Monotheism is easier to understand compared to Hinduism.Hinduism has a myriad of Philosophies that are inconsistent with one another although each regards itself at least in title as being Hindu.To me personally Hinduism is a way of life.Like most of the religious beliefs that have originated in the sub Continent it is deeply rooted in culture and tradition.So where do you draw the line between what is faith based or divine commandment and human societal behavior ?

I disagree that the atheistic philosophy of ancient India is a part of the modern institution called religion, a certain exception to reason accorded special status by the modern democratic nation state. Hinduism is the fucked up superstitions. the disgusting caste system, the oppressive institutionalized misogyny and the various other institutionalized beliefs that fed the scam artists, charlatans, pseudoscience peddlers and godmen who are part of the institution of Hinduism.
@AustrianAtheist Atheists are not at all repressed in India and Bangladesh. However, in Pakistan, one has to be careful because of the blasphemy laws there...
