  • Thumbs up for Dr. Dre in the background.

  • Love the video! I subbed!

  • "like a wild animal ,opertunity presents itself" Also like a wild animal, someone cannot spell 'opportunity' Geez L2spell and l2eatsammidges.

  • May there always be light on your path, Trapper Jack.

  • yeah baking soda and sand will take soot off pots but why use a resource ya gotta buy with cash when nature provides for free. Grab a bunch of brown pine needles into a wad and wet em and scour it off. Great to wash the inside of the pot too and you don't need soap and no soap residue. Less water ya got to haul and heat. sand is hard to wash out and who wants to chomp on a bit that did not get washed out. Pine needles work and they get the job done better.

  • Did you eviscerate the trout from the gills? I saw when you popped it into the pan, it didn't look like you had gutted it in the traditional way. And the severance of the head was peculiar. Just curious, if you have fish cleaning techniques you'd like to share....

  • is that your daughter i hear in the back?! good video btw!

  • so why did you leave the head on the fish when you were cooking it?

do you eat the head, eyes?

  • 3:25 you can see the car he drove there in

  • the rocks didnt look like crabs or scorpions...they looked like rocks.

  • hey trapperjack, great video!

whats that french fries-like vegetable at 4:18? (Doesnt look like potatoe to me :S)

How do you know so much about the outdoors anyways? How did u learn it? I mean did u grow up with it or did u read books or take courses etc? What way of learning would u recommend?

  • @cordonsport5m those were potatoes... much of my exp i learned in the woods, most books dont offer the info. i also Native friends who live by thier ancesters tradition.

  • @cordonsport5m - Find a 1960's copy of the Boy Scout Handbook...

  • Coool~!

I subscribed to you, you have awesome videos. I actually found your channel by looking up how to make a spear....

    lol, that pony:

    lalalaaaaa....-moves closer-

    Oh, hiiii.

  • here's a few tips, carry a 15x30 tarp, you can cut 12 poles. make a teepee have fire all night with a self feeding fire inside.

spray all your cookware/eating ware. with HIGH TEMP PAINT. it prevents the pitting of your coffee pots etc.

make a tripod you can have a fire inside and take the coals to cook with under your tripod.

Thanks for sharing what you do, here are just a few tips I knew....

    keep it in the woods.

  • I live in Maine and use an oil candle for shelter heat. I have NO idea why I never thought to put a rock over the dang candle. What a "rockin"idea! Man! I like your vids brother.

  • I liked the trout oil tip! Damned right about your unpretentious style;too many 'survivalists' push such a rigid theory on what it takes to survive.Keep up the good work man!

  • Wild animals? Free ranging ponies that walk right up to ya huh? lol Brother I enjoy your videos and you have some good stuff here usually... really hope the wild animal thing was a joke . Kinda hard to tell if you're serious or kidding. Glad to see someone doing what they love!

  • Where are you at in the smokies, trapper?

  • I like when I check my YouTube subscriptions at night before bed and find such great videos. Thanks Trapper Jack!

  • Reminds me of McDowell County NC. Very beautiful country.

  • TrapperJack, Great comment on survival techniques. I to have always said use what works, primitive, traditional, and modern. Absolutely no reason to limit yourself. Great vid.-Critr'

  • Nice video Trapper.., great idea with heating a stone for warmth.

  • Try "opportunity" instead.

  • You only shoot videos, while you are working at your craft. I love it.

  • I typacilly don't comment too often ,but this video was an informative, and entertaining production. As a subscriber I look foreward to more of your excellent works.

  • Did you name the rocks? Or did you think the rocks looked like a scorpion?

Also that's beautiful country trapper jack, I wish I could join ya!

  • Trapper Jack....how do you deal with the ticks out there in the woods?

  • I agree with you. Too many survivalists like to say theirs is the only way of survival. That's a darn limiting way of looking at life. It looks like you had a beautiful trip. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • I am not far from the Smokies myself! I plan to go on some hikes there this summer. The great thing about where I live, in Tennessee, is that there are many national forests that I can experience.

  • Well done. Great stuff.

  • another good one,thanks

  • lol u caught that fish with ur hands or what?

  • I got hard when saw those mountains. Great video.
