i love bones and season 7 has came out and brennan has a baby on the ep prisonner in the pipe but it hasnt came out yet but i read about cant WAIT!!!!!
I bought this album over 30 years ago and I'm glad I took good care of all my albums. It still sounds pretty good.I have the CD,but they took out a lot of the warmth and it doesn't seems to be missing the upper end of the frequency. My sub woofer helps out with the bass.
Since I play both my turntable and CD player through the same speakers....I'm shocked at the difference in sound.
I saw Poco perform an acoustic set that included this song in about `75. Just the one guitar and their vocals. The set lasted about half an hour. It was pure magic. I've never failed to enjoy a Poco concert.
@inatizzy2 I am totally with you! I am also 53 and finding these Videos, like from Stagecoach 2009!!? OMG I am so happy to hear POCO from whenever. And all you haters, go somewheres else... !!! :-)
Go check out Timothy B Schmit singing lead vocals with the Beach Boys on Caroline No, I think done in the late 90's in a tribute to Carl Wilson. Tim's voice is unbelievable!
I haven't heard this song in years. What a great tune. Reminds me of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Are these guys still playing. Would love to see them.
@thecoolestdad Poco seems to have a history with The Eagles. Randy Meisner was a Poco member before he went on to play with The Eagles, so Poco brought in Timothy B. Schmit to replace him. in -78 Randy Meisner quit The Eagles, and T. B. S. joined them. And the last and final twist is that Randy Meisner actually went back to play for Poco.. Clear enough? :)
Ya know you've got it all together in the groove, when ya can make music sound so laid-back and easy, ya can perform with your thumbs in yo' belt. Love Poco!!
I saw the same four guys singing this song in the mid 70s, but I'm pretty sure Timmy was playing the guitar that night. Great song Tim. (It was four part harmony that night.) Back then, we didn't know what a good voice Rusty had.
Did you ever notice how much classic rock like this song is used in modern movies and TV shows?I've loved Poco since the early 70's and this ones my favorite even though it's not the original lineup.
I for one didnt see this at Bones. I listen to The Eagles and seeing that Timothy is their bassist and for some songs vocalist then ofc I know this song.
i remember this song ,summer of 1975 ,i moved to this 2 traffic light town on lake occechobee ,where the ratio of girls to guys were about 4 to 1 ,all the guys got the hell out ,the pickings were nice ,used to go to the local pizza shop every night after work and drink pitchers ,and listen to this song on the juke box, no money ,no resposibility ,life was good
@laura43862 yep me too, love that show, I tell ya, the Eagles stole all these guys nearly, eventually, I assumed this was an Eagles song until the Bones episode.
They were awesome! The negative was that Leon Redbone opened for them and was drinking beer and smoking cigs while performing. The audience didn't think that was fair. Such good memories!
I saw Poco live in northern NJ about 1975-1976. Awesome band with a timeless sound. Glad to have found them here so I can relieve those memories of growing up in the 70's!
In 1970, Timothy B. Schmit joined Poco, replacing founding member Randy Meisner on bass and vocals. He wrote and was lead singer on the song "Keep On Tryin'," Poco's biggest hit single to that point, peaking at #50 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1975. Apart from Poco, Schmit also contributed vocals to Firefall's 1977 hit, "Just Remember I Love You."
@nutleyguitar1968 and some more trivia for you ---Timothy also replaced Randy Meisner AGAIN when he joined the Eagles--- the only time that's happened in rock and roll???--some good trivia,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
i saw it on bones too, and then i kept listening to it, and my dad walked by and started singing to it, i was like, oh did you see it on bones too, and he was like no, i used to play this for you when you were little, it kept me going for you. I cried
@alicejulie1 they opened with this when I saw them in 75...met my future wife at that concert...play this to this day (though I can sing as sweet as Timmy B)....
my wife and i heard this song on bones and we follow the series so we understood the use of this song on bones because of the tough times bones and her dad have had thru the years. I had never heard this song and i was hooked so i went to the computer and had to listen to it over and over. Then i had to get out my guitar and add this to my songs. Awsomeeeeee Song.
@mccoobs I have Always listened to POCO. Oh man, so many memories so much fun. STILL listen to them and Im 53 yrs old. Guess I was always the weird kid in school. ANS??? SO??? LOL Still am still happy.
haha, so funny, we all heard it on bones, they've had some good tunes. and this is one of the best. the music came up, and the decades just faded away. gets me all misty and...
they opened with this when I saw them in '76...Frampton was the opening act before he went nucleur...POCO and Peter killed that night...god bless George G and hope he is doing okay...
Guitar and three part harmony, doesn't get any better than this. Nobody performs like this any more. If you are not familiar with Poco, you are truly missing some great music.
I love that song since i heard it in Bones!...Booth and Bones are totally made for eachother!...And i think many people knew this song exactly from Bones xd
Make no mistake, I love The Eagles to death and always will. But this song is only one of the reasons why Poco will always be everything The Eagles wish they could have been. Why else would they have to keep stealing their bass players to prove it? The Eagles have some nice harmony moments, certainly, but they have NOTHING on this. And The Eagles may have had Bernie Leadon, but he could not and cannot touch Rusty Young. The man has to be the best pedal steel player alive. Go Poco!
Check out the Poco family tree created by Peter Frame. The Eagles are part of the Poco family. It's difficult to compare the two bands, even though they share members, still two different sounds. Frankly no one compares to Poco. I feel very lucky to have grown up listening to them, and to have seen them live at their peak.
I cant belivie that his (Timothy B) voice is sssooo pure and cleartoday as it was back in 75..good lord..its because he probaly took care of his voice..I wish the lead singer of Kansas would have..and he has good physical genetics also cause he is one hot almost 60 yr old
Thanks SO much for this. Timothy is as amazing today as he was then. I saw The Eagles in May; absolutely stunning! But Timothy was sick and they had to cancel a few concerts after that. We were lucky our concert wasn't cancelled; we'd travelled a long way to see them. They were well worth the trip! Every note of the 3 HOUR concert was spot-on PERFECT!
Don't know Bones, (no use for a tv in colorado) but thank you producer, writer or whoever brought this incredibly awesome song back to life. The harmony is disabling! I've seen Poco over 20 times in the last 35 years and will be seeing them again June 11 at the Louisville Street Faire FOR FREE
I dont know shit about BONES, but I remember going to see these guys play as as support act to America in '75. America were crap. Bufo Americano split into two bands in the late 60's.
One band became CSN.
The other became Poco.
Poco went through many members, but seemed to hold up their end of things.
Leaders came and went.
I tied my reins to Poco and then went awry.
What this has to do with bones is beyond me.

It's been forever since I've heard this song.I guess we all must've been watching Bones at the same time. Whatever happened to bands that do harmonies?

They went away, and were replaced by stupid thugs standing around with pit bulls, that wouldn't know a melody if it hit them over the head!
