  • @34steelers36 pls dont play with toddlers. they can smash your face yet.

  • @daverock78 hey he was a sophmore, i was a senior, it was all fair

  • TT rules are ITTF rules which is international, you seem to be a very uninformed person about Table Tennis.

  • any1 who plays shakehand have their pointer finger leading over the edge of the paddle?

  • I would like to bring up a question on service if anyone can offer some opinions..

Recently 2010 and 2011 I have been noticing when Wang Ho serves he throw the ball back almost at 45 degree angle and sometimes hit the ball at the highest point since the ball is almost in a horizontal flight path when throwing back like he did. 2 things, the rule is asking for straight up and down, 2nd you touch the ball

on it's down path. Is it still a valid rule?

  • @utahjai u can throw however u want as long as u thro it 6 inches into the air

  • @rapidkill1000

Just in case you do not have the rules of table tennis ready.. here is the rule "2.6.2 The server shall then project the ball near vertically upwards, without imparting spin, so that it rises at least 16cm after leaving the palm of the ...."

  • @utahjai

    US is different from china

  • Liu serves fantastically

  • Ma Long is very kindly, he is different when he playing a match, and the chines player have a very Good coach - Liu Guoliang.

  • The god of serving in action ^^

  • Sick.

  • Comment removed

  • 太豪洨了 又轉又低 我也想這麼強

  • wang liqin stands different in his serve.

  • CALLATE TU!

  • ma long is crackin up

  • Ok since so many people want a translation. This is a post-training exercise that is used to relieve stress. Ma long sets up the paddle and you have to serve it between the net and the paddle. Liu Guo Liang is saying that anyone on the national team can serve that low regularly but when they are asked to do so, their mentalities changes. The pressure cause irregularities in you rmind so you arent able to perform regularly. The point is to just play with a normal mind set.

  • Thank you for your accurate translation of what is going on in this video.

  • @demystifiedwu1 haha, the other unspoken point is that liu guoliang is a total legend and is still amazing :)

  • @demystifiedwu1 Thanks a lot for translate it.

  • Arent Ma Long and Wang Liqin best friends?

  • really? didnt know ^^

  • Yeah I think there are!

  • what the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!

    simply amazing...

  • haha i love the ending part when Wang Liqin tries and Liu is like, gimme the ball im gonna show you

  • he never said that lol stop making things up

  • i didn't say that he acutally did it, i meant that it looked liked it

  • can anyone translate into english?

  • i can only remember the end having just watched it. its saying how Liu Guoliang could hit the camera, and then they could all do it. and how this is just a little game after the olympics because he likes to keep a happy/gaming spirit in his team

  • You didn't understand at all....

  • mind gimme ur version then? *facepalm*

  • What he talked about is training minds when facing pressure in this special way, it has nothing todo with happy spirit.

  • That's God of Service!!!

  • the only thing i love about china is its table tennis ¡¡¡¡¡

  • your forgot the food. the food is also good xD

many thing is good, not "only" the table tennis

  • @UsakoKirei

Sorry, I just don't like in own blood boiled sneak for dinner... But the Chinees can play some serious tabletennis that's for sure!

  • toss the ball atleast six inches from an open palm. Ma Long did get called once for his toss at the WTTC but it seems to belegal

  • Even though it's amazing, toss is illegal. If that stupid toss rule wasn't approved, you can see that serve effective. I think Ma Long copied the service style from Lui as their toss are the same.

  • How was that toss illegal? Please explain . . .

  • He tosses the ball too horizontal almost not rising. If you ask the President and other umpires, they will say Ma Long always does it too even Wang Hao sometimes. This kind of toss will be the same with high toss ones as it will help with the speed and spin on the ball.

  • Fuck! These people played tabletennis for half of their life, they know better than you

  • I know that that's why I'm just saying his toss is illegal. Ask any umpires and they'll tell you that.

  • so professional!!

  • does anybody make a tribue of Liu gouliang?...i cant find and good movie about him on youtube...could someone send me a link plz..thanks alot

  • amazing

  • lol theyre so fucking amazing, hahaha those underspins are super heavy yo

  • Holy crap.

  • try doing 100% with more spin

  • Great Servers?

How about He Zhi Wen? I think pips out players like Liu Gouliang and He Zhi Wen have done a good job in serving with a pips out rubber. Very tricky. Watch how He Zhi Wen owned Schlager.

  • lui is not pips out and he zhi wen serve is not that good personally and cause zhi wen owned schlager once doesnt mean anything

  • Liu gouliang was a pips out player and won many world ranked titles with a pips out rubber. (Clippa FH and Mendo BH, which he seldom used). Yes in this video, he was using a smooth rubber. He is just making a demo. Maybe he used Ma Lin's blade or Wang Hao.

He zhi wen's serve? Yes, personally it's not that good because it's just a simple fast ball with a side spin and with proper direction.

Good serving is not about giving the ball tremendous spin, It's about placement & 3rd ball attack.

  • illegal serve lol

He used his arm to hide the ball

That's why he retired so early lol

  • they made that rule just to stop his domination. they banned his pips rubber to do the samething.

  • pips out is not banned

  • its not but the ybanned the specific one that he was using...

  • most likely

he probably had some rubber made in some private factory that was handmade

  • I think he used a TSP Spin Pips or something. I don't know why it was banned. But later on, he used the Stiga Clippa .

  • He is the best server in the world along with J.O Waldner

  • Wake up. He can use his left hand to beat 11:0.

