  • do not go for this operation. im from south africa and went for this. my hands feet and underarms were dry. i was happy. now, every part of my body sweats. i cant go to work , interviews, the mall. its embarrassing. gonna try and get medication. my doc sed the reason for the sweating is coz the sweat has to come out somewhere !

  • DO NOT HAVE THIS PROCEDURE! I had this procedure in Nov 2005. All my life, my hands & feet would drip with sweat. I awoke from surgery dry as a bone. I thought it was a miracle come true. Then I slowly began to sweat in the lower part of my back, then under my breast, then in my groin. It is now Nov 2011 and & only leave home if I absolutely have to do so. I sweat so profusely that I have to change clothes & bathe several times a day. BUT my hands & feet are dry! I wish for a do-over!

  • @maggie741231 Your feet dry ? This procedure only stops sweating in hands

  • I need to have ets or something done bad!!! but i wont do it couse all the bad feed back ets has on here thanks guys for saving the inasint peaple that havent had the surgery. Really appriciate it

  • is this surgery a "cutting nerves" operation or "using titanium clamps" type? "titanium clamps" way is more safe but is that effective?

  • best option is ets? i need a permanent solution

  • someone talk to me pls im 26 y.o. pianist and i have seriously sweating problem. comments are "botox is bad" "ets surgery is crap" than what? in 2011 and we cant found a good solution for this tortuing problem? i dont want to try botox and ets surgery is not easy but i have to do something how about other ways? CO2 laser operation? iyontoforez?

  • LOL. I had this surgery done a few years ago. It's helped my hand sweating, A LOT. I'm glad I got it done. Though yes, Now i sweat on my back more especially in hot weather. But I'd rather have that than constant 24/7 sweat (even when I'm sleeping) on my hands.

  • Comment removed

  • i have not had the surgery but i think the best cure for sweaty hands to to soak them in water until they prune up so they are too dried out to sweat.

  • has anyone on here every had a Sympathectomy and then tried Botox afterword for compensatory sweating?

  • I had this done 8 years ago and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Yeah, I have a shit-ton of compensatory sweating of the back and chest but I deal with it. The pros greatly outweighed the cons for me. If you are thinking about having this done and want to send me a personal message and ask questions, be my guest.

  • I have had ETS done in toronto about 3yrs back. I had excessive sweating in my hands and was told that i was the best candidate for the procedure. People with excessuve sweating in their heads or underarm wouldnot be the best candidate. I had a slight complication during surgery. I had partial lung collapse forwhich i had to come back a few more times for minitoring. Eversince, i have had breathing problem when i was sleeping on my back. I woke up a few times in the middle of night to catch

  • WTF? Who Puts This Stuff On Youtube?

  • @sexyshawdii1 people like me.

  • I can honestly say that this procedure did in fact change my life. I have been living with hyperhydrosis of my hands and to some extent my feet, for as long as I can remember. My surgeon was wonderful and made sure I understood all the possible complications but I have had none in the month since I have had the surgery. Very limited pain and discomfort afterwards and I resumed regular activity within a week, including yoga and working out.

  • @amandaleigh19 I am completely jealous of your reaction to the surgery. I wish I could have said I had the same results :/

  • @sunkissed0827 damn what happend?

  • I dont understand ,you aren't red after this right right?

  • I might be having this operation this year and I'm really nervous about it I am how long does it take to perform and recover from

    Thanks

  • @CLUBMADCHRISTIAN what ever you do dont get the surgery i mean it you will regret it for the rest of your life

    you never recover from it

  • Correction... His name is Dr.Egozi.

  • Where I was going to sweat and where I was not going to sweat. I had no other health issues and was 125 lbs at the time. He assured me it was going to be a success. I do think that Dr's know when a person is going to have complications. I am very sorry for all the people who experience a unpleasant outcome.

