BRAVA! Finally a rythmic clear-sounding performance of this little gem. (Argerich, notwithstanding). Everyone just puts the pedal down fromt the beginning to the end and makes a muddled mess.
This peice needs to have more intensity and energy pushing in foreward. the noise in this version sounds pulled. It should sound pushed by a tidal wave of rage. She does not allow the sound to reach a climax.
¡Horrible, horrible y mas horrible!, esa no es la forma de tokar la danza del gaucho matrero, no tiene sentido de la lectura en la música y le recomijendo k lea y toke como dice en la partitura, esob era todo. ¡Grrr....!
Hello Elena, I did not hear of you until now, but I like your version and I am now interested in liestening to more music. I will have a look to you homepage to find information about your recordings and concerts. By the way, have you listened to Stefano Bollani's version of Danza del gaucho Matrero? He often plays it in concert (you may also find it on his CD Smat Smat). Best wishes for the future.
Isn't it embarassing to perform this so incredibly slow and tediously?
And how come everyone on U-tube screws up the middle section like that?

I learned this piece and, when I play it, it also sounds like a tuneless muddle of notes. We can't all be great!

Argerich recorded this on her Live from the Concertgebauw (Sp?) cd. I believe there are a couple by that name, so you'll have to look.

Uhhhhh sounds really conservative. None of the usual fire is present...

agreed. compare this to argerich's live recording -- now THAT's how it's meant to be played.

Yes, Argerich's was very good. I'm only so critical because I learned this set of pieces not too long ago.
Casanova is usually a competant pianist.
