Final Fantasy was built on it's amazing story lines and in-game music. Thats the final fantasy that we all love, without that, its just another shitty mmo from japan. Please do us all a favor and get back to the origins squaresoft. A remake or two would even be amazing, say final fantasy 6,7, or my favorite 8. :)

@cursedshadow After watching the video, I'm pretty sure it's just lag. Watch the combat log and you'll notice it speed up and slow down at the same times the toon is "gliding" across the ground. I can't read the sending and receiving at the top right of the game screen, but it looks like their internet connection is just slow.

@Shinerbock88 It's still weird because i've been playing mmo's for years now(L2,aion,sword 2,PW,Lunia,etc) and i've never seen an animation cracking up or messed up because i lagged. Normally the animation would "end" it's state the moment it lags or have a delay and keep doing the same animation until it stops stops since it's not receiving any comand input. I could see this happening on console games tho, but not in PC.

@ThierLeader The September 30 release is for Microsoft Windows version. The PS3 release will be available 6 months later. I heard Square Enix was developing an Xbox 360 version but this was discontinued because of licensing (read money) issues with Microsoft.

You people expect too much from a game that beta just ended for. I'm sure that the actual game will be much better. And from what I've heard from LS members in 11 that played the beta, 14 is really amazing. As for the slow action, the first ten levels are always the slowest, nothing but grinding. Just as it was with 11, though, you have to really be an RPG fan to love 14. Everyone else should just go back to their mindless FPS's.

I think this game would have been far better if they added more action into is like Star Ocean how u have to press different buttons or bumpers if u played SO for the 360 to do combos and moves, or just different battle style.

If its so free-style and does have alot of action it isnt that good. FFXI made it bc it still kept older FF principles and FFXI had delay on weapons, u had to stand still to cast spells. FFXIV looks too loose then when it comes to fighting its too sluggish.

The pacing of the battles and the battle system itself seem eerily similar to FFXI, which is not a good thing, imho. Compared to the mechanics and pacing of batles in WoW, FFXI was awful. If they want me to take this game seriously it needs to be NOTHING T ALL like FFXI.

I have played WoW since 1 month after release, and I can appreciate a good game when I see one. WoW had a lot of new standards set for the MMO genre, but can I be frank? There will be a game that is not Blizzard related that will deal a huge blow to WoW. These other ones mentioned didn't kill it, but they did take portions of players away. SWTOR FTW baby :)
