  • I think I like Capital Radio Two slightly better than Capital Radio One. Just the way Joe sings (e.g."they don't make the city beeeeeeeat") and his little rant at the end, not to mention the deceiving, "radio-friendly" intro.

  • anyone else feel like Rancid's "the 11th Hour" rips off this song and "police on my back"? god damn dude. originality is so hard to find.

  • @incomprius Wouldn't be surprised...they adore the Clash :P

  • this song done live was always the greatest

  • live # 2 cnt be beat

  • I fucking love this song, fast becoming one of my favourite Clash songs which amongst the many many others that I love is quite amazing!

  • I'm a north american and bought "Black Market Clash" as released to us. "Capitol Radio One" was on it, and not on my copy of "Give 'em enough rope".

  • @midcenturygirl You're absolutely right. I have a copy of Black Market Clash. When I was a kid a friend of mine swapped that and Give em Enough rope.

  • The worlds most valuable single on 45 bar none.

  • take it your not into the Jam.......lol

Weller is a geezer though....each to there own

  • @midcenturygirl Am I getting old, or did they not have this and a few other tunes on Give Em Enough Rope?

  • @kingrob29 this wasnt on that album. This was part of package with some other songs. The outtakes are better the the album.

  • the chords sound like the JAM,A bomb in Wardour Street,...funny cos the Clash used to slag the Jam right off,...

  • the jam are fucking shit end of and have nothing on the clash.

  • @cpj93070 shut up, the jam greatest band

  • @carlos7217 actually joe strummer eventually conceded that weller was "Btirtain's greatest soul singer"

  • @Bickieundspielen well hes not better than joe anyway the clash will always be better than the jam and thats a FACT.

  • a long time ago there were pirates

    beaming waves from the sea

but now all the stations are silent

'cos they ain't got government license

  • You could say that about most early Clash songs.

  • Any chance you could post the B side, London's Burning (single version) ? Cheers mandal......

  • this version is more agressive than the second one...you can feel the message of the song with this version

  • The reason why most people enjoy this version more is simply because how clean cut and tight it is, compared to #2 which has a much easier bassline to play while the guitars fly left and right.

  • the clash rocks

  • have any u guys got the clash singles box set with all the singles on they had this capital radio but it was much more powerful more punk give it a lision again if u have it much better.

  • dont touch that dial !

  • give us all the hits to play to keep you in your place all day! .........says it all

  • dont stop dont stop dont aaaaaaaaa

  • WXB 102.....
