  • this shows he wasn't really a sociopath.... he had his morals... i blame the city for the brothers who have to take the road of a stick up man because of the situation they are in.... i mean i couldn't believe there was a city like baltimore in america.....man baltimore is another victim of deindustrialization

  • @duedfromtheblock i dont think omar is in it for a better position or for a better lifestyle. definitely not money. he in it for as he would say "its all in the game"

  • Conscience do cost.

  • Butchie rules

  • The sophisticated writing of this show never fails to astound me.

  • I so loved Butchie ^^

  • same tie Omar wore in court

  • "conscience do cost", costed Omar's life, D'Angelo's life, McNulty and Freemon's career.

  • No more butchie..No more of this. oh wait

  • Poor Butch. :(

  • "A man in your line of work start worrying about how other people seeing you...playing to other people instead of to himself, he gonna get dead."

And that's exactly why Omar died. He left Puerto Rico to come back for revenge when Butchie was killed. He played to Marlo's hand.

    Damn The Wire was good.

  • @Joshuavbarr That had nothing to do with how other people saw him. Marlo killed Omar's father figure, shit needed to happen. It wasn't because Omar was concerned with how he looked, but because he needed to avenge his friend for being tortured and murdered for absolutely no reason.

  • at 1:50 he kinda looks like pac..

  • @esepapicee more like DMX

  • "Conscience do cost", Buchie......CLASSIC line

  • Omar to Butch

    Gandalf to Frodo

    Obi-One Kenobi to Luke

    Everyone hero needs a butch.

  • The Bunk worked his magic and got to Omar.

  • @floetry30 Omar used that tie to testify in Season 2 against Bird. This scene occurs in Season 3, after Bunk knows Omar was responsible for that shootout with the Barksdales and Omar makes a witness change his story. Omar wraps Officer Dozerman's gun in the tie he already used as both a gift to Bunk and a reminder of his previously helping the police. So when Bunk says he hopes Omar has to use the tie he means he hopes to make Omar stand trial for the killings.

  • Omar: "You sure it's the one?"

Blind man: "___ said that was the one, and who am I to say different".

    I love the wire.

  • Let me be emphatic....

    thumbs-up

    mo-fo's

  • "Glock .40 I belieeeve"... "You tell'em I'm hope'in

he might need this in court someday."

  • I really liked Butchie. Very angry when Chris and Snoop did him like that.

  • 1 person thought the bitch was worth more than a pinky.

  • I just love the 1 on 1 conversations between characters in this series.

  • ALL U CRACKERS STOP LEAVIN COMMENTS STAY ON MILEY OR HANNA

  • I like Butchie cause he's like a Father figure to Omar. Sad that Chris and Snoop killed him to get at Omar.

  • Bunk being a punk....That gun had to come back..top priority for the Deputy Ops..Bunk should have been jumping up and down thankin' Omar's black ass.

  • @WiseGuy5674

bunk helps omar out later when he gets arrested after Chris and Old Face Andre set him up

  • LOL. It was wrapped up in the tie Omar wore to court when he set Bird up... Never noticed that before.

  • I never know what the hell Butch be saying

  • Bunk isn't fat - he's like a bear.

  • @essentialtee09 - Nope. Butchie was just an advisor. And it came across loud and clear on this show. RIP Butchie.

  • He uses that tie in court

  • so where did the gun come from?? why did omar give it back? what was done with the gun?

  • omar found the gun cuz he was feeling guilty over tosha's death. The gun belonged to a police that was shot in an eariler episode and he felt to do something to make up for tosha's death

  • "You just walked up against clever police, that's all. Of course, he's going to try and shame you with the dead girl and children looking up to Omar and his sawed off".

Butchie was so intelligent. The foreshadowing in this opening scene is excellent.

  • Anyone notice that when Butchie tells Bunk there's something he needs to see and Bunk sees the gun, it's wrapped in a tie. That's the tie Omar used in the trial when he testified against Bird. Bunk should have remembered that tie.

  • I think he did remember the tie, which is why he said he hoped to see him wearing it in court someday. Omar wrapped the gun in that tie so that Bunk would know it was from him. I doubt Bunk would fail to get that message.

  • When Bunk says he hopes Omar has to use that tie in court someday, he means he hopes one day he'll be able to make Omar stand trial for a crime

  • @MrZugga

no he means he wants omar to testify. and later on thats the tie omar does wear

  • tripped out hard when i saw that lol

  • "He gon' get dead"

now there's a line. Thank fuck for the brilliant writing. This scene is deep.

  • @wraith696 what happened in this scene?

  • The bitch wasn't worth more than a pinky!

  • Love the writing in this. "I'm blind. Legally. Something you need to see though...".

  • When he originally started looking for the gun he said it was a Glock 9mm, full size so it's the Glock 17, but here it's a Glock .40 the full size so that's a Glock 22, weird contradiction, but in reality Baltimore police carry the Glock model 22 .40 not the 9mm you see in every other scene.

  • "conscience do cost"

  • thats not a newport omar smokin in the second scene... that cigarette all white

  • Omar my fav. character. He that nigga. Even Obama agrees

  • this scene shows that Omar had a heart.

  • "A man got to have a code"-Omar

  • I guess Bunk got to him...

  • That's messed up how they Killed Buthcie.

  • Can somebody explain the thing between butchie and Bunk?

  • A cop had got shot on some corner and his gun went missing, then the higher ups in the police force got pissy and made bunk go hunt down the officers gun

  • He right! Omar trusted the lil boy behind him in the store and he got GOT! Kenard was chosen by marlo because marlo knew Omar had a heart! and he had a conscience.

  • Actually I think Omar had no clue Kenard was there and Marlo wasn't even aware that Omar was gunning for him until AFTER Omar died.

  • marlo new cuz he had snoop and chris out there looking for him. After omar got got he told chris and snoop that he thought thwy did it.

  • Yeah, you're right, I got that mixed up with the fact that Marlo didn't know Omar was talking shit about him, my bad.

  • I was fucking pissed with how Omar got killed. But it kind of makes sense. Kenard in season 3, was one of those kids who idolized Omar. Then for him see him crippled and limping and to easily shoot him in that store was the ultimate disppointment. Omar was a legend, but in the end, he was just another dead body. No matter how honorable or bad ass you are, human beings are worthless when it comes to the game.

Like Poot said "people go one way, world goes another."

  • I think Marlo knew Omar was after him, but he didnt know Omar was calling him out on the streets, they tried to Kill Omar I am sure he knew that little fact that Omar will be after him.

  • Chris saved Marlo's life but keeping omar's calling out from him, If Marlo knew he would have tried facing down Omar & got popped.

  • Marlo didn't choose kenard, after omar died and marlo met with chris and snoop and he said he didn't know who shot him and didn't know if there was even a why.

  • I love thier relationship

  • "Conscious do cost..." -Butchie