  • liu guoliang is beast

  • hahahahahhaaaa...liu the best^^^^

  • And about China knowing something that people in europe dont know has to do with ourself I think. If we see a chinese player playing TT, in the back of your mind you think he must be good cos he is chinese. Also the mistery of the people in china have the same eyes, very look alike apearances and when they play a match they never get angry or laugh or show emotions. Thats in my opinion what makes us think they are so good. anyway thats my opinion about it, dont attack me if you think im wrong :)

  • I once was in China for a few weeks and saw them practicing, I was there to watch them. They practice all day long with little pauses of few minuts in between and at 8 o clock at night they stop to eat and watch their training videos, match videos and talk with their coaches. Then they go to bed and the next day the same thing all over again. If you compare this to trainings in europe, young talented players practice 4-6 hours a day, no wonder why chinese have alot more top players.

  • they dont do that all year. they do it during close doors sessions fwe months before major events.

  • You were allowed to watch them? I thought it was a big secret. I think the key to China dominancy in table tennis isn't just practice time, but it also has to do with tactics, philosophy, and knowledge of the sport. Perhaps China knows something about the sport that the world doesn't know. Other communist countries have the same traing program as China, but they didn't do well, namely North Korea and Vietnam.

  • yep i was allowed to watch them and even practice with them, not all day but still a few hours. They also gave me useful hints. Maybe they know something bout the sport that we dont know, but tbh i think its all about practice. For example what i saw in china was that they dont practice with exercices but just a few shots. In my club they make long exercices which we have to do for 15 min, in china they do 1 shot for about an hour. They also got alot of coaches in china, in europe not so much

  • Yeah, that's a nice idea, one shot per hour, like an assembly line. After so many hours and so many days, one can put all the shots to use. Great idea.

  • First of all, if you want to be good in any sports, you must give up your human rights => Your couch can kill your ass any time. => No fooling around.

  • Also, even if China doesn't know anything that the world doesn't know about table tennis, they would still dominant. First of all, they're a communist country with millions of people playing the sport. As a result, they have more talents there. Once a talent is found, the government invest in him or her. Unlike in Europe or America, we are on our own. Until we make a name for ourselves, no one sponsors us. In China, everything is paid for by the government. Sports is like a military branch.

  • 700 in RMB

  • China is no longer a communist country.

  • Okay, Mr. Brain-Wash.

  • Uhmmm, Mr. Brain-Bleached, as long as you keep on shouting out non-sense without basing your arguments on any facts. Is China a communist country or is it not?

No matter what it is, in this century it will kick your ass in everything. Table tennis is just a minor issue.

  • I admire your national pride, but it is you who are not speaking the facts. China is a communist country simply because they represent themselves as such. Anyhow, no one knows what the future will hold, but as of now China is still considered a developing country. Base on that fact, your agrument about her is totally false. If you deny that China is not a developing country, then there's not point having this discussion.

  • China's official ideology is "socialism with Chinese characteristics". But US media and politicians label China as "red commie" so American boys will be willing to die fighting China.

  • Not true.

  • Try to disagree with the government and find out if China is not a communist country... lol

Your ass will be in prison so fast...Oh, and forget about human rights!

  • Of course I know that. You don't have to tell me. I was trying to educate the morons who were against the very fact that China is a communist nation. Perhaps you didn't read the initial comments that led to the current ones.

  • and that is because of their communistic ideology. Of course....

  • I think he's a better server than Waldner because he scored more aces than Waldner did. However, Waldner is a better overall player, who's better at rallying than Liu. Even Waldner had a difficult time returning Liu's serves. If Liu's ranked #1 in having the best serve, then Waldner is only second to him. By the way, Liu earns an annual salary of around $110,000 as a Chinese head coach. That's an equivalent of $700K in the US, which puts him in the top upper middle-class. Not bad!

  • er...110k in USD? even if you make 700k tahts pretty low for such an important person

  • seems low but if you live in China you can live with that amount of money, you wont live like a king but you sure not poor then. He probably never has to work anymore if he stops coaching and same goes for the players. In europe if you are sub top or even a top player you still need a part time job to survive. Thats also why there is less good european players, they need to work, study and so on. In China when you got talent you play tabletennis all day long.

  • you cant imagine how little 700k is in china. i came from china and my family makes about few milloin a year yet we are pretty middle class

  • DOLLARS NOT YEN

  • We're talking US currency, correct? If $700K is considered a middle-class income in China, then obviously it's in the lower-class in the US, which is not true. Perhaps you have a different definition of income classes than most people, demy..wu1. Dude, if you make a $100K in China, you can live very comfortably, let alone $700K.

  • different type players.

Liu is Pimple out pendholder quick attack plush RPB.

Waldner is Pimple in shakehander loop plus quick attack.

Liu always tries to beat you in first 3 shots. Waldner is better after 3 shots, so his rally better. Kong Linghui has same style as waldner. Those 3 guys are all great and grand slam holders.

Liu's style is Chinese traditional style, only chinese can do it. but require younger age, becase it's QUICK. that's why Liu retire early.

  • Why are you telling us this? I think all true table tennis fans know that about Liu, Kong, and Walder.

  • One of the best servers of all time.

Liu and Waldner are the best I've seen.

  • hahaha lol nice to see that even guys like ma long are impressed

  • He is a chinese master.

  • Crazy serve!!!!

  • lol, other world class players in 5 do 1, he could do it all day long... hes truly a legend of the sport

  • God of services o.O

  • wow, very nice found!!!

  • If this is a recent interview/report, it looks like LGL lost some weight. Good for him. Now to studying those serves.

  • wth.. even WLQ cant do it at first time.. good technique.. ma long is very promising player from china..

  • honestly, ...he s the best of the best .....

serve,....technique....whatever it is ....that is unbelievable demonstration of serve
