Most minorities living in poor neighborhoods are statistically more likely to be incarcerated because of institutional incarceration. In other words, unfairly imprisoned and to have someone who can support you in love is priceless. I didn’t live in a poor neighborhood, but walk through it and as a result became a target by the police. Case was dismissed, I hope you never have to experience anything like that, but I’m sure you would want all the support you can get.

I can almost understand waiting for a husband because you did make a commitment to stay with him in good times and bad. But a boyfriend is not someone that you are truly commited too. I agree that it is selfish of a man to expect his "woman" to wait for him. It would depend on why the dude went to jail. That is beautiful to be dedicated to someone but was he dedicated to her when he committed that crime that caused his incarceration ? No one wants to hear this, but I'm NOT saying all men, but some men when they are locked up for a pro-long of time, they will do some funny things with the same sex, and sometimes they contract horrible things, and when they get out knowing or unknowing they then spread what they contracted. If my man was going to jail for a a pro long of time, I'm sorry but I am cutting all ties from him, like you said it will be very hard for him to get a job once he gets out.

Most minorities living in poor neighborhoods are statistically more likely to be incarcerated because of institutional incarceration. In other words, unfairly imprisoned and to have someone who can support you in love is priceless. I didn’t live in a poor neighborhood, but walk through it and as a result became a target by the police. Case was dismissed, I hope you never have to experience anything like that, but I’m sure you would want all the support you can get.

I don't surround myself with people who break the law, so I don't ever see myself in this type of situation. *BUT* if some freak thing happened and he did end up in prison for whatever reason, then I guess I don't know. I guess it would depend on a lot of things. We all make mistakes, but when we habitually repeat them, it's no longer a "mistake" but a way of life one has chosen. If I stayed with his prison-ass, it would be because I wanted to--not because I felt obligated. :)