  • My hands are dry as well! They only sweat when I am hot, and its normal for you to sweat then. My overall mind is more at ease, I feel so relaxed when my mind is clear. My Dr is from Miami and his name is Egoli, and he is well experience in these procedures. The day of y surgery I saw people flying in from other parts of the country to use him. I am happy = ) after suffering with this social disease since I was like 15! I got the surgery done when I was 25. Dr. Egoli told me...

  • Since the early 2000's many things have changed. Unfortunately a lot of the people who got this surgery then had Dr's who were not well experienced compared to the Dr's of today. My eyes are not dry, my upper body does sweat,I have no dropping of the eye, my heart rate is normal (just took health class), my blood pressure is also normal. When I eat spicy foot my face may get a "little" sweaty (not noticeable). I cant understand how so many people are unhappy with it. I find it almost impossible!

  • I too was extremely afraid when getting this procedure performed, but I was also living a horrible life living with it. I asked the nurse have she ever seen people come back with complications, she stated that most of the people who come back have other health issues as well, like being overweighted battling with thyroids. I would not recommend this surgery to cure facial blushing because I was advised that they have the least success rate. It also depends on when you got the procedure done...

  • I had this surgery done in April of 09', personally it has changed my life for the better. I have read EVERY comment regarding the surgery and I must say that I don't experience any of the side-effects except the compensatory sweating in my chest area, my face will become a "little" damp (not even noticeable) when I am nervous. I suffered from hands, feet and underarms! It was horrible and almost unbearable. I was treated for my hands and my underarms are cleared about 75-85% and feet about 50%

  • elsamarinera:I·ve never had any sweat at all in my hands again, even when I·m in extreme stress or doing any sport. All i have is a compensatory moderate sweat in my back and chest.

  • I had ETS surgery at the University of Minnesota in 2006. My younger sister also had ETS there in 2007. We are both very happy with the results. I have more compensatory sweating than her, which definitely sucks. Four years later, I have less compens. sweating (tho there is still some) and some sweating has returned to my hands. The surgery pretty much stopped all sweating in my armpits as well and some of that has returned, but not as bad as it was. The surgery changed my life for the better!

  • ets ruined my life. Don't let these butchers cut your nerves.

  • @TheVengefulGod can u tell me what happened?

  • ifsurfsider As far as i remeber they cut of the nervescasuterised them with some istrument(I cant remember the name) as it shown in the video.I cant really remeber at what level. Some people say meny things about side efects, I say I live a normal life,Im happy with the results of that surgery.Anyway ,ask your doctor about side effects in your case

  • I HAD ETS SURGERY 5 YEARS AGO.I VE BEEN FEELING GRAET SINCE THEN.ALL I HAVE NOW IS A MINIMUM COMPENSATORY SWEAT IN MY BACK AND CHEST BUT NOTHING COMPARES THE SENSATION OF FEELING DRY ALL THE TIME!!

  • @elgus1111 did you have clamping or cutting of the nerves? And at what level?

  • @elgus1111 Have you had any sweating return to your hands at all? Example: when you are exercising or when it is really hot?

  • RISKS ARE MINIMUM.ETS LITERALLY ENDS THIS CONDITION FOREVER.IT CHANGET MY LIFE. I FEEL GREATT!!!

  • @elgus1111 I agree. I had this operation a week ago, still sore but my hands are completely dry!!! THIS HAS CHANGED MY LIFE TOO! Had excessive sweating of hands and to some degree the feet too. Surgery could only help me with hands. Had nerves T2, T3, T4 cauterised. Within couple of days noticed back, torso and thighs were sweating but nothing like my hands. Its strange sensation though. I am a middle aged woman living in Sydney, Aus. So you can imagine how bloody hot it gets here!

  • @karinzski

Now that 9 months have gona by did the surgery work for you? Are your hands still dry?

  • @elgus1111

how long have you had the ETS surgery done?

  • Try iontophoresis products such as Drionic or Idromed first.

  • DONT GET ETS SURGERY!!. IT ruined my body and my life. You have been warned.

  • I had this done for sweaty palms. This went great and the only side effect was that my back would sweat more and, here's a weird one,Te left side of my face ONLY sweats when i'm hot and the right side ONLY sweats when i eat spicy foods!!!

