My sentiments exactly. If they do, it shows they prefer mediocrity (Bayside singer's tone has that dime-a-dozen, whiney tone. Nothing unique). There's a jackass kid here on youtube singing Megan that sounds like Bayside. Case in point.

What? How can you say Anthony's voice isn't unique??? The crap emo that is played on the radio (a formally good source of music turned worthless) all sounds the same. Take fall out boy and panic at the disco....can you honestly distinguish the two bands?? I can't, along with the 800 other emo pop culture bands out there right now. I personally love baysides acoustic version. Anthony is an awesome guitarist, and a damn good singer.

Since you asked: Yes, whiney tone & not a good singer from what I've heard. All these newer bands have the same depth & are very bland. Those other two bands you mentioned: Shit. This Emo music caters to all you youngsters who like that MTV, Warped Tour garbage. Bayside obviously saw something very great in the Popes which is why they covered their song. We've got nothing to discuss. Obviously you & today's youth like it so knock yourself out listening to that stuff.
