  • so basically if i want to replace a 320gb hd for a 1tb drive to do be with a 500 gb i dont have to do anything just take the 320 and put the 1tb???

  • What if you have 3 drives, 100gb, 150gb and 1TB, and the 1TB drive fails.

    Isn´t it best to have equal sized drives, even though it´s not required?

  • If that happens, Drobo only lets you store the combined size of the two smaller drives (less about 5-10%). So if the 1TB drive does fail, the other two disks theoretically store the data until you replace the other disk.

    But you're right - keeping the disks similar size is the optimum way to do it.