  • FROUGHT WITH DANGER!

I'm a hypnotherapist, and hypnotherapy can be very effective with HH. The mind controls all sweating production and the mind can be directed to react differently.

Please do not think that hypnosis is in any way like mind control or acting silly, thats a whole galaxy away from what we do! all we ask you to do is use your imagination!

  • No way in hell I'm getting this done.

  • oh.... and i really don't wanna take medication because i have a feeling that will sooo not work for me.

But is there anyone here that has taen the meds and it has worked for them? (severe hyper hidrosis sufferes that have tried it)

    T_T

  • damnet all i am 12 years old and i have hyper hidrosis on my face, under arms, hands and feet and guess what?? I am SICK of it! Does this actually work? Or do i have to live with this crap forever??

  • @mcnabj...thank you so much for warning us....i have sweating problems on my face:[....im a teenager, so what kind of treatments should i do instead of surgery?

  • @madea25 try robinal medication.

  • pi had no idea processed food caused sweating, and could you explain what robinal medication is, and is it safe for teenagers?

  • @madea25 Try eliminating processed foods. Coffee and any stimulants. ETS can not be reversed if it goes bad. These doctors actually ruin your sympathetic nerves. They hide the real side effects. Try anything over ets.

  • Where abouts is that happening?

  • I had ets done and it was good for about 3 yrs. Then compensatory sweating, I've had to change the way I live my life by bringing extra clothes or just avoid going out when it was hot. Dont believe the whole clamping procedure, you only have a short window to get them off and the side effects may still be there. If I could do this all over again, I would never even consider this procedure. I sweat all over my body now and missed numerous classes bc of it. My option is to move to a cool envirment

  • @tnpl809 Dr. Atkinson at the Mayo Clinic in MN pioneered endoscopic thoracic sympathotomy. This prevents compensatory sweating. Treatments for hyperhidrosis are getting better and more effective and people shouldn't be misinformed about the condition or the treatment options. I was very close to getting the sympathectomy when we learned of CS and I hope more people with this condition consider treatment options, because it's a horrible thing to live with.

  • @haleygaates I agree people shouldn't be misinformed like I have. My Dr. informed me that I would have minimal amount of CS, but it's been about 9 yrs from the surgery and the CS is still really bad. I work for in a jewelery store and just standing in the front I will sweat on my back and chest. Having lunch outside, I am drenched as if I walked into a pool up to my chest. Eating wings (caribbean jerk) at BW3, my face and body sweat profusely. Although treatments are getting better, some

  • people on here have only recently had the surgery done, and have not experienced the side effects yet. I am not stating they will experience major CS like me, but remember things didn't get bad for me until about 3-5 yrs later. I have a female friend who experiences the same exact thing. More importantly, whatever treatment you choose, DO NOT LET THIS CONTROL YOUR LIFE. I am 29 now, I regret letting it control when I would go to class, to socialize, relationships...etc. Let me know if u hav ?s

  • @tnpl809 Hello, in wich country you did the operation,

    thanks,

  • TruthAboutETS(dot)com

  • We call this procedure BETS (bilateral endoscopic thoroscopic sympethectomies). We do many of these procedures at my facility in St. Louis, Missouri. They are NOT permanent. We "clip" the nerve, not cauterize it as seen in these videos. There can be compensatory sweating in some cases but not all, and it may potentially stop.

  • "NOT permanent." lol sure. When you clamp the sympathetic nerve it dies. DEAD. I have actually had ets. I know the REAL side effects of this bullshit surgery. ETS effects heart rate. Heat tolerance. Energy levels. Moisture in the skin. You surgeons are quakes. YOu sell a surgery that has SERious side effects and downplay them for money. The horrible side effects of sympathectomies have been know for over a hundred years.

