These guys are unpredicable sometimes. A drunk man on a motorbike at Geita, Tanganyika (later Tanzania) thought his friend was riding pillion, until his back got severely lacerated. It was a full-grown leopard hitching a night-ride. It was 1960, deep in bush of NW Tanzania. Another leopard chased a Sikh friend out of a disused mine-tunnel, where he'd gone to relieve himself. They will as a last resort, but a hyena has the most powerful jaws for a carnivore and can easily damage or injure a leopard which is a solidary hunter if this happens it will usually starve to death, so they wont take the chance!

but there are like shit loads of hyenas in the wild. i think they do much better as they are scavengers. what would be the point of killing a hyena. it's not easy to survive and hunt in the wild which is something you realise especially if u watch a video about a cheetah. they need to conserve their energy. killing a hyena is as pointless as trying to explain your point of view to a fool or somebody who considers themselves precious.

@angelic510 leopards are solitary animals.. hyenas live in packs.. leopards arent like lions at all really.. lions live in prides with one dominate male who protects his females and offspring from other male lions while the lionesses do all the hunting and child raising... leopards live alone(unless its a mother with cubs) and only get together to mate... just like cheetahs, mountain lions, tigers, and i believe jaguars

Leopards have a sort of :lock joint: at the wrist of each leg, this helps them stay stable when climbing or coming down a tree, or hunt from a tree, lions have no such lock joint, thats why they are such clumsy climbers, all amazing creatures.

Since they're quite heavy, they have to watch what branches they can step on to reach the food stashed up there. Leopards don't have to worry about this as much because they're much lighter.

true... but wildlife photography is a thankless job! Sometimes the cameraperson is hundreds of meters away from the animal being shot. It is hard enough to keep track of the animal as it disappears and reappears from bushes and long grass... they need better cameras to capture high quality video even at high levels of zoom.
