I'm not a big fan of mc. But I had her first 3 cds as a kid. I stopped liking her once she went Hip hop. I feel like Adele's "21" album reminds me a lot of MC's first album. Vision of love is rolling in the deep because of the elements of soul in both songs.

Why is everyone dwelling on whether or not she is rested or not? She fine and healthy. Mariah has never stopped using that voice of hers. If you listen to all of her music (not just the singles and don't forget Glitter) MC is singing her ass off! Now she has developed nodules on her vocal chords. She can't sing like she wants to all the time. It is still a powerful instrument and with time she has gained more control over it. She has nothing to prove but can if she wants.

I don't like her voice in here, if you listen closely (if only this was in acapella). It's too strained and scratchy. :( These days she could hit 3:27 effortlessly. The deep voice parts are scary. So, NO! I don't like the old Mariah. She got better starting the Daydream era, so sweet yet effortlessly powerful.
@vermutungwer are u insane Mariah voiced changed during the daydream era it was still a great voice but it still wasnt like this go get your ears checked
@170flyguy mariah still has a great voice,she can belt all,so i don't know why some people think she has to prove something,and now that she has let her voice rest for over a year,i bet she'll do it even better!

I hope Mariah would get back to her roots in music as a powerful soulful balladeer. Until recently she's pushing into rap r&b music too much which i think place her on a burnt out genre. People especially her fans got bored about too much rap r&b when she was originally a multi-octave powerful vocalist. So far this is my favorite ballad of Mariah for all time! C'mon guys give me thumbs up.
@madzskie Nick Cannon said in a recent interview that she's been listening a lot to her first albums. And that she's bringing MUSIC back to it's basics in her new album. Also recently she tweeted a photo of her recording in the studio and she looked like she was hitting one of those high notes. So hopefully her new album would be full of beautiful ballads. :)
@ale5677 Wow great news! I can't wait to grab a copy of that new album of Mariah maybe by early or late 2012! You bet she's gonna be back in the charts if ever she's gonna give herself a break to minimize R&B rap recording and get her ass back to the basics! Thumbs up for u man!
@sodalover3 I wish you well was written in 2008 and is one of her best lyrics ever. Cheesy does not necesarilly mean deeper and better lyrics. Languishing is a poem.
Can't believe this wasn't released as a single in the UK, we had to make do with There's Got to Be a Way, which didn't even make the top 50, don't get me wrong There's Got to Be a Way isn't a bad song, but this wipes the floor with it full stop.
This song contains a 80's element, but you can also hear the beginnings of the 90's style as well. Mariah was one of the very influential artists in this time that changed the course of the industry.

with all respect to her, it´s a shame that her image today looks so slutty and her music those days is not as classy as the one she sang in the 90´s, despite this I think that her voice is still AMAZING an her vocals have grown but wish she bck to sing songs like this one! because Mariah´s voice is BEAUTIFUL and is something outside this world fo me, only few singers like Celine, Withney and Leona Lewis are comparable today
@xhonavsky her next album (out next year) is inspired by her first three albums, which as you know are the big vocal ones, she has also commented that her voice is alot stronger since pregancy. :)

I like how mariah made her mark with adult contemporary music as opposed to todays formula of teeny pop catapulting to stardom. No offense to the Britneys of the world. But her music was so sultry and smooth. The world could use a few more Mariah Careys. Talent should be discovered. Not cultivated.

Why is everyone dwelling on whether or not she is rested or not? She fine and healthy. Mariah has never stopped using that voice of hers. If you listen to all of her music (not just the singles and don't forget Glitter) MC is singing her ass off! Now she has developed nodules on her vocal chords. She can't sing like she wants to all the time. It is still a powerful instrument and with time she has gained more control over it. She has nothing to prove but can if she wants.

I don't like her voice in here, if you listen closely (if only this was in acapella). It's too strained and scratchy. :( These days she could hit 3:27 effortlessly. The deep voice parts are scary. So, NO! I don't like the old Mariah. She got better starting the Daydream era, so sweet yet effortlessly powerful.

I hope Mariah would get back to her roots in music as a powerful soulful balladeer. Until recently she's pushing into rap r&b music too much which i think place her on a burnt out genre. People especially her fans got bored about too much rap r&b when she was originally a multi-octave powerful vocalist. So far this is my favorite ballad of Mariah for all time! C'mon guys give me thumbs up.

@madzskie Nick Cannon said in a recent interview that she's been listening a lot to her first albums. And that she's bringing MUSIC back to it's basics in her new album. Also recently she tweeted a photo of her recording in the studio and she looked like she was hitting one of those high notes. So hopefully her new album would be full of beautiful ballads. :)

with all respect to her, it´s a shame that her image today looks so slutty and her music those days is not as classy as the one she sang in the 90´s, despite this I think that her voice is still AMAZING an her vocals have grown but wish she bck to sing songs like this one! because Mariah´s voice is BEAUTIFUL and is something outside this world fo me, only few singers like Celine, Withney and Leona Lewis are comparable today

I like how mariah made her mark with adult contemporary music as opposed to todays formula of teeny pop catapulting to stardom. No offense to the Britneys of the world. But her music was so sultry and smooth. The world could use a few more Mariah Careys. Talent should be discovered. Not cultivated.