  • Funny that you will never find a doctor who has had ets. I wonder why? lol. Money has corrupted you butchers. The causes of HH are not even know. You butchers start cutting imortant parts of the sympathetic nerves are an experiment. I guess you are not aware of the thousands of victims suffering everyday due to ets. lol Never ask a surgeon if you should have surgery. They cut first and ask questions latter.

  • Please talk to other actual patients who have had ets. Don't listen to the guy trying to make money off the operation. The surgeons will say anything to get money. Once you sign a disclaimer they are free and clear from any legal actions. They are butchers. BEWARE.

  • REAd about the real side effects of sympathetomy. DONT listen to what the biased unethical surgeons say. They would never get this operation themselves. Try and find a doctor who has had ets. Wont happen. Fuck ets and fuck the butchers that do it.

  • My armpits are dry but I'll see how they'll react in a week when I start exercising again! The only problem for me is that my hands are very dry but I'm using loads of hand creme and it helps. My surgeon operated on his coleague and that fact pushed me to make my decision!

  • how is your hands now?? does ets really works? any side effects ?

  • I read many of the comments by mcnabj but I still don't know when did you have the surgery? Modern medicine is improved hence the risks of complications are reduced. I must admit I'm a bit scared cause of the surgery, but what the hell! My life was dismal because my face was totally wet I used to hide from people,I was embarassed so many times, don't even wanna remember! Today is the third day since I had the surgery and my nose is a bit sweaty but nothing like before!

  • Comment removed

  • I got it and regret the surgery every day of my life. It cant be reversed. Don't trust the surgeon trying to sell the surgery. PLEASE RESEARCH ETS and it horrible side effects.

  • Comment removed

  • the technology makes no difference. I was clamped micro ets on t2 nerve. Read up about the real side effects from pubmed or any ets forum with actual patients. DO NOT listen to what the surgeons say about the procedure. they are selling a surgery and will not be honest with you. ETS effects heart rate, thermoregulation, brain function energy level tear secretion, amount of hair on head. Skin moisture ect ect ect

  • yeh but what exactly happened to you?

  • Lost the ability to sweat form the entire top third of my body. my hands are bone dry. my face is bone dry my head is bone dry my eyes are bone dry. IO over heat in hot weather. MY heat beats slow and my blood pressure is very very low. NO ENERGY. I have weird pain in my hands. The list goes on.

  • Comment removed

  • I hope and pray you don't get ets. Just look at the video up top. Does it look like something you want done to your sympathetic nervous system? Remember this cant be undone. These surgeons will pay one day for what they are doing.

  • Comment removed

  • These lying surgeons said they could reduce the flushing and sweating on my face/head. They never mentioned my hands would stop sweating and the entire top third of my body would stop sweating . They never warned me my heat would beat slower. No warning NONE>

  • Comment removed

  • It cost me my life. Money wise is was $2500 and I had the most "experience" surgeon in the world do it. Dr Lin. I hope he burns in hell. The year was 2002.

  • Comment removed

  • It has nothing to do with the doctor. The surgery is flawed. They are destroying a very important nerve that controls many functions in the body. Their theory is like cutting off your feet if they hurt. They are hacks and the dangers of sympathetomies have been know for over 100 years.

  • Comment removed

  • no but are you willing to take such a risk?? Remember if things go wrong you are screwed for life. Try any other treatments. medications, botox, laser ect ect. Why do you want to get ets??

  • Comment removed

  • "permanent" remember these words. Do you really want something done thats "permanent" even if it goes horribly wrong?? Why condition causes you to want ets??

  • Comment removed

  • for such a small flushing problem please don't ruin your nervous system. Try laser treatments. Thats permanent. Try beta blockers. Try botox on the face to stop flushing. Do you really want to not be able to sweat from the entire top third of your body?? Think about that. ETS may reduce the blushing but it will actually increae flushing and give you many more issues than your original one. PLease dont do it.

  • Comment removed

  • well you should research it on your own. I have given you my warning about ets. It has destroyed my life. I only wish someone had honestly warned me before I had this horrible operation. Dont trust Dr. Neilson in Texas. He is being sued my numerous victims as well. I am done warning you. You are responsible for your own actions now that you have been informed about the REAL side effects of ets. Good luck. Bye.

