In a real fight to defending his life, who has the winner's advantage: A master of karate with full knowledge of kata's bunkai and makiwara experienced or a Wing Chun master trained in wooden dummy (mudjong). In your opinion who's the one that would survive?
It is always the same story with some karate. A alievo that attacks in a predictable and pausing after each attack (and then NOT really sticks ..) and "Sensei" that moves slowly (with pauses He also also that there are no real fight ..) but that seems effective because `is a game where the attacker does not attack.
EU POSSO FALAR , JA O VI NA LUTA, EM 1974, DEMONSTRAÇÃO NO COLÉGIO MARISTA, EM RIBEIRÃO PRETO, NA ACADEMIA DE SENSEI OKYAMA. NAO TEM IGUAL, DA LINHAGEM DE SENSEI NAKAYAMA , É O ÚNICO. NAO TEM IGUAL.
Sorry my friend. Machida Senior is really very good and deserves all respect. Not just becuuse Lyoto, but because he was one of the most import figures to develop Bahia´s Karate. I was not speaking of Machida Sensei, of course!!
@tokaidosan Even Yoshizo Machida of Belem, Brazil? I don't think he's like a "kid" compared to Okuda. His son, Lyoto, is one of the best Shotokan Karate-Ka in the world and one-time UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Could you please tell me which of Okuda's students fought in the UFC, or became world champions in kumite (WKF or other known organization).
Oss!
And Butokukan uses closed fists for the majority, most of the demonstrations are open handed, even for the blocks..
