Marty and Dylan were split up when she went to Ireland, so she didn't actually cheat on Dylan. She just didn't tell him about it when she came back from Ireland and agreed to marry him. I really don't like how the show then had Dylan play the wounded party when he found out about it. They were broken up at the time, so really it was none of his damn business.
