  • That doesn't work is not true is a Bad myth!

  • if the eggcrates comes with the eggs, how do you keep them from falling?

  • egg containers = diffusors

they just get rid of some early reflections

i would maybe use them while recording drums in a bad sounding room (really makes a diffrence for your cymbals)

it doesnt do anything for soundproofing

just alters the acoustics of the room

  • Practicing musicians / learners, if you could fill out my easy 4 question survey for my research project it would be much appreciated. The link is in the info of my video called practicing musicians thanks.

  • I think the sounds of that guy's voice in that room says it all... and that would be one track of that room. Imagine 24 times that sound... I know I wouldn't want to.

  • carpet is the best cheap way

  • The sound effects are hillarious!

  • @1800GAMEBOY just make sure to not leave your microphone in thier when they come over to work

  • these guys are idiots. if you send good money on equipment,

why not spend good money for sound treatment. penny wise

    and pound foolish.

  • All I saw was zipper heads. Damn.

  • Why is EVERYBODY an expert on this? All this..."it's not the same argument"...can you show evidence that your average person would know the difference in hearing recordings done in a studio with this rather that the auralex foam that is massively more expensive? At least site a study that is not done by someone who sells the stuff.

  • I've been speaking the acoustic engineers. the answer to the question about eggcrates is. the only effect it has is to make the walls unparallel, wich reduces echo. It does not absorb sound, it's only thick paper.

it is very flammable, so it's NOT recommended!!!

  • @FrenchBeatz besides absorbing the sound, what do the expensive studio foams do that the egg cartons can not? i know for a fact that studio/recording foam itself is very flammable so im still confused as to the difference besides the absorbsion.

  • @wolfeman323232 you answered your own question in the first line

  • @FrenchBeatz There must be a way of soundproofing a room without spending an arm and a testicle on expesnsive soundproofing materials tho. Old mattress foam?

  • @clumpft actually You can! You should build some DIY basstraps (how-tos are available on youtube), and place them into corners of the room.. And then you could buy some foam pads which you could place on your walls. You don't need to many of them. An other alternative would be to buy some thick curtains. Curtains aborb high frequencies very well.. It will not give you a professional result, but if you're professional about this i'm sure you have the resources to buy real insulating solutions.

  • just cuz it LOOKS like studio foam doesn't mean it does the same thing.. I'd probably try a matress pad before this.. but really you're best off just buying some real foam, or getting some rigid fiberglass like they use in cubicles. the whole idea tho is to stop reflections across as wide of a frequency spectrum as possible and stuff like this will effect a very narrow band, thats what makes it suck.. that and cardboard isn't very good insulation either

  • Yeah, everything, that is not in english freaks you out right? You are saying on the outside: "asian bullshit, please trash this video, asshole'' and on the inside you are: '' Oh, no! I can't understand a single word. Lets kill them all or something. I'm scared. Mommy ;..( ''

I'm sick of you ignorant people like danielortizdecaracas.

And about the video. These things work really well. I use to have one small room covered with them and the reflection of the sound from the walls is gone.

  • I love how the Asian videos r so cartoony with the effects and stuff, like its fun. our shit is all boring and serious

  • does this really work ? how many percentage of sound volume being cut down? 10 % ?

  • While this looks like the sound absorbing foam used in studios, egg cartons are too stiff and will absorb little sound. They will deflect the sound into the cartons but this will be reflected back out, especially the most annoying low-mid frequencies. This isn't really suggested. You will get better performance by simply hanging towels and blankets on the walls.

  • True, I have tried the blanket. Although not practicle it really allowed me to hear different frequencies from the speakers and the room also sounded a lot less tinny. (you know what i mean?) This has lead me to save up for acoustic foam tiles and bass traps. Cant wait to get them!!

    TRY IT !!!!

  • dont work for soundproofing,

    its ridiculous.

plus, if you do it .. your room is going to be paradise for things like cockroaches.

  • Well, that certainly answered all the questions I had...

  • Must we cover every part of the wall in our room?

  • yes ..not the floor

  • no that is overkill and will stop lots of sound at one range of frequencies but not at others so it can sound unrealistic..

  • sound effects bug...