  • @mcnabj do you know if botox and laser surgery could help with facial flushing? my face is like red nearly all the time and i get hot soooo easy. the worst is in the winter when the radiators are on, my face just pulsates!! its ruining my life, please could you give me some advice!!

  • what are the side effects?

  • numerous. Research sympathectomy. Don't trust the "research" from surgeons selling the surgery. They are biased and will not be honest about REAL side effects. Talk to actual patients.

  • And my face is still sweating, not as much as before the surgery but who knows,it's early to judge. I have to go out in public and then see how my body's gonna react. In Serbia about 10 patients and more have this surgery for a week. I've also noticed that my feet are sweating(compensatory sweating) and I hope it'll pass as surgeons say. However,I'm a bit scared now,but it's still early to judge as I've already said.

  • I pity you. I warned you. Why didn't you try medication to reduce sweating?? WHY??

  • Comment removed

  • You all have been warned about ets surgery. I have done my best. Good luck trying to find any sympathy when you return complaining about how the procedure ruined your body and life.

  • I haven't had it yet! I'm havin it in two days, can't wait! I'll inform you when it's all finished... And I don't get it why all these people make such a fuss over this surgery,it's a minimal procedure...

  • Comment removed

  • And one more thing(I know that u'r thinking that I'm being so tedious right now, haha) Does anyone else have problems with facial hyperhidrosis? Because it's very seldom, people usually have palmar hyperh. and did anyone already have this surgery in order to get rid of facial hiperh.?? Tnx in advance;)

  • My parents are aware of the fact that this is such a frustration for me cause I've inheritted this problem from my mom though mine is much more severe! This surgery has been done for 5 years now in Serbia and there hasn't been a single problem except from temporary compensatory sweating. Anyway,I'm gonna let u know how everything passed after the surgery! Can't wait once again;)

  • Hi,I'm from Serbia,Belgrade actually and I'm having a surgery in three days on 29 October and I can't wait! The thing is that I have facial hyperhidrosis and it's really severe,my face is like soaking wet all the time and always wear dark clothes made of sutiable fabrics cause my armpits are totaly wet all the time. Apart from that,I'm a very active and impulsive person and have had this problem since I was like 10 years old(I'm 18 now).

  • Hi, I'm actually thinking to get this surgery done soon. because my hand sweat alot... it is so annoying and nasty. i can't shake people's hand, can't drive without glove sometime, can't dance, can't hold other's hand.. etc i know that might be a chance of getting side effect. so i don't know what to do.

    anything suggestion?

  • do not get ets surgery. the true side effects are horrible. it can't be reversed. dont trust the surgeons who want to make money to be honest about the side effects. FUCK ETS SURGEONS!!!!!!!!!

  • @mcnabj do u think that maybe only your one of a few people that ets destroyed or maybe your doctor messed up. i had ets but my hands sweat a little. legs and torso sweat more though but at least i could write on paper or shake someones hand or even stand in frot of the class room now without having to wipe my face. but eaither way if it goes wrong in the future. no regrets because i would be screwed eaither way

  • I had tried the barbaric standing in water while an "electric current passed through my body". the roll on alcohol treatments, the pills, nothing helped me. I carried a towel in school for my hands, always wore socks, but feet I can deal with, the hands are harder. I am so happy to have dry hands and no side affects!

I hold everyone's hands now! I have 2 children, both girls and unfortunately my youngest age 2 has palmar and plantar hyperhidoris however she is not as severe as I was, thankfully!

  • I am 31 and living in Florida. At 18 ( I had to be a consenting adult), I had the surgery thanks to the NHS in England. I grew up with dripping hands and swimming feet.

The surgery was major, My Mum could not look at me after the surgery for all the tubes and machines surrounding me. I highly recommend this surgery, but I do stress the importance on doing your research and finding a surgeon who has been trained in this area! I believe 13 years ago my nerve endings were cortirised, not clamped!

