmate dossiers. I'm a sucker for those types of things. Someone in the comments mentioned that COD:MW2 won't have a "Making Of" featurette, which is unfortunate but the art book is a nice treat.

It's not infront of me, but I'm assuming that the stand is attached to the innards of the batarang and its glued together there. I know from memory that that's what it looked like, but I'll go check when I get home.
The Joker challenge map is actually a download on PSN. If you're talking about the "dem bones" pack, its the Batman Arkham Asylum sticker (it's on the back)
Before the text limit actually hit, I was going to say that it's the game that really matters and... I gotta say... it took me an hour to make this video and it was an awesome excuse for me to play Batman: Arkham Asylum. Definitely a good game to start the holiday season off regardless of whatever version people get!
Just for clarification, the reason why I was disappointed with the batarang isn't necessary just because it was plastic, but also because there's really no trim or anything... it's just plain plastic all around with tons of scratches on it. Otherwise, the things that come with the batarang as mentioned - the making of, the Arkham journal, and the slip case, make it worth the purchase.

The batarang doesn't come off the stand. However, with a flathead you can probably move the latch so you can dislodge the batarang off of the stand.

There's a weak plastic hook that prevents anyone from disassembling the batarang from the stand, but nothing a flat-head can't fix ;)

Yo does the batarang even remove from the stand or is it one of those cheap ass statue toys? This looks really disappointing for a 100 dollar value. Maybe 70-75, but not 100. Major rip-off. Glad you gave us the review. Thanks dude and please anwser my question if you can.

Yea, the batarang is attached to the stand - and the only way to remove it is by force. I intend to use a lot of force to remove the batarang from the stand as I want to use it as a prop in a future Unboxed video :D

Because publishers have to stop and show their games at E3, which throws off their development schedule by a month -- usually, games that come out in July are in the approval process the month before they come out and are usually released a month later, barring any bugs or crashes.

I pre-ordered Dissidia, so I'm not sure of the DFF covers are for pre-orders only. If you're nice to your local GameStop i'm sure they can just hand you the cover

Kinda gutted it wasnt metal , but the big box it comes in and all the other stuff you get is great because im a huge batman fan. BUT... if it was more than £60 then i would of got the normal version. good video

Either way, Batman Arkham Asylum shouldn't be missed. It's a great game with some great action and stealth elements and the game itself is worth the wait.

You know if you live near a Fry's Electronics that they still have those Master Chief cat helmet editions. The local GameStop here still has the collector's edition for Assassin's Creed.

Dissidia looks sooo amazing. I wish they did a full fleshed out console version, or atleast have a release on the DS as well. I would pick up a PSP just to play this game, but I don't have the money.

Wow it's supposed to be scratched to seem like Batman has used it. Im not saying i like it being plastic or anything, but the scratches are there for a reason, not because of faulty manufacturing.

Yea, I get the point of it. Either way, it's not a big loss. I would've paid for the same amount for the "Making Of" disc and the faux leather inmate dossiers. I'm a sucker for those types of things. Someone in the comments mentioned that COD:MW2 won't have a "Making Of" featurette, which is unfortunate but the art book is a nice treat.

It's not infront of me, but I'm assuming that the stand is attached to the innards of the batarang and its glued together there. I know from memory that that's what it looked like, but I'll go check when I get home.

The Joker challenge map is actually a download on PSN. If you're talking about the "dem bones" pack, its the Batman Arkham Asylum sticker (it's on the back)

Before the text limit actually hit, I was going to say that it's the game that really matters and... I gotta say... it took me an hour to make this video and it was an awesome excuse for me to play Batman: Arkham Asylum. Definitely a good game to start the holiday season off regardless of whatever version people get!

Just for clarification, the reason why I was disappointed with the batarang isn't necessary just because it was plastic, but also because there's really no trim or anything... it's just plain plastic all around with tons of scratches on it. Otherwise, the things that come with the batarang as mentioned - the making of, the Arkham journal, and the slip case, make it worth the purchase.
