  • AMAZING, my favorite Travers song and what a sweet live version

  • Damnit. Nvm. Just read prior posts

  • Ok... What movie was this from????

  • Watch how he's picking & controling the volume knob, amazing!

  • Pat Travers is awesome. Totally underrated and under appreciated.

  • This song was in the 80's movie "Valley Girl". Cool tune, but an odd choice for that movie.

  • @ZenDriveSeven Well, maybe. When a movie is scored, usually it's the director and the editor sit in front of the footage co-opping to see what works best. I don't know who chose this song for that particular segment but if you'll recall, there was a long car scene involving the two guys and the two "Valley" girls driving down the Hollywood strip. A lot of songs might have played in here as well or better but I have no qualms with this. The whole track rocked. The songs made the movie.

  • @kilts4u2 In the movie the song actually comes on the radio in the car, one of the Val chicks says i hate this song and NIck Cage says I lov this song, turns it up, and the sequence starts. I always thought they were trying to show what kind of music the "hollywood" guys were into...unique, rocking stuff & not the plastic new wave stuff the valley kids were into. Same as the Plimsols in the bar scene later..

  • @hudooguru Love that scene in the movie! It's the kinda thing i do in my truck all the time....a freakin rockin jam comes on...there goes the volume all the way up!

  • @hudooguru

yeah the Cyndi Lauper type douches at the party.. The Plimsouls had it right

  • Pat has always rocked! And get this: His Lead was Pat Thrall!??!!

The 2 together were a crew to behold.

I believe Tommy Aldridge played with this band.

  • i heard he sold that guitar on e bay

  • what guitar is he playing???

  • @dryice129

1983 Gibson Les Paul Double Cut special order--only two were ever made. PT had one and the other was Joe Walsh.

  • dang.. i guess i wont be getting one of those haha

  • @BloozeRockJunky It's trivia info like this that i LOVE!! Man it's guys like u that keep me coming back...oh not to mention the freakin endless videos of freakin AWESOME MUSIC!!

  • Pat don't need no stinkin' keyboards

  • @Mp25DIII it would be nice for this tune and crash and burn

  • I was fortunate to see Pat at the legendary Bayou @ Wisconsin & K in Georgetown/DC 1985. Great small stage venue for him! Bayou is long gone now :(

  • There are few things in life better than a brilliant guitarist! This is just fabulous, a really strong sound. Bought one of his CDs years ago, thanks for this reminder of how good he is. To someone watching this, I La La La Love You ...XXX

  • Excellent domain(control) of the volume of the guitar, Pat travers great ....I hope to see next in Spain to live tour.... a fan since 1980

  • I, too, first heard this song in the movie Valley Girl, and bought the soundtrack just for this cut. It still moves me after all this time. Brilliant song, stands the test of time.

  • Damn this ROCKS!!! Are there any Pat Travers DVD's available?

  • Yes there are..."Boom Boom-Live At The Diamond Club" from 1991, and "Hooked On Music" from 1976. This video that you commented on is taken from a limited-edition release called "Etched In Stone" from 2003.

  • It Damn sure does ROCK!

  • We cant wait to have Pat at our event over the 4th of July!

    Rock on Mr. Travers!

  • i remember valley girl i brought the album just 4 this song

  • PT, a pre-MTV guitarist. I recall in the late 70's, PT and EVH were considered the best in the business. It's too bad he never had the big hit song or album like EVH. I still own most of his stuff; his trademark vocals and guitar licks make him one of the great forgotten rock guitarists in the last 30 years. Personally, I think Black Pearl was his best album and probably the most underrated.

  • I remember my sister seeing him in the late 70's in Omaha and me seeing him at the old FM Station in North Hollywood in the early 90's. Cool tune and he still rocks the house!

  • You know, I like to I love to play this song on my guitar out in the garage, with my Vox ac-30 CRANKED... My daughter can hear me at her school (about a half-mile away). "Oh dad, we heard you play I la-la-la love you today. My teacher says you should sing it, too!" I don't think that will happen ;)

  • Luv Pat Travers from early days when he played in a small club in my hometown Utica, NY. then again in a small club several years back in a local club here in Putnam, CT. What talent this guy has and soooo underrated as Fred said.

  • True Story:

I blew out the speakers in my Camaro with this song. Pissed me off, but I did have to laugh.

    Now, it's even funnier...

  • One of rock's most underrated artists. At one point he had Pat Thrall, Tommy Aldridge and Mars Cowling in his band. Just amazing. Required listening: "Heat in the Street" and "Putting It Straight."

  • I had forgotten how much I like this guy.

  • Obviously a pro shot..... AWESOME!!!

More please...... is this from the "Etched In Stone" DVD?

  • I've posted the whole concert so feel free to check it out. It was shot in Tempe, AZ on 12/31/02

  • a long time ago...I ordered the 'Black Pearl' album after I watched 'Valley Girl'

  • This is Awesome, thanks for posting it, ROCK ON Pat Travers.