  • The whole nervous system is a piece of shit FUCK ETS and FUCK hyperhidrosis FUCK facial blushing and fuck social phobia.

  • sorry you are so angry, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

  • Comment removed

  • @SnEaKatIN ewww u r rite oh and thats is SUPER GROSS!

  • Comment removed

  • But yeah hyperhidrosis is a nightmare

  • After ETS you will permanently be weaker physicaly so thats a big deal for me I guess you can't have the best of both worlds.

  • botox works on hands

  • @mcnabj Botox was EXTREMELY painful and did NOT work for me. Horrific procedure

  • @mcnabj Botox didn't work for me. It was horrible! Never again.

  • hey i found a solution, burn my top skin permantly or fuck up the my nerves so i loose my feeling of touch, making the hands useless which is pretty much how i feel right now

  • i had this done one month ago, surgery went great, woke up out off theatre with dry hands which i had wanted,i am a happy confident man once again after suffering palmer hyperhydrosis for 7 years, only side affect is my back sweats only during fitness so i aint worried too much about this, succesful operation on behalf off me

  • What level did you get cut/clamped? CAn you sweat from your face/head?

  • @istanbulO5

how long have u had the ETS SURGERY DONE? thanks in advance

  • Just finished my second side,i had it done for blushing, after i had first side done i thought nothinghad changed, but after second the redness has improved loads and i NEVER blush,i was the youngest person the surgen has ever performed ETS on and he gave me the choice of burnibg the nerves or putting clips on ,so it could be reversed ,i chose clips just in case, but i no i wont be getting it reversed only side effect was a little bit of sweating on the back.

  • you have lost your ability to sweat from the nipple line up. this is a huge problem when trying to cool off from heat. Are your hands now bone dry? Your heat rate will also be lowered as a side effect. I hope you realize that reversals dont work. The clamps kill the nerve.

  • my hands are bone dry but atleast i'm confident shaking peoples hands or my gf ect,i dont need to worry about work or socielising in public,my only worry is that when i am eating in a restaraunt i have noticed sweat comes through my chest or back and is noticeble on my clothes if they are not black,i sufferd so bad before this operation i was a mixed up emotional guy,now am a calm un worried man getting on with my life,my head/face doesnt sweat either but my fitness is back on track so am happy

  • I'm glad that you have found relief. Who did your surgery? You got t2 cut/clamped?

  • i had it done in liverpool england by dr page,i am not aware off cut/clamped all i know is i had a symaphectomy(ets),did u suffer palmer hh or other?and why are u negative about it?i heard i could get horners syndrome after the op but it went well,i guess there will be a different outcome in everbody who undergoes this surgery

  • i am negative b/c I cant sweat form the nipple line up. My hands and head/face are bone dry. My eyes are dry. I was never informed of these side effects before surgery.

  • were did u have the surgery done?do u sweat alot everyelse?

  • it was done in taiwan by Dr.Lin. Yes my back and butt sweat a great deal now. I was never warned that I would stop 100% sweating on head/face arms and hands. Very Very unhealthy. Screw ets doctors.

  • i have a problem with excessive blushing, do you think ets would help me? it is really affecting me and the way i socialise with people.

  • have you gotten your thyroid levels checked?

  • MY hands are dry and soft ,but you just moisturise them, the clamps they put on do not kill the nerve at all.thay just stop the blood supply from going to my face and i can get them taken off whenever i want.(which im not) as for heart rate , i play academy soccer /football and have fittness test every week and i have one of the best heart rates on the team, and nurses said im extreamly fit and healthy for my age just 3 days ago as for calling off you chuck a bottle of water over your head.

  • not to be a dick but you are misinformed. The blood supply is not "cut off". your sympatheic nerve is clamped and kills the nerve. REVERSALS don't work. Once that nerve is cut/clamped it dies. No going back. Don't listen to what you doctor who sold you the surgery says. Read about the sympathetic nerves from independent sources.

