Iif you don't live in AZ you don't know what the issue is. Do ANY of you live in Arizona? Have you even read this law?

About 20-30% of the kids in my high school were illegal immigrants. That's a huge percentage considering about 55% of the students were Hispanic. Those illegals' parents don't pay taxes (besides sales taxes), so basically AZ tax-payers are giving them a free ride. Why should illegal immigrants get free schooling when US citizens don't get that luxury?

As long as the Jobs are still available they will keep on coming over. The Labour unions on the Left should Join the Anti Illegal Immigration people of the Right and push to have the companies shut down and those arrested who hire them. But they will continue to clean out the companies while leaving the owners alone.

But i know the feeling many of the proponents of this system have. It was the same way with the Civil Rights in the 50's. Why don't they just have a database of citizens and check it against the paperwork submitted during an arrest? That's what they do in Europe. If you're overstaying a visa here you can be deported for riding the metro without a ticket. I'm totally against pulling people over for looking or speaking a certain way, but if they're already pulled over, then it shouldn't be that difficult to check their immigration status. Same way they check for warrants.

Did i say i was threatened by the i.d.? No i did not. But there are many people especially conservatives who are strongly against the National I.D. concept because they feel it is big Government edging it's way toward Big Brother. I don't have a problem with it. They will take Dna , blood samples and finger prints and put it in a database linked to your I.D. And anyone who does not have one can possibly be arrested or deported. I have nothing to fear.

But they did not do that. And look at recent history. Look at the Patriot act and the warrantless wiretapping. Both of those were used against regular citizens. Could you imagine if Richard Nixon had access to those? He wouldn't have gotten impeached.

A Republican candidate for Congress in Iowas 3rd District Pat Bertroche is calling for microchips to be installed in immigrants. Scott Silverman, Chairman of the Board of VeriChip Corporation, has proposed implanting the company's RFID tracking tags in immigrant and guest workers back in 2006 on Fox and Friends. Instead they will just put the chip in our national I.D. like the Passport.
