the teenager is was under influence of alcohol (after a night celebrating with friends after finishing an exam) and bought the wrong ticket at the station. My second point, at no point did the ticketer have to say "yes" to the big mans offer. At any point in this scenario the police could have been called.

the teenager is was under influence of alcohol (after a night celebrating with friends after finishing an exam) and bought the wrong ticket at the station. He is also diabetic and when thrown off the train by the 'BIG MAN' he also had his bag left on the train with his injections and medication plus university cards etc.. which is why he was trying to get back on the train......

The situation is this; The guy was asked to get off the train by the conductor. He refused to and swore at the conductor. He then threatened to stay on the train 'all night if need be' - thereby holding up an entire train for hours (with children etc onboard).
Yes it could be the guy wasnt trying to dodge the fare. But in Scotland you seldom get away with.this sort of thing if your actions cause problems for the public, or if there's an impatient or aggressive BIG MAN around.