  • m8,trust me my nerve is not clamped or burnt it is clipped with 6 tiny clips which can be removed the only reason they offered me that choice is because i am soo young, and the surgeon was not comfortable doing the surgery proply, have you had ETS?what for?are you happy with results?side effects?

  • clipped=clamped. Titanium clips that aply pressure to the nerve. It kills the nerve. Look it up. The nerve dies forever. I had ets 9 years ago. I hate every minute of it. Clamped on t2. I had to for facial blushing. I wish to God it could be reversed but it is not possible yet. Stem cells might regenerate the nerve one day.

  • i hope you dont mind me asking but why do you regret having the surgery and did it make any difference to your blushing.

  • Many many long term side effects. They didn't appear to a few years after the surgery. I over heat in hot weather. My skin on my head/face in bone dry. Sores on my face/head. MY eyes are dry. Energy levels are also down. My hands are bone dry. Can't grip things. ETS effects heart rate. Thyroid function. Lung function ect ect.

  • i hope these do not happen to me.The best thing for your face is the sun and keep moisturising it twice daily after clensing.eye drops maybe...my hands have no grip either which effects me quite a lot apart everyone keeps wanting to feel them.

  • i hope you will be fine. Ets is a crap shoot. You never know how it will effect you.

  • thankyou

  • what do you mean by .. " you hate every minute of it. clamped on t2"" ? ets didnt worked for you ??

  • Imagine the top third of your body bone dry. NO SWEAT< NONE. HEAD flakes. facial skin flakes. Eyes dry dry dry. Nose mucus dry. Sinuses bone dry. ETS had caused anhidrosis on the top third of my body. This is for life. It cant be reversed.

  • aww .. then is there any other procedure for treating palmar hyperhydrosis??? this shit is killing me

  • yes. BOTOX. there is also some electric machine that stops the sweating signal. ION or something.

  • yeah ive searched it theyre not that effective on sweaty hands and feet.... anyways hope those stuff works

  • Not sure where you heard that. Botox does work for hands. The ion thing does as well. Did you prospective ets surgeon tell you this?

  • would you recomend it? it makes me really concious, i blush constantly for no reason, bright red. its really getting me down.

  • ets will stop the sweating in ur hands and head/face but will sweat more on ur back chest or legs.....i had it done n am doing alot better : )

  • so has it cured your blushing? mine is getting me down

  • Sorry I didn't reply mate I have been at a wedding , a wedding which unless I didn't have ets my face would have been bright red,and thanks to ets it wasn't .mate it has worked for me ,obviously the redness didn't all go but about 75-80% did and makes a hell of a difference. I have rough skin on face anyway which doesn't make the redness any better .basically mate it has done wonders for me and I recommend it but think about it, I would sat it had changed my life .

  • what a coincidence, ive just had to turn down an invitation to one of my best friends wedding because of this. so it has really helped? im going to do some more research but im tempted to do the op. if i can get it on the nhs. how recently have you had it done? have you had any bad side effects??

  • ETS has changed my life ,i never blush all teh kids at school think its weird because its not happening which proves it works.your lower back and below waste will sweat a lot more than normal, you will lose a lot of grip on your hands as this op is used to reduce sweaty hands as well.you will have to moisurise hands regulary as the skin is so dry.face will probly need moisturising too. These were my side effects..everyone is different ...stay in touch if you have any more questions just ask.

  • thanks for answering my questions, did you try any other treatments if there were any before the op? how did you find out about ets? did your doctor recommend it, do you think my gp would refer me for a consultation?

  • alrite mate,i tried every creame in the book non worked,so i got referred to a skin specalist and he said said there is an operation which can cure your blusing,he only recommended it because it was effecting my social life,he then referred me to a surgeon and within 6 weeks of waiting my blushing was no more, you should have no problem being referred if it is effecting you socially.

  • it is mate,i dont hardly go out anymore. my confidence is zero, does your face still get a bit flushed say if you excercise?im gonna make an appoitment to see my gp. enough is enough, once again thanks for answering my questions, im really pleased the op has worked out for you, i just hope and pray it it could do the same for me.

