when i turn on my laptop which is the black asus Eeepc it comes up to a black screen that say start up safe mode or normal etc. i pick one then it would it would start off on the windows screen then the screen would turn blue and go back to the black screen with the start up normal or safe mode

@FansOfSelGomezOnly Yes, if you have Microsoft Windows installed. Otherwise, there are free movie makers for Linux which can be downloaded. Slot in an SD card for more storage.

I bought an Asus Eee900 9 mo. ago and now the charger fails to work.The blue indicator light goes in and out ,now its finally gone.Called Asus and they say chargers only have a 6 mo warranty and I have to order a new one.

I have this exact one except its black and its great. Theres a hotel a block from my house that uses wifi and it connects to it easily so free internet. The screen is a bit small so I connect it to my 46 inch sony lcd and problem solved. I also connect a full size keyboard and mouse with the usb inputs and its awesome for what it is.

your screwed now that you said you use a hotels wifi. doing that is incredably illegal. im pritty sure the hotel will find out that the same isp address is constatly coming up. if i were you i would stop and renew your isp.

hell no, this is not for gaming, a gaming netbook is the Asus N10J, check tht for gaming on the move

There have been decent results running games on the eee 901. The question pertained to games made around 2003, and people are running some games pretty well on it.

It's a real PC. You can do anything that fits in the requirements.

There is no cd built-in, but you can connect a USB based drive. The Atom processor is odd, in that it's about the performance of an older p4 at 1.6ghz or a new Intel mobile core at around 1ghz, but for some tasks the Atom seems to fit the GPU for multimedia tasks better.

There are some vids floating around youtube of people playing some relatively modern games in Windows on it.

exactly what i was thinking... i'll be disappointed if it has 50 kiddy games that teach you how to subtract 11 from 11 and zero multi track recording or flash player which is all i want a computer for to begin with

my friend has this laptop, and its okay. The only bad thing about it is, is that its so small. The screen is small and when ive been on it, it was annoying and the keys are SOOO small. I have little fingers, and i kept messing up when i was typing. It seems like a good deal though, its quality is pretty good also. The size would just be an issue for me. my laptop, is a toshiba and its pretty big but it feels like, and bigger laptops are more comfortable for me lol.

My friend has the 10 inch one. He has 4GB RAM and 80GB storage. I'm not sure what his processor is its one of those Intel Atom ones. He also has full 802.11n capabilities. It can get really high resolution in XP but he doesn't use it much he prefers Ubuntu Eee.

Yeah a USB hard drive or a network had drive will work.

Its perfect if you travel alot, dont have the ability to carry a full blown laptop or if you want something subtle you take away.

Also with this being so small you can store it in your normal hand luggage and have a bit more room for everything else.

Every time I get on a plane bound for a meeting, I have to have two breifcases and it gets annoying all the time, with this its just one and still has everything I need.

It has a virus scanner but thats only that it doesnt transfer virusses to an xp machine when u connect. Linux isnt affected by virusses.

The 4GB is storage. The solid state storage acts like a hard drive, for storing files etc. This is not a fully fledged laptop, so for storing documents, photos, a few MP3's it is more than enough. You can install any application that is available for Linux.

So long as you don't give the impression that it can be a 'main computer or laptop' replacement, I think it will sell well. It is a nice compliment as a second computer and is VERY portable.

I wish Apple had made one of those instead of the overpriced macbook air. Incredible concept from Asus and they really hit a nerve with that, there are very long waiting lists in Germany for it.

The only thing Asus should improve is the running time of the battery!
