See a therapist about it if you have to and can (/can stand to), but one way or another, try to see that these monsters were and continue to be bad for you. I just can't believe why this would not only happen, but your parents inflicting such abuse to a child of their own they are suppost to love, shelter, and protect from the outside world. My heart goes out to you as i myself have a friend that has endured such treatment therepy. His parents never laid a hand on him, however gave the same altimatium to change or be disowned. To this day, they still do not know his truth.

2 thoughts. 1) Those of you who are saying how horrible religion arent you being just as closed minded as his parents are? 2) I am a Christian, I'm actually a Pastor, and i am appalled by what people do in the name of Christ. I do not agree with homosexuality, but I also dont agree with hating people who do what I call sin. I KNOW that God loves Sam, me and even those of you who who are anti-God and that I am no better than anyone, I'm just saved by a God who loves me.

1) There's no comparison. We aren't applying aversion therapy (actually torture) to religious people to get them to stop. Suggesting that our rejection of religion is similar to Sam's parents attitudes is not only manifestly false it is offensive.
2) None of us homosexuals care if you or this "god" agree with homosexuality or not. We exist, religion is a choice not sexuality.

It's sad that he has can show the forgiveness of Christ while his parents who preached it never showed it. Also sad that everyone is preaching equality on here but wants to cuss out anyone who stands up for religion. I know what they did was EXTREMELY wrong, but I'm a Christian and don't get how anyone could torture like that and think it's right in any way, I also don't condone same sex relationship, just never been right to me, me and my friends think its icky lol. Then go as far away as phyiscally possible. Never call them again, but let them know how they can contact you. Send them PFLAG and MCC literature. What gets me is where are the emergency room personel, where are the family services personel when these things happen? These reparative therapy places need to be inspected randomly on a monthly basis to make sure nothing like this happens ever again and they need to be inspected for equipment they use for these purposes no one should go through this in a country like this.

Please, please, please, I implore the man in this video to stop trying to re-establish a relationship with his parents. See a therapist about it if you have to and can (/can stand to), but one way or another, try to see that these monsters were and continue to be bad for you. They will not be happy unless you stop being all that you are, and they won't ever see that their abuse was wrong. It's something few like to admit, but some people simply WILL NOT CHANGE (for the good) no matter what.

Why is he willing to "give them a chance" if the eventually come around to "accept" him? No sane person would want to associate with monsters like that who would be willing to torture and even kill their own child. Something doesn't seem right in his demeanor. The fact that he speaks so nonchalantly about the whole ordeal says to me that there is still some work to be done as far as therapy helping him recover from such torture. I wish him FULL mental and emotional recovery and happiness.