  • alrite mate..when id do exersise my face goess the lightes shade red,but not as much as it used too,it was like a tomato, hope you get there and have the op mate.

  • Just had the op done. well hade left hand side done a month ago and just got the right hand done today. The only bad thing is that i sweat more on my back, but thats not the end of the world. At the moment im very glad i have had this done and if anyone has any questions about it ill happily answer. x

  • Had op done 5 yrs ago. Worked well for a year or so and then blushing came back but also with this terrible sweating everywhere esp, around my groin and back. Its very embarressing as soaks through my clothes. Surgery was grand but boy do i regret having this done today. Traveled from UK to Taiwan to get one of leading surgeons. Bn plagued wit blushing since teens and was desperate as nothing else seemed to work, but for me i just made things worse, you may think is that possible like i did!!

  • Dr.Lin did your ets? He is a butcher. Can you sweat from your head or arms?? I'm sorry the blushing came back.

  • Does everyone get crazy side effects long term or just a minority?

  • most people get side effects after a few years.

  • Were the side effects worth the benefits for you?

  • not at all.

  • My scalp is a little dry my eyes are fine though.

  • I'm sorry to say this will only get worse with time. I am eight years post op from ets. DRY DRY head and face.

  • My dr. was Dr. Cina from the St. Micheals Hospital in Toronto Ont. Before the surgery he said he burned anywhere from t2-t4 lv but im not entirely sure which for me, were burned. My scalp isn't completely bone dry, even when i get hot my face gets a bit moist. My hands are dry but i can still feel a bit of oil on them. Haven't touched lotion so far maybe burning/laser surgery is different than cutting/clamping the sympathetic chain?

  • how dry is your scalp? Do you seem to overheat now in the summer? Are your eyes dry? Thanks

  • Hey ive gotten the surgery done. :) I stopped sweating in my face and palms. It feels weird though my back and legs sweat a little bit but it's better than the way things used to be. It's been almost a week from the surgery and i haven't noticed any major side effects

  • they clamped t2 for your hands? This was an old method. Its a shame they did this to you. You wont ever sweat from your face or head now. Why didn't they clap t3-4 ? Who was your Dr.?

  • how u feeling now after the surgery?

  • I'm considering getting this done for facial flushing. very difficult for me at work, especially in group conversations. tried propanonol, works well, but bad with my asthma. Anyone got any better suggestions? I had a chat with the doc, and he said its succsessful for most poeple, and only the ones it goes wrong with moan...

  • this is why I got ets. Trust me I wish I never had it done. this side effects are worse than the original problem. Do independent research and don't trust what the surgeon who's trying to sell you the surgery says.

  • i have the same problem with facial flushing like you, im also on propranonal, but i still blush quite bad. im thinking about the ets op.

  • any luck on the facial blushing? I tried propranolol, atenolol, metoprolol, carvedilol, effexor, celexa, and sanax just to name a few and still have severe blushing in group situations. Im sick of the drugs. Anything help you? My next step is to get my thyroid checked. Maybe my thyroid is hyperactive. I am constantly warm, my skin feels moist, and I have other symptoms of hyperthyroidism. I dont want to live like this anymore. Sux : (

  • i think im suffering the same thing as you, i too am constantly warm and my face just starts flushing uncontrollably.i was watching my brother play football today, one of the players parents came over to talk to me and my face just goes bright red. i have had enough of this, its really getting me down. at work especially in group situations it can be really bad, chronic!!! what has your doctor said about ets?

  • I am not considering ETS, looks too risky. My next step is to get my thyroid levels checked. An overactive thyroid has symptoms of feeling hot all the time, sweating, rapid heart rate, anxiety feeling, etc... If my thyroid levels come back as normal than I guess I just have to deal with it. It just sucks because people make comments about my face being red even when I feel like my face is not red, this just makes me uncomfortable because people start to stare & I turn red. Just
