I have studied Design & Concept Design for now 4 years +, and I never used or was shown how to use Texture stock the way you have shown here, the Zebra texture is a classic example of using it out of context with great results, thankyou

A Tutorial in double speed - hmmm makes sense??? Sorry, but i believe that NOBODY can follow anything on the screen in this speed and youtube has no slow motion.... Disable the toolbar and the History and use always hotkeys. Good Mattepainting - but have to learrn how to make Tutorials or call it speed comp.
I believe what he's doing is making a new layer over the top of everything else, filling it with black, and setting the layer to "saturation," and then just painting with whatever color he had pre-selected underneath it and turning it on and off to view the image in color vs monochrome.
- The perspective grid was just drawn with the brush, cloned, and then rotated into place
- 99% of this painting was done using the default chalk brush (from the dry media brush set which comes w/ PS)
- In general, try to collect your own textures (as in take the pics yourself) and background plates. And always refer to nature - its not copyrighted! :)
@Fengdesigns Ah it wasn't mentioned in your other videos (or I missed it) that the chalk brush is from the dry media brush set. There is a chalk brush that comes with the default brush layout too and it didn't look anything like the one you were using.
@AaronHarvey15 Feng is a big advocate of the basic round brush. Yes he uses custom brushes, but when you are learning the basics, using the most basic brush will yield the most gain in skill.
@TheVoices297 thats what i was wondering too. im pretty sure you can still be sued if they can prove its someone elses texture in your work. im not a lawyer or anything but i shall look it up. but if i dont find anything im not going to use another persons photos for anything, just to be safe
What brush types and styles do you use??

I noticed that occasionally you turned the drawing into black & white to look at the values, how do you do that?
XHL88 1 month ago
@XHL88 he created a new layer, filled it with black and changed it's layer style to saturation.

- 99% of this painting was done using the default chalk brush (from the dry media brush set which comes w/ PS)

alston2reel 1 year ago
What is Feng using for the perspective grid? Is it the pen (vector) tool, or just the brush tool? Thanks
miniteichman 1 year ago
@miniteichman Looks like the Line Tool and the Transform Tool to scale and match the perspective.

So using the textures of others photos is fine and wont have any issues copyright wise?
