They were so good back in the 80's. Damn music like this is not made anymore. Very talented musicians. They were way better than any other band back then with the exception of Kim Salmons formations, and maybe, the beasts of bourbon. Still, Died pretty were better.
OMG - you used to stand on a milk create to see over your crazy druged fucked fans, love ya then and now xxx wow the seriously alternative days up at the Kardoma - Kings Cross, Sydney, Max's, Hopetown, etc can you tell I was a groupie for you lot? And they were the days of "Vinyl Records" man that seems a lifetime ago LOL
I always wanted to know the name of that song because I had taped it from a college radio station program (on CKUT) back in 1987 and I never knew the title. Now I know. Thanks a lot for uploading !
Phenomenal, always been one of my favorite songs by any band. Saw them live once in Boston late 80's and they were mind-blowing.... what an incredible album this was. (and yes it was an album and a bloody sweet looking one at that)
1986 wasn't only The Smiths, XTC, Bon Jovi and The Beastie Boys. It was also Died Pretty with this remarkable debut album! I find them highly superior to Hoodoo Gurus!
Hey, to the person who -1 thumb downed my comment, mind your own business. I can't help it if I worked for this great Band and many others like them from that era. Grow up and get a life!
It always amazes me how songs can be meaningful even when their lyrics are unclear. I'm pretty sure the first line is "telepathy eyes" (i.e. eyes that see what the other person is thinking, or which reveal what the owner is thinking).
I'm also very sure that the other line is "I will give to you solace" not "sorry" -it makes more sense in the context of the song as well. I have an unplugged version where he sings in the second verse "those beautiful eyes, telling him 'you're not the only one'"
I've never been able to find the official lyrics, but i attempted to figure them out once - i think i will put my interpretation in the description section
and if you look closely at the cover, the trees in the distance look a lot like marsupials. ie Kangaroos or even cattle.
