In the past, the FF games seem to have been otherworldly, but took various cues from different nations and different cultures. This game seems to be extremely Asian. The 4 nations, their emblems, and other aspects- I've seen it all before in more than a dozen different anime and Japanese video games. It's just.... I really always looked to the FF series for things that aren't run of the mill.
Hm. this actually looks pretty good. A shame it is part of that "fabula crystalis" shit SE keeps pushing down our throats, because that means the story might not be good. I'll give it a try just because the gameplay looks fun.

@kronokronic not until Square Enix or Tri-Ace decide to make some must-have exclusive RPG tittles for it. The PSP and the whole 3 generations of Play Station would have been a failure too if it weren't for Square Enix games.
@MaXxChiX They do sell AV cables for the psp, you just have to look for em. It plugs into the headphone jack and pretty much shows the display and sound through the TV.

Opinions are made extremely quickly, our brains are *that* quick. It would be more accurate to say (at least when RPGs are concerned) that you can't judge the story unless you've seen all of it. The basics of the gameplay, graphics and a good chunk of the music? You can judge those with just a few hours of gameplay.
square enix should just give up. their games are getting worse and worse. the only thing keeping this series going is nostalgia final fantasy 10 was the last one that was any good. if anything they should offer us this game free as an apology for the last few games they've shit out. good graphics no doubt but good graphics dont make a good game, final fantasy XIII is a prime example of that. CG looks good, gameplay looks wank!

You know what the best option is that other games have an option to play in both languages. That way all fans can be happy because some people do not like the English dub and some do. Also some characters sound better in Japanese and some sound better in English.
This game has a lot of cute female characters! perhaps the most we have ever seen in a single FF game yet: Rem, Deuce, Cater, CinQue, Queen, Aria, Carla...they are all so damn cute! cute & cool at the same time! now I like all of my moe characters to speak Japanese, not English! (I vomited 2 times hearing Yuna & Vanille in English already, not another time, plz)
I played the japanese demo (understanding nothing more than a 'let's go' here and a 'are you alright?' there) and this game is so addictive! I will definitively buy it once it's released in North America =)
While its nice to see another FF game based on the Crisis Core engine, I'm wondering when they'll go back to turn based battles with an overworld instead of linear areas and hack 'n' slash.
These really don't feel like Final Fantasy games, I mean the system worked for 11 games, why was it changed?
@TheRamosOnline look for type-0 11 minutes trailer/gameplay by ign you will see alot of elemets from the past FF games coming back (examples: worldmap is back,Magitek armor(FFVI),Airships are back,Random encounters on world map,Chocobos on world map,Towns etc.)
I dno about you but games created by the Japanese should stay in Japanese. That way your getting the original. No limited information caused by language barriers and bad translating oR god awful English Dub. If you like a lot of japanese games do yourself a huge service and learn the language at your own pace of course cause some really great japanese games cant afford to be localised.
i've noticed a rapid decline in psp game releases since the unveiling of the psp vita. So does anyone know if there will be an offical english english for this game? They did a great job with FFVII Crisis Core so i would love to try this game out
@vtbombz Yes it will come out in other terriotries and has been confirmed. Don't worry with ffCC (ff7 psp game) we had to wait like 4 months for an english release announcement, also the same with KHBBS. The psp market is lower in the U.S and Europe so they have to be decisive for english releases. All I hope is that this won't be on Vita, even though it has been confirmed your can play this on that.

@celeschil007 I understand English very well and can speak/write pretty good. Better have English dub then German dub... we suck at doing that. But dubs are very usefull for enjoying the game. You really want to READ a game instead of EXPERIENCE it?

Finally a Final Fantasy game that isn't turn based! I always hated how they have some of the most badass looking characters(Cloud,Auron,Sephiroth,Noctis,Genesis,etc.)but the most boring gameplay. The only turn-based game I actually had FUN playing were the Pokemon games, It just fit perfectly in Pokemon,but outside of that,I couldnt stand it. I don't like being forced to stand still and watch my character get smacked around till it was my turn to fight. Dissidia was a step in the right direction

@actracts Just so you know... Wikis are 95% accurate nowadays. I've taken 3 research papers on random history topics in the last year and a half. I got A's on all of them, and my sources were wikis.

