the metreon on 4th, the jewish museum, yerba buena children's center and yerba buena lane...
it's amazing to me, just a few years ago, the only thing to do south of market was go to the night clubs, get your car repaired, go to costco or the north face outlet...
I saw one of the first shows I'd ever been to, when I was 18, at the utah, looking back now, I can see why my mom was so nervous...now, it's busy with foot traffic, families headed to the game, or people living in the area...
I've worked in SOMA for over 15 years...mostly on 4th & mission, then the last four years on 10th & harrison...when I first started on 4th the metreon wasn't there and yerba buena gardens wasn't very appealing...
if we wanted vietnamese food from tulan, 2 blocks away on 6th & market, we would always drive...walking wasn't very safe, but it is so much different now...
I think a lot of it has to do with the additions of the 4 seasons hotel, the intercontinental on howard, the metre
