I am an ametuer scientist working on my own experiments at home. This is simple. The vibration of the plate vibrates differently in different spots. The distance from the center is the reason it makes the powder alike on the sides. Certain frequencies make it vibrate certain ways which is why it makes a "perfect picture".
The REAL reason this works (without the mystical bullshit) is simply that in any standing wave on the surface of a solid like this one, there are nodes and antinodes. The nodes are places of absolute rest - they are stabilized by the opposing motion of the two adjacent antinodes - so it doesn't move. This is simple. The vibration of the plate vibrates differently in different spots. The distance from the center is the reason it makes the powder alike on the sides. Certain frequencies make it vibrate certain ways which is why it makes a "perfect picture".

The REAL reason this works (without the mystical bullshit) is simply that in any standing wave on the surface of a solid like this one, there are nodes and antinodes. The nodes are places of absolute rest - they are stabilized by the opposing motion of the two adjacent antinodes - so it doesn't move. The salt rests in these places because it's simply forced off of the other places by the motion.

@Zee96969696 The shape of the object itself has a lot to do with it... when anything vibrates to a pressure wave (sound), it does so in those symmetrical 'ripples', which originate from the center because of how it's attached to what I'm guessing is the source. Ever seen a shockwave?? It's like that.
When the sound goes higher, the WAVELENGTH of the sound is shorter, and so there are more nodes and antinodes created on the surface of the object.

@Zee96969696 well, u sound assuring, but I must admit I don't completely understand it, so do u know is there like studies of the shapes these notes produce on the metal? like is there maths behind it? and does that geometry reappear somwhere else in nature like this? it still seems like there is deeper reason for the shapes, like it may be a mathematical reason, they don't just change in size, they change in shapes, why? is there an easy way to explain in case u do know why? say, it's geometry

True crop circles don't have Any bent or broken stalks and some are woven not stomped.
They register on a geiger counter, heal the plants affected and genetically altered as if they always grew that way.
They're geometrically perfect and show the process of hydrogen and oxygen being separated.
