@RalfyBebe Thank you for the reply. I really enjoyed my walk around the villages. The philippinos all around called me Joe and the kids followed me, why? because i tossed out pesos to them and watched them fight over the coins and laugh, then followed me again, I loved it. I tried to tip large too to the tricycle drivers. mostly the villages off road were very interesting.
i was stationed there in 67-68. it is a little worse now then back then. same story no matter where you go the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. gov't does not help. by the way i was in the 1890th comm sq.
the song is cuban - buena vista social club, but really captures the sound of poverty, though I dont use that for amusement, it just seemed to fit. My wife is stunningly beautiful and lives here, despite, the filth, these girls all look so great. i took these pictures on my time out for a long walk.
last march 2011, couple months ago. everywhere is terrible mess. building projects unfinished, starving manegy dogs on the road, a trash piles. sad huh?

When were these photos taken? Mactan looks a lot worse than when I was stationed there in 1967.
