Hi.

I tried deleting this file on my computer, but it wouldn't let me drag it into terminal. I would try, and it would bounce back into the place it was before. The extension on it is ".gif.crdownload". I tried to change the extension to just .gif but it said there was an error (-8085). Do you know how I can get rid of it?

Never mind I solved this problem by clicking on the desktop/finder/preferences/adv­anced and checking the box that says "Empty Trash securely". I'm currently running snow leopard.

@ZoldierrZzz Sometimes it helps to take what ever you are trying to delete out of the trash and then put it back in. Also I found out it depends on the size of the file you are trying to delete. It once took me 30 minutes to delete a 700mb file. I also found that it helps to restart your computer and try again.
