I've noticed with almost everyone running Mindslaver, that they "only use them on those that deserve it". Honestly, quit using this as a cop-out. If you run it, just have the stones to admit that your going to use it to it's fullest, and obviously w/ Sissay, that your going to recur it over and over.
I also have a Sisay and the only "combo" I have in there is the Mindslaver as well, however I can do it with Mistveil Plains or with Yomiji, Who Bars the Way. One card I would recommend that works well in my deck that fits your win in the Red Zone strategy is Akroma's Memorial, even just giving all of your creatures haste makes a huge difference as you probably already know and it being a 7 mana artifact I've never really had a problem with other players thinking it is unfair.
@Pantherx812 Thanks for the recommendations. I think Akroma's Memorial would be an interesting addition. I'll have to get a hold of one and try it out. I haven't given Yomiji a fair try because I found his casting cost a bit high. How does he play for you?
@cmdrplyr Most of the time Yomiji is actually just as unspectacular as you would expect him to be. My deck is like a ramp deck so his mana cast isn't too high for me, its just the lack of value you get for his mana cost that usually makes him underwhelming for me most of the time. For the same mana I could be casting the Memorial which wins me a lot more games.
@Amac173 Thats not odd at all. I'm pretty picky with my sleeves as well. I use the Clear Ultra Pro Sleeves. They are significantly thicker than penny sleeves so they protect your cards better. Plus I prefer to see the original card backs on my cards.
I'm surprised I don't see Ghost Quarter and Tectonic Edge played over Strip Mine more often. I know Strip Mine is strictly better, but for a casual format the other two do just what you need when it comes to blowing up Cabal Coffers and other player's Gaea's Cradles so you can play your own while removing that option of really abusing them with Crucible of Worlds.
too many tutor perhaps.seems like i saw a few more than i run myself.seems to be a little more aggro too.i run Sisay myself, but i found myself going the control or ramp route often, more often than straight-up aggro.first search target tends to be Saffi :) i have a Tolsimir in my deck that i never really used lol oh and mindslaver sucks.it's a card i'd only use in a tournament
Very good deck that looks solid. You seem Commander reliant but, since there great cards on there own your not over doing it or solely relying on your commander. Also like the new intro after seeing deck owner with commander. I just hope your able to stick to decks that fit that instead of money decks.
...one of which can be Sisay, and Mindslaver, plus twelve mana. As you can see, "infinite" is in quotes because its very convoluted and frail. I've done it to finish off the last player at a table more than once. A few of the legends and creatures you run in there, I used to run but I took out because they garnered too much hate when used together. When people know you're capable of playing Tooth and Nail and go get Kamahl and Elesh Norn, you get hated off the table real quick. Sisay 4 Life!!!!
I like some of the parts of your deck. I have a Sisay deck of my own but it's more of a W/G control build. I run a lot of wrath effects and just get ahead on card advantage by using Sisay. I have to say, I wouldn't run Crucible and Stripmine in the same deck on strictly principle alone. It just feels dirty. Thing I've learned through playing with my own Sisay deck is that you can do an "infinite" Mindslaver combo with the cards you have in there. Mistveil Plains, two white permanents...
@KroggandMohawk I'm glad you like my deck. Thanks for mentioning the Mistveil Plains + Mindslaver combo for me. I had to leave out some things to keep the video length down.
I didn't mention this in the vid but I'm not a Crucible + Stripmine kind of guy either. But I have so many useful utility lands and I needed another way to bring them back. I usually disclaim that I won't be doing anything dirty with Crucible when I play it.
Gaea's Cradle is BAWS, in a sliver deck :D
