These are about 2500hp each, top fuelers are 8000 x 4 = 32,000hp. It would be uncontrollable with top fuel engines.

@jwippel I don't see why they just don't install one 8,000 hp top fuel engine and add some more weight to the tractor. Tractor pulls are stupid anyway, I can go borrow a big John Deere like a 9330 or something and pull the stupid sled sideways upside down at 1800 rpm, and then drive it back to the field and go back to work.

These aint top fuelers, more like alcohol. Ln Australia the only thing faster than top alcohol is of course top fuelers, we drag race alcochol motors with a choice of dragsters, funny cars or modified t, buckets usually pulling in around mid 5 seconds. lt seems the US use alochol motors for pulling like angelwolves69 suggested, i am assuming this clip is from the U.S.A.. We dont get enough U.S drag racing on tv here unless you get pay tv. But who needs that when you have youtube.

you are absolutely right. neither the NTPA nor the ATPA allow any fuel aditives to the Methanol allowed in their modified tractor classes. anyone who's been to an NHRA or IHRA drag race can tell you, alcohol motors are NOTHING compaired to Top Fuel. It's like getting punched in the chest when the fuel cars go by.