@xPrincessGarnetXVI I think if people expect too much from a game they notice that it's not so good after all, and if people don't expect anything from a game it just might be the best game they've ever played. But You don't know if it's good or not before you've played a game at least 100% minus optional content. But that's just the way I think of it.

@xPrincessGarnetXVI Many ppl don't like FF13 because none of its female characters look attractive. All of their faces make them look like women in the 30s and their costumes look too colorful & thus cheap. Also, the English voice version may have also ruined it.
Look like Tetsuya Nomura has learned his lesson this time, all of the characters & costumes in this game actually look so simple yet superb & perfect. Damn...I'm in love with Rem & Deuce! ♥_♥

@MiesJokaTies321 You're quite wrong. It isn't necessary to play a game from start to finish in order to tell if it's up your alley or not, or if you like it or not.
Opinions are made extremely quickly, our brains are *that* quick. It would be more accurate to say (at least when RPGs are concerned) that you can't judge the story unless you've seen all of it. The basics of the gameplay, graphics and a good chunk of the music? You can judge those with just a few hours of gameplay.

square enix should just give up. their games are getting worse and worse. the only thing keeping this series going is nostalgia final fantasy 10 was the last one that was any good. if anything they should offer us this game free as an apology for the last few games they've shit out. good graphics no doubt but good graphics dont make a good game, final fantasy XIII is a prime example of that. CG looks good, gameplay looks wank!

@hullmees666 not true. they made 13-2 to make up for all the complaints about 13. 13 sole well cause every ff fan would buy it not cause it was good. there were waaay too many complaints about no towns and a ombat system that played the game by itself. 14 hurt the more but 13 was a big hit to them from the fanbase.

You know what the best option is that other games have an option to play in both languages. That way all fans can be happy because some people do not like the English dub and some do. Also some characters sound better in Japanese and some sound better in English.

This game has a lot of cute female characters! perhaps the most we have ever seen in a single FF game yet: Rem, Deuce, Cater, CinQue, Queen, Aria, Carla...they are all so damn cute! cute & cool at the same time! now I like all of my moe characters to speak Japanese, not English! While its nice to see another FF game based on the Crisis Core engine, I'm wondering when they'll go back to turn based battles with an overworld instead of linear areas and hack 'n' slash.
These really don't feel like Final Fantasy games, I mean the system worked for 11 games, why was it changed?

I dno about you but games created by the Japanese should stay in Japanese. That way your getting the original. No limited information caused by language barriers and bad translating oR god awful English Dub. If you like a lot of japanese games do yourself a huge service and learn the language at your own pace of course cause some really great japanese games cant afford to be localised.

i've noticed a rapid decline in psp game releases since the unveiling of the psp vita. So does anyone know if there will be an offical english english for this game? They did a great job with FFVII Crisis Core so i would love to try this game out

@vtbombz Yes it will come out in other terriotries and has been confirmed. Don't worry with ffCC (ff7 psp game) we had to wait like 4 months for an english release announcement, also the same with KHBBS. The psp market is lower in the U.S and Europe so they have to be decisive for english releases. All I hope is that this won't be on Vita, even though it has been confirmed your can play this on that.

@bta1987 that's true, how long would it take for those brain-dead localization people from Square-Enix to understand such a simple, elementary concept? they could have boosted the sales in NA and European market dramatically if it weren't for those damn stupid English dub. Because people will always rather opt to download a hacked, pirated, undub version eventually instead of wasting money buying a disgusting localized version.

If they didn't, then it would recieve an M-rating for being too bloody and violent. Must be a pain in the ass.

After all, this is a game created by Japanese people, Japanese director & Japanese character designers so the voice has to be Japanese for it to be authentic. Localization voice dub has never been and will NEVER be a wise choice.

Finally a Final Fantasy game that isn't turn based! I always hated how they have some of the most badass looking characters(Cloud,Auron,Sephiroth,Noctis,Genesis,etc.)but the most boring gameplay. The only turn-based game I actually had FUN playing were the Pokemon games, It just fit perfectly in Pokemon,but outside of that,I couldnt stand it. I don't like being forced to stand still and watch my character get smacked around till it was my turn to fight. Dissidia was a step in the right direction
